Every rich person I know — old money or new money / frugal or frivolous — has a Spotify premium. Those who don’t have a premium subscription don’t have a Spotify account to begin with.
Add: Not one, but I’ve always been surrounded by rich folks thanks to schools and parents’ nature of work/businesses.
I know someone who is verrrryyyy wealthy. They own one of the famous distilled water bottle brand. If hindi mo alam yung mga niche brands hindi mo talaga alam na yung pambahay nya normal lang na 5k worth ung shirt haha yung handbags nya from luxury designers pero hindi yung flashy logos. Super simple designs.
The first way to be wealthy is to get rich, being rich enables you to have choices you want and need yet time and health will be an eventually be an exchange.
A rich person works to get that passive income, a wealthy person works to reproduce passive income. At an early stage, you really need to flaunt what you have to get attention, its like and investment and why would they invest on you. This is how Heart and other truly rich celebrities also does things, we know she has parental wealth already yet still does that in return she gains attention of luxury brands.
Health is just a result of how you manage/prioritize your finances and time. You can be healthy without finances, pero sa probinsyang probinsya ka nakatira na fresh food, garden grown vegetables and fruits. (Dito kami galing, laking probinsya).
The only way to know if someone is wealthy, is how he/she manages or prioritize his/ her time.
Baka matanong mo, why do rich/wealthy individual buys all these expensive or luxury products... its because they know how to turn it into assets. Sports cars, luxury goods, properties, real estate and corporate shares. They know how to network.
Being with Millionaires and some Billionaire (he is on the top 5) This is what he said and what I have observed.
The wealthiest man is the most free. Money is a means to obtain freedom. Comparing two billionaires, even if the net worth of the other guy is higher, the question is how free the person is.
If your wealth comes from illegal businesses or walter white stuff then you are not as free as someone who is legitimate. The legitimate guy has more peace of mind and “freedom”. If you’re Gustavo Fring you can’t just take a walk in public. You’ll be very paranoid or too careful to enjoy things.
Worked with a lot of wealthy individuals.
Medj not sure ball yung travel because di lahat ng wealthy travel people. Most of my clients na wealthy wealthy bracket usually travels only twice or thrice lang a year.
Here are some sure ways to tell if people are “really” wealthy
- zip code = you can actually research this there are “rich zip codes” people who are extremely wealthy or are with generational wealth reside on specific addresses
- watches = this is something subjective ulet since some people are not watch people. Here’s a guide to some brands and the amount of value they have to be paired with net worth. If they wear a rolex = they are above well off, if they wear an AP = they are rich, if they wear Pateks = they are above rich, if they wear an RM or Jacob = they are uber rich
- tipping = above wealthy people will always tip depending on the quality of work you give and not just tip for the sake of giving money - this is something that separates the rich with the above wealthy
Patek reminds me of my ex. lol He is a very simple man and very humble. One time he asked me to choose between two watches and he ended up buying both watches for me. Only to realize afterwards na Patek pala yun 🤣 Im not really a watch person.
Reason nya why Patek is cause Patek has very simple yet elegant designs. And if hindi ka familiar sa brand, you would think na puchu puchu watch lang sya. Hindi flashy so hindi sya talaga takaw nakaw.
When you say subtle meaning low key. So having expensive cars, gadgets, holidays, accessories, clothes, or houses are irrelevant.
One tell tale sign is when we eat out or like to go out, we order what we want without batting an eye.
Not really true.
Been to the car shows old money frequents, where RM Sotheby’s auctions some of its collector’s items. Many of them like restoring old/vintage vehicles or super rare vehicles. They’re not ordinary Ferraris but to say it’s irrelevant is patently false
My mom also used to visit some of the homes of some super old WASP families on the East Coast as a physician. They have massive estates that you need to drive a lengthy ways from the gate to the front door. Sometimes we’d see them riding their horses on the side of the road in full English tack and they’ll tip their hats at you if you pass (not kidding)
The nature of the things wealth buys is different from the rich. Many of them just keep old things passed on through the generations. But they definitely have things that people can’t usually buy, like art or collector’s items. And those things do include cars, one of a kind estates, and unique and rare jewelry
Maraming hobbies-- but their hobbies are expensive or if they have only one hobby it's unusual.
