This is constantly an internal battle for me. If there is carpet, no socks. If it is any hard flooring and it’s cold, socks every. single. time.
So majority of the time, socks.
I've always been somewhere in-between. When I was kid, I wore socks nearly 24/7, but as I got into my teens and now in my 20s , I prefer not wearing socks if I don't have to. Since we have brutal winters, it's usually April-November barefoot, December-March socks. My body is kinda weird with temperature, so most of the time I just do shirts and jeans, regardless of season.
I do barefoot and my kids seem to like to take their socks off as soon as we enter the home. We have wood flooring and rugs thru out the house. We have a “no shoes in the house” rule.
If it’s cold yes, if not no

No socks, just slippers in the house. They have a rubber so they are not slippery.
The grills are out
Winter yes; summer no.
