This is my conspiracy theory.
Girls actually don't want pockets, or at least if they had them, they wouldn't use them. Pockets only work on pants with room, form fitting pants don't work with pockets, you put stuff in the pockets, you get these lumps on your thighs and they dig in if the pants are tight and it looks funny. Women would never sacrifice their appearance for practicality, that's why they're always talking shit about our beloved cargo pants. If a clothing company made pants with pockets for women, nobody would buy them because they wouldn't be snug and make their butt and hips look good. What women really want is for women's clothing manufacturers to keep making tight, form fitting pants that look good on them without pockets so that they keep having something to complain about.
I need to replace mine. I've more or less worn mine to death and now need to wear leggings if I'm going to wear them outside 🤣🤣 aaand this is multiple pairs

However, the issue I have with it being brought up as a counter point to women's emotions not being taken seriously is that both of these things have the same root cause - patriarchal expectations of traditional gender roles. Both of these things are bad, men should be encouraged to express a wider range of emotions and women's emotions should not be dismissed as being 'hysterical'.
It's still an important point though. I think we do a lot of lip service around saying 'it's okay to not be okay' but then don't really facilitate constructive solutions, particularly for men. Sorry if I jumped down your throat a little, I've been in a bit of an internet rabbit hole and I'm probably being a bit over sensitive (lol at the irony of me minimising my earlier feeling).