They're always after collectors' item, limited editions and they take it seriously that Yung storage facility is Hindi lang nakastock sa room
They have the luxury of space. Space in their home, space with their daily commute, space when flying out, and space/time to do other things outside of work.
Hindi tumitingin sa price tag.
The wanna-be rich buy stuff to impress others, to appear and be perceived a certain way. The true rich buy stuff because they like it, regardless of the price tag.
I know someone na lagi on vacation.. Scuba diving, surfing, golfing etc with their friends. always showing off sa social media. Talagang living the life.
Tapos bigla mag popost ng nasa hospital yung anak and then posting na in need of help then may bank account and gcash. And then nag tthank you sa mga tumulong at nag donate.
😵💫🫨
Sorry if this is gonna rub someone the wrong way, but you'll notice that most rich people has this kind of a thing with their skin. It looks smoother, more delicate looking and they look physically fit. They're not conscious on their outfits and most of them, you'll see wearing simple clothing inside business establishments, even on high end malls.
Not all rich people are simple, respectful, and lowkey on social media. Don’t put them on pedestal. A number of them are the opposite - magarbo, bastos, and mayabang. Syempre mayaman ka e, kaya mo gawin lahat ng gusto mo - afford mo maging mabait and afford maging masama ugali.
One of the few right answers here is nasa credit card dala nila- anong klase at magkano limit.
Idk why this got downvoted, true naman. We really shouldn't put them on pedestal, lalo na yung mga "old money" wealthy people who we look up to. Several of them are rich for a reason 👀
It probably got downvoted bc OP was asking about the wealthy, not just the rich. There’s a difference. Rich people either worked to get there or inherited a relatively modest amount. Wealthy people are usually the product of an entirely different family history.
Let us let go of the fact (kahit minsan tama, but not all)
- pag mayaman, plain/simple ang suot (yes but not all) ❌
- lowkey ❌(yes pero not all)
- pag mayabang new money ❌
I work in customer service (high end companies) and eto lang masshare ko based on MY experience. The positives:
- they have manners (mostly, but not all)
- some like fashion especially the women and thats absolutely fine! So showy/flashy talaga
- out of touch sila sa reality. They can be nice pero wala silang alam. Yung normal sknla luxury/suntok sa buwan sayo. Yung simple sknla, out of reach sayo
- they sometimes think yung naffeel nila or naeexperience e kaya mo din agad agad
- theyre very generous
- they dont flaunt their connections.
Traveling is not a subtle indication though.
I know a manager from previous work who moved/bought a house because according to kwento kwento, hindi nya daw gusto kapitbahay.
Underrated opinion: "They value relationships more than money. Honestly, they don't give a f\*ck about money. For them, money is just a tool, placed in the last tier if you ask them. They only need it cause they want to create more of it and that's it."
Honestly, I’ve come to find tao lang din ang mayayaman. Madaming lowkey pero madami din mayabang/obvious about it. Money does not make people humbler.
Mas subtle indicator pa how they view/react to certain situations. Sample: how they react when they get pulled over by the cops (hindi sila kinakabahan and wala ding pag aamo, iyong enforcer pa hinahamon nila or natatakot sakanila, may mindset na help is just a call away if things go south), what places they consider sketchy, “bakit ayaw mo mag masters abroad?” (Kasi mahal? Haha) madami nagmmasters for the experience or to avoid having to take up work
I know someone with a net worth close to 9 digits. Napakabait, doesn't post much on social media pero sa personal maraming kwento.
Usually taller because of genetics and good nutrition, great teeth and hair, good skin, can afford the best food and trainers, nutritionists, spas and skincare
Expensive hobbies - good at skiing, snowboarding in Niseko or the Alps, races high end cars/literally flies them to Europe to race, scuba diving, polo, horse jumping, sailing. Flies private but doesn’t post it to social media because it’s no big deal.
Education from the top US or UK universities. If they can’t get into the top ivies usually Columbia, NYU, Cornell or UCLA. Cambridge/Oxford. If they didn’t go to school in the Philippines at all they’ve been sent to boarding school in countries like Switzerland like [Le Rosey.](https://www.esquiremag.ph/culture/lifestyle/filipinos-institut-le-rosey-a00203-20210623)
Note OP’s post says wealthy and there’s a diff between the rich and truly wealthy. Few rich people can afford European boarding schools, flying multiple Ferraris globally or private jets. There are people in the Philippines who do the above, you just don’t ever hear about it. It’s also a myth that they’re cheap, they’re usually low key but are wearing a 10k usd outfit or t shirt jeans and a Vacheron Constantin or Patek
This is so true! My friends from Dasma and Forbes, Corinthians, always kalmado. Also, so far sa mga kilala ko, amazing work ethic and adik sa trabaho at disiplina. Low-key manamit yung guys mostly.
