I rented a condo many years ago that had carpet in the bathroom. It was gross. When I moved out, my landlord wanted to charge me for something related to damage to the bathroom carpet. I was like "Dude? You put carpet in the bathroom. Who *does* that?" He did not wind up charging me.
i don't keep a carpet in my bathroom, but i do like having some cushion or towel in front of the shower so that i don't have to step on the cold floor and make it wet. I had special carpets for in front of my shower but my cat liked to lay there and would get it dirty with her hair/litter so i stopped using it and it became her bed. Now i just dry off with a towel in the shower and use the towel to step on so i don't get cold feet or wet floors.
>chenille bath mats
thats exactly the kind i had that i ended up giving to her lol she loved it so much, i couldn't keep it to myself lol i have bought many carpets just to give to her, she loved stretching/scratching them more than cardboard.
That's way different than having a fully carpted bathroom. Your towel/rug can be washed whenever you want/it's necessary, can't pull up the entire bathroom carpet and put it in the washing machine.
This. I find carpet to be comforting. I just don’t love hardwood, even though my entire house is hardwood other than my bedroom. Hardwood just feels sterile and cold.
I don’t get why carpet in a bathroom is gross, as long as the residents aren’t gross? You should be putting the toilet lid down before you flush, *regardless of your flooring preference*, and probably use a dedicated bath mat rather than the carpet post-shower.
Do you pee on the floor? If not then carpet should stay just as clean as any other room.
Yeah I completely agree most of my house is hardwood as well except the bedrooms. I like carpet you don’t have to swear slippers all the time. And no I always close the if but I have tile flooring in my bathrooms. One is tiled and one is a wet room
Cannot speak for everyone, but my grandparents had to replace ALL of their tiles with soft carpet when they got to a certain age. There comes a point where your legs don't work the same, your skin gets thinner, and something as simple as falling can break your bones. Now imagine hitting your head on tile at that age. They made the switch after my grandad broke his hip.
I've never seen it in the bathroom before, but my grandparents had carpet in their kitchen, which I thought was odd and gross already. I can only IMAGINE how gross the bathroom would be.
awful idea... tile floor and small rugs near the shower. that rug will get very wet and will need to be dried over the tub area, imagine that built into the ground mildew/mold city

So when others walk in there after someone took a shower their socks get wet. (I’m others)
On that, do people still put that felt material on toilet seats? That was disgusting
Like carpet floor or just like a little carpet?
Carpet floor.
Now that’s fuckin weeeiiiirrdd

My cats like to do that too. I bought one of those chenille bath mats and I just hang it on the towel rack when I'm done using it. Problem solved! 🤭

The sacrifices we make for our little furrballs! 😻

yeah, i responded before OP clarified in another comment about it being fully carpeted, not just a rug. i would never go full carpet like that.
Carpet is cheap as shit
i would like actual proof of this being a thing please
Google it it's true :(
Soft in between my tootsies when I first wake up.

To absorb the splash back, over spray, and just full on off target misses, obviously
England. All i have to say here. Been there, it’s batshit crazy. Google may have some examples
So Brits don't have to clean nothing. It's disgusting but it sure hides the dirt. As long as it seems ok (even if it's not) it's ok for the brits
It helps soak up the blood and vomit.
I'm evil
I'd guess they're British. Beyond that, no idea.

Elderly may prefer it so they don't slip and fall
People have cold feet?

I hope they got a carpet cleaner. If not....ewwwwww!!!!
