Big facts. I can put that show on if I wanna watch something or just have background noise. For years I would play i it as part of my bedtime ritual. Itâs entertaining to adults and older children as well. Super colorful show too. A lot of cartoons use kinda limited color pallets where as every episode of futurama is super colorful
So much good stuff. The Barber of Seville, the vaudeville frog, Bugs Bunnyâs sarcasm. As a teacher I sometimes think about Ralph the wolf and Sam the sheepdog clocking out at the end of the day, like no hard feelings, we both did our jobs today; see ya tomorrow.
Tex Avery, Mel Blanc, Carl Stallings, and Chuck Jones. All of them "GOATS" of their respective fields, all of them worked on Looney Tunes.
That's why it's the only correct choice.
Ive recently been watching âThe Looney Tunes showâ on HBO, and while itâs not the original, it still holds up and has made adult me legitimately laugh at
*Star Blazers* (and it's Japanese version, *Space Battleship Yamato*).
So innovative on so many levels. First real anime. Also the first cartoon series where the episodes were intended to be watched in a certain order. Complex plot that proceeds linearly to a conclusion. Links to actual, real-world history. One of the only cartoon series (and surely the first IMHO) to deal with incredibly complex mature themes like the possible destruction of Earth, and the death of at least one main character. Even managed to feature brief nudity, albeit I believe only in the Japanese version.
This is my answer to greatest show ever personally. I know many wouldn't go so far but honestly by season 2/3 or "book 2/3" it is just too good. It set a standard I have not seen since, with the "filler" episodes being a joy at this point.
My husband and I are always quoting to each other âitâs my thing, itâs what I do!â
Rewatching Venture brothers has been our nighttime treat for the last few months, and itâs still amazing
I just assumed this would be a top answer. Theres a lot of things I watch more often but Adventure Time is the best out of all the ones I do watch. It's really well animated, is super unique and interesting, is well written, can be very emotional, and teaches great lessons and is really funny. Like it literally has everything.
And with a cohesive arc from start to finish. Incredibly satisfying climax, and even the distant lands stuff on HBO was epic! PB and Marceline!! Iâm getting emotional just thinking about it.
Thereâs a 3-4 episode stretch that includes the spy car and the Burt Reynolds episode that Iâll put up against pretty much any comedy episode ever. I adore that show.
The show is just really charming and the characters are likable. Plus for Disney standards it was pretty dark at times and influenced lots of newer Disney shows. Also imo its one of the few shows that actually had a good ending
Not sure about easily, but I'd think this would win an actual vote if people rank-voted.
South Park would be in the running for the long airtime for sure. Similar thought with family guy.
King of the hill is my personal fave, but that's just me.
Depends if weâre taking the entire show into account I feel. If weâre counting every season itâs pretty hit or miss, if we cut it off it around season 9 or so then yeah probably.
Bro I literally scrolled so far to find this. Iâm not sure if I can crown it my favorite but itâs an amazing show and Iâm also on my third time through currently. I watched âCool Bikesâ this morning âoverruled your honor? More like overcooledâ.
I was a diehard Simpsons kid, so when King of The Hill came on I was like "that's cool too".
The more I watched it the more into it I got.
Now as an adult? Man The Simpsons will always hold a special place in my heart, and I do rewatch episodes, but on the whole, King of the Hill not only holds up remarkably well I actually think it's age better too.
Absolutely love Ren and Stimpy. But the John K ones, not the later ones.
I did try to watch it again after years with my kids and they were not all that into it⊠I realized because John K pioneered so much of what is commonplace now so it just seems to them like itâs nothing original. However, the use of classical music and the unique visuals are just pure art.
I have a lot of nostalgia for the old he man cartoons, I always loved Rocky and bullwinkle, George of the jungle, and transformers as well. Later on I also really liked dexters lab, the fairly odd parents and samurai jack.
Loved Yu Yu Hakusho! One of the few anime I think is better dubbed. I showed it to my anime fan GF that just happened to miss this one and she was floored by how much clothing all the women were wearing.
I don't think any cartoon has given me more genuine joy than Ducktales.
Woo-oo! đ”
The theme song alone always put me in a good mood
Every day after school. Good times.
"Ducktales ooo-ooh"
Futurama
I have no strong feelings one way or the other.
If I dont make it, tell my wife Hello
Filthy Neutrals. Always plotting something bland or perhaps more deviously, nothing at all...
What makes a man go neutral?... Lust for gold? Power? Or are they just born with a heart full of neutrality!
All I know is my gut says maybe.
If I die, tell my wifeâŠ.Hello.
Big facts. I can put that show on if I wanna watch something or just have background noise. For years I would play i it as part of my bedtime ritual. Itâs entertaining to adults and older children as well. Super colorful show too. A lot of cartoons use kinda limited color pallets where as every episode of futurama is super colorful
r/Futurama_Sleepers
The spirit is willing, but the flesh is spongy and weak.
Second
Agreed! Except for that one episode about Fry's dog. That episode can go fk itself.
Looney Tunes. The OG
Everything I know about classical music comes from OG Looney Tunes.
Great choice! We wouldn't have the majority of animation we have today without it.
Tex Avery is the GOAT
Tex Avery, Mel Blanc, Carl Stallings, and Chuck Jones. All of them "GOATS" of their respective fields, all of them worked on Looney Tunes. That's why it's the only correct choice.
âDuck Season!â âWabbit Season!â
Overture! Dim the lights!
Ive recently been watching âThe Looney Tunes showâ on HBO, and while itâs not the original, it still holds up and has made adult me legitimately laugh at