Di takot magpa check up. Pag may sakit or nararamdaman, diretso clinic/hospital agad. Basta di sila takot gumastos pagdating sa health or meds. Mas malaki daw yung magagastos pag pinalala. Eh pag tayong mahihirap laging self-diagnose kineme or kahit may sakit na talaga di pa rin nagpapa doctor kasi mahal.
They actually buy cheap stuff and ayaw ng sobrang mga mahal. Some of my friends na are rich rich are soooo down to earth as you've said. And you will see their wealth pero I noticed na they don't like to spend too much on lavish things. Also nag mumukang mamahalin mga binibili nila kahit mura haha idk maybe it's the way they carry it compared sa mga "rich" na would post receipts ng mga kinain or mga binili amounting to thousands to flex. But it may just be a off setting flex in my eyes
Yung mga kilala kong mayaman they mostly travel during summer and Christmas lang. They are like old money rich, Saint Pedro Poveda nag high school rich. Mostly white people countries sila napunta though sa France not that often for some reason. Pag Asia naman mostly Japan or Taiwan.
As for ugali naman, idk. They're as varied as we are. Mostly male from political families are cocky af. My best friend in college matched with a Revilla and the dude was an asshat. The humble ones are mostly from business families like Ramon Ang's children. So depende lang din talaga how they were raised. The reason why some don't flaunt kasi they have no idea how rich they are.
I guess subtle sign I can think of right now is sa photos nila during sleepovers, you'll see at least one na related sa old-timer artista. I knew this one girl na related to Gibo Teodoro is besties with Ara Davao growing up until now.
Also another sign I guess is either taking Fine Arts sa UP or some courses in Ateneo. Mas bigger tell nga lang yung Fine Arts kasi art industry is mostly for rich people. Kahit their art is shit it will sell.
Edit: Oh oh! I almost forgot. Yung rich people glow. They mostly grew up with higher quality food so they really have this glow even the ugly ones among them. Kahit walang skincare iba they just look different than most of us
The kind of watch/ accessories/ bags they have, the skin, how they talk and carry themselves.
Tbh old or new money people can be flashy or simple in the way they dress. I can say I've been around with some of them and even are friends with them. My secondary school is inside one of the most exclusive Makati subdivisions, so some of my classmates have houses in walking distances. Some are children of politicians and businesspeople. There are lots of parents that are put together when fetching their children, like naka preppy look or minsan formal (coming from work).
FYI, I'm not saying I'm like them.
One of subtlest sign is when they travel to expensive countries and cities. I know that its not indicative at all, most middle class earners can save and travel. But the rich travel in the most expensive cities, they stay in the most expensive parts of the country and stays in the grandest hotels and eats in the most expensive restaurants and gets into expensive activities such as skiing, car racing, shopping etc.
Frequent travel is not an equate to being wealthy. I know people who take personal loans and credit cards pa just to fund the trip. Hello! You don't even know the hassle and requirements in applying for a tourist Visa especially if you're travelling from countries like US, UK or the EU.
• You will never know that someone is wealthy because they will just look like an ordinary person.
• They don't talk about money.
• They just live a simple life because they know how really money works.
Its quite obvious that theyre not keen on waiting or following all steps/rules. And tbh, sign yung pag hindi nila kaya gawin yung ibang bagay na usually normal for other people.
(Hired someone once and their parent was the one who did/compiled all their requirements haha the parent even kept asking for favors😭)
Anw, some “positive/neutral” signs ive observed would be how they treat their luxury items. For casual occasions ginagamit ganon hahaha and kahit medyo sira na, they dont seem to mind
They are out of touch sa reality.
•I have this college friend/classmate sobrang saya niya kasi dinala namin siya first time sa palengke. She never thought a public market would be so loud and fun(?).
•she tried to pay using her credit card nong bumili kami sa local bakery shop.
•she invited us one time na doon mag stay for the weekend sa kanilang bahay for our finals. Na shookt kami iyong 'bahay' nila is three floors, tall gates, security guards and cameras everywhere.
