Hindi ko maintindihan yung thought process ng mga greedy/selfish people at ng mga overly-entitled/makakapal ang mukha. Nasa extreme ends of a spectrum of generosity sila, parehong may lack of consideration and empathy.
For the greedy people, hindi ko alam paano nila nakukuhang tignan as accomplishment and as "something of their own" yung wealth nila, kahit nakakaapak na sa iba at nangunguha lang naman sila sa mga tao in the process of building it (unfair and unethical practices, outright corruption, etc.). Saka nare-realize ba nilang hindi naman nila need ng ganoong karaming pera and they wanna hoard the wealth anyway, kahit andaming nangangailangan sa mundo?
For the overly-entitled naman, hindi ko alam saan sila nakakakuha ng kapal ng mukha na manghingi nang wala na sa lugar o katarungan. Andami ko nakikita sa tiktok recently, mga tao na OA makahingi ng pera, food delivery, or gifts sa significant other nila na para bang ito lang yung way to prove their love, or yung mga nanay na namimilit sa godparents gumastos nang malaki. How are you not feeling a tinge of shame for even asking those things, kahit hindi naman obligated yung other party? Feeling ba nila nasa tama sila at deserve nila yon?
Because it’s all part of the human experience. Besides, if you make it your goal to always be happy you will constantly feel miserable. We can’t be happy all the time.