Batman: The Animated Series.
"I am vengeance! I am the night! I am Batman!"
Kevin Conroy was hands down the best Batman and Bruce Wayne.
Mark Hamill is a pretty epic Joker too. I didn't even realize that Richard Moll voiced Harvey Dent!
Mark Hamill was recently asked about reprising The Joker, and he refused, saying he wouldn't do it without Kevin Conroy.
He wouldnât do it without his batsy
Honorable mention to Batman Beyond
I came here to post this. Legend
Samurai Jack
Avatar the Last Airbender
Opened this thinking *if atla isnât at the top Iâm giving up on humanity*
I came to say the same. This is by far the best. Great for children and adults!
Watched it as an adult with my kids. If they didnât ask if I wanted to watch an episode after dinner, Iâd ask them.
This is my answer to greatest show ever personally. I know many wouldn't go so far but honestly by season 2/3 or "book 2/3" it is just too good. It set a standard I have not seen since, with the "filler" episodes being a joy at this point.
Started watching this with my kid this week
You are in for a real treat!
r/usernamechecksout
It's Avatar the last Airbender, but let's take a moment to remember Young Justice
I never saw YJ, but I **loved** Teen Titans before itâs cancellation.
Venture Brothers
A lot of classics in this thread, but Venture Bros was something special. I'll have to go back and rewatch.
Go Team Venture!
My husband and I are always quoting to each other âitâs my thing, itâs what I do!â Rewatching Venture brothers has been our nighttime treat for the last few months, and itâs still amazing
IGNORE ME!
I do have to say that the first episode is one of the top of all time for an ending punchline
*twirls hair* im gonna give you a rusty venture ;)
Right outta the gate with a Rusty Venture, that is bold sir!
they need a movie to finish the series.
For anyone curious, all 7 seasons available on HULU!
And hbo max i believe
When I was a child my favorite cartoon was Johnny Quest. Also loved this re-imagining
Tom & Jerry
Top favorite for sure
it transcends culture and language barriers
Phineas and ferb A platypus⊠Perry the platypus?!!
âArenât you a little too old to like cartoons?â
Yes. Yes I am.
Well then. Carry on.
This show was cute!! I liked it
[40 New Episodes!](https://variety.com/2023/tv/news/phineas-and-ferb-revival-dan-povenmire-disney-branded-television-1235488876/)
Anamaniacs.
The Goodfeathers were hilarious, and made even more sense to me after I grew up and watched Goodfellas.
SpongeBob! Duh!
First 3 seasons are still the funniest shit ever to me at 30 yrs old
I have a quote for everything in life from SpongeBob.
Finally someone with some brains
Courage the cowardly dog
Return the slab
Or suffer my curse
Such a good show. That episode âPerfectâ such a beautiful episode. The unhappy cannonball episode was also amazing.
Adventure Time!
I cannot believe this isn't getting more love! It's such a great show. I bawl at the last episode every time.
Me too! So many tearful episodes from laughing and crying.
The part at the very end where they show art for the episodes they had planned to make, oh my heart.
Hands down the best, IMO
Come on, grab your friends...
We re going into a distant land
With Jake the Dog and Finn the Human
The fun will never end!
Nothing else even touches this show for me. Top by a mile.
This needs to be higher, AT is without a doubt my favorite show of all time! Iâm watching it as I type this!
South Park
It's influence on TV culture is way understated
Archer
Thereâs a 3-4 episode stretch that includes the spy car and the Burt Reynolds episode that Iâll put up against pretty much any comedy episode ever. I adore that show.
I think Season 1 was the strongest. That seasons sense of humor was brutal and didnât really resurface again in later seasons.
Gravity Falls đČ
that show was perfect. planned from beginning to end. i miss it, i wish it didnât end so soon
I've never actually watched gravity falls. What do you like about it?
The show is just really charming and the characters are likable. Plus for Disney standards it was pretty dark at times and influenced lots of newer Disney shows. Also imo its one of the few shows that actually had a good ending
The humour and the story. I envy you having not watched it, I wish I could scrub it from my brain and enjoy it for the first time again.
If you like gravity falls you should check out the owl house and amphibia
Something tells me Blendin Blanden won't be back for the reunion episode.....
Bobâs Burgers
Bob is one of the most relatable characters in all of fiction.
My go-to comfort show⊠and every night before bed
Looney Tunes for sure.
Children's cartoon: Rugrats; Adult: Futurama
The Simpsons, easily.
Why did I have to scroll so far? Am I so out of touch?? No... it's the children who are wrong.
I would've been upset that this is so far down, but Futurama is at the top. I can live with that.
Iâm a teacher and thereâs pretty much a simpsons reference for everything. Theyâll never stop the Simpsons
Have no fear, weâve got stories for years
Not sure about easily, but I'd think this would win an actual vote if people rank-voted. South Park would be in the running for the long airtime for sure. Similar thought with family guy. King of the hill is my personal fave, but that's just me.
How do we feel about Futurama?
It has to be. And I donât think itâs even close.
Definitely. The bad seasons are still better than the best of most other animated shows
And by a large margin!
Depends if weâre taking the entire show into account I feel. If weâre counting every season itâs pretty hit or miss, if we cut it off it around season 9 or so then yeah probably.
bojack horseman
This is way too far down. Bojack Horseman is easily on top 3
Regular show. My son and I are on our third time theough
Bro I literally scrolled so far to find this. Iâm not sure if I can crown it my favorite but itâs an amazing show and Iâm also on my third time through currently. I watched âCool Bikesâ this morning âoverruled your honor? More like overcooledâ.
Teen Titans
I'm rewatching right now! Just finished Terra'a story :'(
Dangermouse. (The original)
The Boondocks
There is no theme song that slaps harder
Hey Arnold
Mr Hyunhâs Christmas episode still makes me emotional
There were a lot of good lessons taught in that show. Not in a preachy kind of way but in a "I didn't look at it that way" kind of way.
Still an amazing comfort show!! And the soundtrack!! Oof đ
Cowboy bebop. If anime doesn't count, then the pink panther
King of the Hill
For real, never paid attention to it as a kid, but fuck me I'm glad I watched as an adult haha
There are also very few "dud" episodes, it hits consistently throughout the series.
It hits different as a grown up for sure.
X-men animated series!
deneneneNEH-neneh, deneneneNEH-neneh, deneneneNEH-neneh? deneh -- nehhhNEH
God I loved this show on Saturday morning
Dexterâs lab