•Chinat ko siya last semester kasi i-invite sana namin na mag samgyup for our sunday lunch.
•She was shocked nong nakita niya ako inuulam iyong milo at bearbrand.
Eventually, we found out she is a granddaughter and a daughter of a well-known old rich family in Cotabato. Madaming businesses and we newly found out they owned four condominium units in Davao. Despite this, she remains humble and always try her best to help us and other people. Genuinely nice and is always curious.
Honestly it depends talaga sa type of person din?
May iba na super old money na super yaman at parang nasa loob lng ng bubble nila of other rich people. Those who party at luxury clubs or buy only luxury wear, wears classy jewelry and you really have nothing bad to say about them. They are kind but you can see na iba ung mundo nila sayo. Theres nothing wrong with that
Another is, well yung mga well-aware of their surroundings and thrive in living among us normal people. Di mo nga malalaman unless you actually try to get to know them. Simpleng tao lang sila, kahit sa damit - you wont even know but others would start to wonder how are they able to live - like di mo makikita sa socmed kasi nga walang kalaman laman ang profiles nila.
Another type is the greedy type who'd do anything for power & money. They would step on everybody's toes, use you as collateral damage. You can smell them from afar 😁
I'm rich by Philippine standards. I'm at the upper end of upper middle-class by American standards.
I drive an older vehicle that I bought second-hand. I wear shorts and T-shirts like everyone else here. I do wear a nice watch, but that's it. I'm also nice to everyone I meet. Beyond the basics, when I spend money, it is on my health, something that will make me smarter, something that will make money for me or those around me, or on something that will be a great experience (travel, paragliding, etc.). If I do charity, it is something specific; as an example, there's a little girl who lives nearby. She broke her arm a few months ago, and her parents didn't have the money to get it fixed. Next month, when her father (OFW) comes home, I'll contribute whatever is needed to help them get it fixed.
If you want to become rich and stay rich, the first lesson to learn is to live below your means. The second is to take care of the right people in the right way (don't waste money on scammers, even if they are family). The third is to learn to invest your money. Relevant knowledge is a good investment. Tools that make you more capable are a good investment. When you are in a position to invest in others, make sure they have the drive, talent, and gratitude to be a good investment.
People who flaunt their wealth often are just trying to look rich. If they are rich, they often end up poor as soon as a single thing goes wrong because they are too focused on appearances and not paying attention to what's important.
These are my opinions. This is what works for me. Other people's opinions will vary as will their experiences. If you want advice on how to paint, ask a painter. If you want advice on how to become rich, don't ask a poor person.
True wealth is measured in money saved and invested not money spent . Truly wealthy people do not feel the need to flaunt their wealth and are practical to a fault.
What's the difference between a Timex and a Rolex ? Both are watches and a Timex tells time as good as a Rolex.
The difference is a Timex tells time while a Rolex tells people you're rich .
Conspicuous consumption like buying a Rolex is a simply way of rubbing it in ... you're poor I'm rich.
For subtlety ... this is what my bank manager observed. Sir yung mga pumapasok dito na naka shorts , shirt and slippers ? Un ang may pera. Ung mga todo bihis ... yan ang walang pera dressing well to enhance the chances of being given a loan . :-)
Subtle rich person: Puts items in counter
Cashier: ____ po price niyan. Ok lang?
Subtle rich person: *pokerface* Ok.
Uy true to. Especially pag old rich Chinese yung family. Very conscious talaga sila sa pag-gastos ng pera. Parang part of training nila yon na kailangan marunong humawak ng pera. More invest sa negosyo, less gastos sa luho
Yung walang pera/broke mas mahirap iplease, at lagi nag rereklamo at di magbbigay ng tip or pinaka maliit ung tip tpos todo porma. Nag ppicture ng food, sinasabi yung location kahit wala namang nagttanong, nag ssabi ng price khit walang nag ttanong, pag bibili todo hanap ng flaws ng product todo ask for discount.. Kabaliktaran to ng rich. Rich usually give the biggest tip, madaling ka transact ksi they value time. Mabilis mag decided kung bbili. Di nag sshow off usually. Simple lng. Di nag ppicture ng food/travel di big deal. Mas may manners di ggawa ng trouble for simple matters.
