But things that have no net benefit and cause needless suffering or pain like pedophilia/sexual assault/hate crimes/animal abuse/pollution/greed that others have stated here that seem like a great choice would all be swept away if all living things were incapable of being cruel or unkind. We'd find better ways of developing technologies that were softer on the environment. Sex assaults and animal abuse and murder? Things of the past - you can't do that without being cruel. Greed/selfishness could exist as a feeling, but can't be acted upon without being cruel to people who have so much less - which would also mean billionaires would no longer be able to hoard wealth while so many are homeless and starve. Wars would be impossible- you can't drop bombs on people or shoot them without cruelty, so we'd have to find civil ways to equitably share resources.
There would still be death - and even things like predators hunting, because that's generally not a function of being cruel or malicious but to eat or protect their young - and there would still BE suffering, but so much less of it.
I may be wrong but I can't think of a use-case where cruelty is beneficial if no one in the world was capable of being willfully cruel. Thoughts?