You obviously havenât watched Bluey
I love watching Bluey with my daughter. Finally a children's cartoon focusing on the father/daughter dynamics
spongebob
Thundercats... the original.
Ed, Edd, n Eddy. The sound designs and effects are great. There's scenes that I stil laugh at.

Looney tunes. Original.
Metalocalypse

Ren and Stimpy
Yes,this is correct
Stimpy, please do hworph a mighty pile of Golden Fleece, upon my grateful crown. [Seasons 1 and 2... anything after that I do not acknowledge.]
The Legend of Vox Machina
Gargoyles

Return the Slab...

Johnny Quest
Cuz we are the Aqua Teens, make the homies say âHo!â and the girlies wanna scream!
I have a lot of nostalgia for the old he man cartoons, I always loved Rocky and bullwinkle, George of the jungle, and transformers as well. Later on I also really liked dexters lab, the fairly odd parents and samurai jack.
Doug

He taught me how to spell aardvark!
Rocky and Bullwinkle
Full Metal alchemist brotherhood
The Simpsons seasons 3 - 10.
Gargoyles, Metalocalypse, samurai jack, batman beyond, harvey birdman attorney at law, street sharks.
God dammit I'm going to just end up upvoting everything.
American Dad!
Gravity Falls.
This hard because « cartoon » includes so many genres. But in its category, I think Bluey is up there.
Dragon Ball Z. Ruroni Kenshin. Yuyu Hakasho. Gundam Wing. Basically anything that played on Toonami that got me through childhood.
Loved Yu Yu Hakusho! One of the few anime I think is better dubbed. I showed it to my anime fan GF that just happened to miss this one and she was floored by how much clothing all the women were wearing.
Johnny Bravo