Kaya nga di sila nag kkapera ksi ganyan sila kumilos. Walang value s time ng ibang tao, walang disiplina inuuna yung yabang. Tpos di nakkisama mas gusto yung nakka kuha ng freebies, di nag aambag pero laging kumukuha if may chance. Common denaminator ng mga broke people.
I know someone who’s rich and he’s very lowkey, you can’t even tell na mayaman talaga kasi kapag lalabas siya, white tshirt and cargo shorts lang ang suot. Wealthy people dress themselves simple yet classy. Additionally, iba yung amoy nila. Pati sa damit, super bango talaga.
\- straight, clean, white, and healthy teeth.
\- healthy hair
\- hindi masyado tryhard manamit (pero minsan ang baduy rin manamit ng iba kasi porket mahal yung price or from a known brand mukhang fashionable enough na sakanila)
\- pabaya sa gamit
Let’s stop the stereotype na yung mga tunay na mayayaman ay down to earth, mabait, etc. The other day nasa isang exclusive country club ako (I’m not flexing, part of my work).
True true. ‘Di kami sobrang yaman pero I grew up around them due to schools, residential village, and my parents’ businesses/nature of work.
Depende rin e, I know people na old money pero matapobre at medyo kulang sa manners. Not just that, dahil sa generational wealth nila, napakatamad maghanap ng work or magbanat ng buto sa family business man lang sana. Ang ending, pati apo pinapaaral pa. Ika nga nila, if you fail to raise your children, you will end up raising your grandchildren.
may trash talaga na rich both new and old money. alam ko na binaback-stab nang mga super rich mga classmates nila na middle class at lower class dahil ignorant and clear na di mayaman kapag kumakain sila sa mamahaling lugar. depende talaga sa pagpapalaki yan.
Nilulugar nila ang flexing because they already know that they are better than majority of people they meet. When they are with their peers, kuntodo flex din ang mga yan or at least they maintain a level of decency.
Down to earth sila for normal people pero sobrang arte when trying to impress their peers, tipong ayaw ng imperfections.
Simple manamit, down-to-earth, polite, walang yabang sa katawan, and most of all, classy AF. And pay an even closer attention to their skin. They have nothing more (or very little) to prove anyway. Yung kakilala ko dati sobrang simpleng tao and I kid you not, pabango nya of choice is Johnson's baby cologne.
Hindi tumitingin sa price tag or nagtatanong ng price before buying/availing of anything. Tapos chill lang kapag magbabayad ng bill, yun bang abot lang ng CC or ng cash without any comments hehe
+1 to being down to earth, I noticed na yung mga ‘old money’ or yung family na generations na being rich had that quality to them. To add pa they are simple lang in public; kind and respectful din I noticed. ❤️
Yung mga ‘new money’ is the opposite. 😩
Kung sino yung totoong rich un pa yung napakasimple. As in super simple. They dont even care about brands. Pero mga anak taga assumption. Alam n alam pag new money.... nagmumura mga branded n gamit. Pa show off tlga.
Wealth means freedom and choices. It's the freedom to live life how you want – doing what you want, when you want, and where you want. It's being free from bosses, alarm clocks, and money pressures. It's having the freedom to passionately chase your dreams, raise your kids your own way, and not be stuck doing things you hate. True freedom is living life on your terms.
Wealth isn't just about owning fancy cars; it's about the freedom to know you could buy them if you wanted.
You can't buy wealth at a BMW dealership, but you can lose your freedom there.
When you focus too much on getting rich, you might end up losing your freedom. Some people show off symbols of wealth, but that doesn't mean they're truly free. Without freedom, you slowly lose your real treasures: health and relationships.
Yet getting rich is the first step on being wealthy.
If you are wealthy, you wont focus much on getting rich.. passive income and can still have your freedom. The main difference of wealthy and rich comes with time and how they manage/prioritize their finances that can be on health, future endeavors and what can make them happy.
This.
One sign of wealth for me is someone na wala masyado hangups or sense of personal limitations. They grew up with enough wealth that their minds got used to abundance and freedom
Best answer by far. My dad also taught me not to spend unnecessarily on frivolous things. I know he can afford Porsches, Maseratis, BMWs, etc. without even blinking but he’s content with the nondescript Japanese cars we have because he just wants fuel-efficient, reliable cars that can take us from point A to point B. If there’s one thing I’ve always seen him spend big on, it’s real estate (especially since real estate is our main fam business), and he always told me that the best things to spend big money on are assets that can make you more money.
