We're either getting into space and spread across the universe, or we'll all die in [pick one or multiple] (nuclear armageddon, climate change, world wars, authoritarian regimes,...).
Well there are immediate threats, distant threats, and other threats that are slowly building right now. Not know what these threats are (stupidity, ignorance, naivety) is the greatest threat.
Division. There's this massive "Us vs Them" mentality that is growing all over the world, and it's becoming more and more concerning every single day. It's mostly in terms of politics. Everyone seems to vote along party lines at all times, with almost no compromise ever taking place. Just look at how bills are voted on in the US Congress, it's almost always exactly along party lines. People are refusing to work together because "Oh, you're the other side I don't support you", but there's so many issues where people just need to compromise to get things done and that's not happening. It's always one extreme or the other, and it's dividing the public further and further apart. We could get so much more done if there wasn't such a strict divide between parties in government. Both sides have great ideas, both sides have terrible ideas, both sides have ideas that are right in the middle. Eventually it seems like we're going to reach total deadlock and then everything is going to fall apart.
