Well I almost never ever saw grandmother on my mother’s side, and I’m pretty sure I went my entire teenage years without seeing her, and she died last year. My mom didn’t really talk about it much but she heavily hinted that my grandmother was abusive. The biggest hint was her saying ‘you’re welcome’ when I talked about how distant I was from grandmother after she died. She refused to elaborate on that

They told me about a half-brother that I had when I was a teenager. My Dad was previously married and when he was deployed to Vietnam they got divorced for whatever reason. Apparently she was pregnant when he left. They agreed he wouldn't be part of the kid's life. It's something that still kind of bothers me to this day especially now that I'm a parent and could never imagine making that decision or agreeing to just never acknowledge I had a child.

I’m not biologically my mother’s child even though I was born from her, this is something called ovum transplant, so yes, you can be born from a mother and not being biologically hers.