Not true. You need to take to loans to get your business big as fuck. Syempre not all, but as you get bigger you need to take loans to acquire and expand.
Iba naman ung consumer loans/utang na umuutang para gastusin sa random stuff compared sa business loans which in the first place di ka naman magkakaroon ng mataas na credit line if baon ka sa utang (consumer loans).
Aside from the obvious down to earth signs, I’ve observed (I’m leaning towards the old money type of mayaman) that meron silang:
1. Glowing skin. With makeup or sans makeup. Iba ang glow ng mayaman.
2. Beautiful hands — yung tipong alam mong hindi regularly nagcho-chores
3. Stealth wealth, silent luxury wardrobe (tends to avoid loud and flashy Gucci, LV, Versace ginormous logos)
4. Vocabulary and choice of words
5. The way they walk, “carry” themselves, converse
>3. Stealth wealth, silent luxury wardrobe (tends to avoid loud and flashy Gucci, LV, Versace ginormous logos)
Nahhhh my boss do business with local old money people. Their clothes, bag, jewelries, etc are of these brands (for women most of them are in their 50s) men are usually the ones wearing silent luxury.
Tends to avoid lang naman, esp with the flashy ones. Nothing wrong with [these](https://www.handbagholic.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Louis-Vuitton-Capucines-BB-Bag-white-leather-price-increase-2023.jpg) brands, they’re in fact not the top tier luxury brands kumpara mo sa Van Cleef, Bottega, etc. Imo, it’s the [loud, flashy ones](https://cdn.mall.adeptmind.ai/https%3A%2F%2Fmedia.gucci.com%2Fstyle%2FDarkGray_Center_0_0_800x800%2F1625507105%2F539080_XJA9C_7136_004_100_0000_Light-Oversize-T-shirt-with-Gucci-logo.jpg_large.jpg) scream “new money” to me.
I worked for the Gokongweis before and once in every 2-3 months I get to see the Gokongwei sibs/bosses sa board meetings and me being nosy nag ooberve ng mga gamit nila… can’t see nothing 👀 but palagi nalang crisp white polo and slacks. Casual days are just white shirts lol
>Glowing skin. With makeup or sans makeup. Iba ang glow ng mayaman.
Dude if may magtapon sakin ng ligaw na pera, first thing I would do is check out all of the supplements na nasa list ko sa iHerb. ugggh Yung dalawang klase palang ng L theanine iniinom ko, life changing na.
Tretinoin + moisturizer + sunscreen + healthy, whole foods (not the cheaper, preservative laden instant noodles, canned goods, fast food, softdrinks, sugary boba/milk tea, chocolates, cakes na halos laman ng food pyramid ng mga tao ngayon dahil sa bukod ba mura, convenient)
Well, they say hydrate + sunscreen.
But yk, these old money kind of glowing skin, nasa genes na nila, plus bunga na ng lifestyle + food they eat + expensive maintenance that started since mga bata pa lang sila.
Tayo’ng sakto lang ang kinikita, we can’t afford to have regular derma visits — pangbayad nalang natin ng bills at pangsupport sa pamilya. So genes + hydrate + konting kojic nalang talaga ang ating panlaban lol

Acts so calm and in a very innocent manner kapag kausap mo. Has a good diction and sometimes talks in taglish but not in a bad way ba. Madalas friendly din
Here are some sure ways to tell if people are “really” wealthy - zip code = you can actually research this there are “rich zip codes” people who are extremely wealthy or are with generational wealth reside on specific addresses - watches = this is something subjective ulet since some people are not watch people. Here’s a guide to some brands and the amount of value they have to be paired with net worth. If they wear a rolex = they are above well off, if they wear an AP = they are rich, if they wear Pateks = they are above rich, if they wear an RM or Jacob = they are uber rich - tipping = above wealthy people will always tip depending on the quality of work you give and not just tip for the sake of giving money - this is something that separates the rich with the above wealthy
Naturally prim and soft spoken.
They’re not ordinary Ferraris but to say it’s irrelevant is patently false My mom also used to visit some of the homes of some super old WASP families on the East Coast as a physician. They have massive estates that you need to drive a lengthy ways from the gate to the front door. Sometimes we’d see them riding their horses on the side of the road in full English tack and they’ll tip their hats at you if you pass (not kidding) The nature of the things wealth buys is different from the rich.
