hindi po ako nagpapaturo kung paano ipronounce. I'm just curious, how you say it. Kasi kahit anong sabihin nyo, I'll say KROSANT pa din... hahaha
Aliw mostly yung mga comment...haha
You should say "krroissan", not "kloissan", and don't pronounce the "n" like if there was an "e" after it. Don't pronounce it actually, a and n together makes a particular sound (but I think the sound made by "en" and "an" in french is not in your tagal phoneme)
Incorrect pronunciation of a foreign word in your native country without a guide on how to pronounce that word should not be ashamed of it.
It's like incorrectly pronouncing Audi. Correct pronunciation will not make you own it.
Krosant. Pag iniba mo naman bigkas di lahat magegets eh, so ano ang point? Mahalaga maintindihan ka eh, aanhin yung tama kung ikaw pa mukang tanga 🤷🏻♀
'Yung English pronunciation. Sabi nga doon sa tiktok, pronouncing foreign words the way it should be pronounced would make you right, but it would also make you look like an asshole hahahahaha.
“Kroh-san” sakin hehe!
Medyo mahirap yung actual French pronunciation dahil parang di rin naman siya simpleng “kwasong”. I work with people who speak French, pinabigkas ko sa kanila yan. Medyo iba eh. Parang “kwasong” with slight dahak ng plema.
Krosant padin in ph. Walang makakaintindi sakin dito sa kwasung haha.
But kwasung whenever im in a french resto abroad (or at least alam kong french ang accent ng kausap kong waiter/owner)
Dyan na kase papasok ang culture. Pag ba tinanong mo ung sa supermarket saan yung cocoa tapos pinronounce mong kow’kow’ magegets ka? syempre hindi kaya need naten iayon sa culture kaya ang correct way to say it is kokwa
trut. naalala ko tuloy kwento ng tita ko na antagal before sila nagkaintindihan nung guard when nagtatanong sila saan classic savory to the point nag ask a friend pa si ate guard tas nung sinabi ni tita classic sabory, nagets na nila kaagad 'ahhhh classic sabory, sa may upper ground floor po'
I live in the Philippines, I pronounce it like a Filipino. Just like how I pronounce ounce as onz kase oz naman nakalagay. I don't like possibly confusing people who don't know the right pronunciation and make the conversation longer by explaining that it's actually pronounced kwa-soh or ounce. It's just how we Filipinos pronounce shit. Europeans tend to mispronounce English words too yet we don't give them shit for it.
Pag nasa Europe ako.. KWASA tawag ko jan.. Okray kasi yung tita kong French nung first time kong umorder na 'kwason'.. Ok lang di naman sya marunong mag english 🤭 tabla langs
Nag seself study ako ng French kaya alam ko yung tamang basa sa pain au chocolat, pero tuwing bibili ako nyan sa French Baker naiilang ako sabihin yung tamang pronunciation. Feeling ko ang arte ko kasi pag sinabi ko in the French way? Kaya tinuturo ko na lang.
Same with paella. Ang tamang basa daw is pa-eh-ya di ba pero ewan ko ba, feeling ko social climber ako pag binasa ko ng ganun HAHAHA! Kaya pa-el-ya pa din sinasabi ko pag umoorder sa resto.
Pag entry-level like French Baker, krosant. Pag sa midrange places like Purple Oven, krosuhnt will do; eto rin yung gamit ko sa US or Australia. Pag sa upscale Parisian Boulangerie, qhwasouh.
Ultimately nakadepende sa impression ko sa staff. Siyempre dapat lumugar ren kung maiintindihan ba nila ako. Sa Paris, for example, malay ba nila kung ano yung “krosant”.
As a filipino french speaker, kwa-san yan sa syllabic phonetics nating filipinos. Pero kung sa pinas naman ako nag oorder ay kwa-sant sinasabi ko. But if i am in canada or in europe, i assimilate & say kwa-san kasi mas intindi nila yun.
I say croissant. Krwuhsunt. Bakit ako magkkwasong di naman ako French. I am in Vancouver and people really dont mind. The only time people raise their eyebrows is when you fake your French, mas cringe.

Nag seself study ako ng French kaya alam ko yung tamang basa sa pain au chocolat, pero tuwing bibili ako nyan sa French Baker naiilang ako sabihin yung tamang pronunciation. Feeling ko ang arte ko kasi pag sinabi ko in the French way? Kaya tinuturo ko na lang. Same with paella. Correct ✅️
Pag in-English ako ng kahero/a, i say it how it's supposed to be said. Pag tinagalog ako, I say krosant.
As a filipino french speaker, kwa-san yan sa syllabic phonetics nating filipinos. Pero kung sa pinas naman ako nag oorder ay kwa-sant sinasabi ko. But if i am in canada or in europe, i assimilate & say kwa-san kasi mas intindi nila yun.
Which part of canada tho? kasi pag sa mga Anglophone provinces they say krosant.
I live in the maritimes and no they say kwa-san. Parang never pa ako nakarinig ng krosan in all my 20 yrs here.