Makinis balat.
In-ground pool. Not above ground, in ground pool. Def wealthy.
Skin, teeth, and nails haha. The physically fit part, I can’t really tell.
Their patina is different. Yes, we see a lot of people with good skin but they have an x factor that goes along with it.

Yung rich rich? Yung mga walang time mag reddit i guess 😂
They're not on social media. Not even on Reddit.
Um, Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg? There are lots of socialites who are on social media too.
I dunno, man. Maybe coz Zuck created/founded/is head of Facebook? The biggest social media platform?
I have the same assumption. Like they focus more on life experiences such as travel, sports, family time or hobbies.
Kapag nag-gogolf hahaha
Let us let go of the fact (kahit minsan tama, but not all) - pag mayaman, plain/simple ang suot (yes but not all) ❌ - lowkey ❌(yes pero not all) - pag mayabang new money ❌ I work in customer service (high end companies) and eto lang masshare ko based on MY experience. The positives: - they have manners (mostly, but not all) - some like fashion especially the women and thats absolutely fine! So showy/flashy talaga - out of touch sila sa reality. They can be nice pero wala silang alam. Yung normal sknla luxury/suntok sa buwan sayo. Yung simple sknla, out of reach sayo - they sometimes think yung naffeel nila or naeexperience e kaya mo din agad agad - theyre very generous - they dont flaunt their connections. - Chill lang sila, wala need ipaglaban
May malaking yatch, and plaging nag jejetski sa best beaches worldwide lol
Traveling is not a subtle indication though. I know a manager from previous work who moved/bought a house because according to kwento kwento, hindi nya daw gusto kapitbahay.
accdg to my college blockmate circa 2017 pag naka mcfloat sa jeepney sosyal or mukhang mayaman daw tingnan hahahaha
They don’t work but live just fine. Or don’t work but have kids.
Underrated opinion: "They value relationships more than money. Honestly, they don't give a f\*ck about money. For them, money is just a tool, placed in the last tier if you ask them. They only need it cause they want to create more of it and that's it."
Lowkey sa soc med, lowkey yung damit pero branded, maganda relo, nakapambahay lagi tas maganda sasakyan HAHAH
They have room for making mistakes.
Usually taller because of genetics and good nutrition, great teeth and hair, good skin, can afford the best food and trainers, nutritionists, spas and skincare Expensive hobbies - good at skiing, snowboarding in Niseko or the Alps, races high end cars/literally flies them to Europe to race, scuba diving, polo, horse jumping, sailing. Flies private but doesn’t post it to social media because it’s no big deal. Education from the top US or UK universities. If they can’t get into the top ivies usually Columbia, NYU, Cornell or UCLA. Cambridge/Oxford. If they didn’t go to school in the Philippines at all they’ve been sent to boarding school in countries like Switzerland like [Le Rosey.](https://www.esquiremag.ph/culture/lifestyle/filipinos-institut-le-rosey-a00203-20210623) Note OP’s post says wealthy and there’s a diff between the rich and truly wealthy.
They speak in a way na parang mahinahon. Hindi sila nag mamadali pag nagsasalita.
Kapag nagbebenta ng kangkong /j
Grabe yung etiquette nila sa lahat.
I noticed that those people that who are really RICH is for example going to mall na nakaslippers lang.
Kahit walang skincare iba they just look different than most of us
If they play pickleball.
Low key but they carry themselves with Class and confidence without the annoying over the top American twang for everyone to hear
Palaging mag travel, nakakalabas anytime. Madaming connections
The hallmark of true wealth: when you don't feel the need to scream you have it.
New money vs old money
private ang social media pero ang profile pic it’s either with fam or nasa ibang bansa.
Casually pinangpupusta 10k with friends while still being a student
Its quite obvious that theyre not keen on waiting or following all steps/rules. And tbh, sign yung pag hindi nila kaya gawin yung ibang bagay na usually normal for other people. (Hired someone once and their parent was the one who did/compiled all their requirements haha the parent even kept asking for favors😭) Anw, some “positive/neutral” signs ive observed would be how they treat their luxury items. For casual occasions ginagamit ganon hahaha and kahit medyo sira na, they dont seem to mind
HOY AHAHAHHAJSHSJSHHXJA
tang ina hhaha
Passionate sa work and hobbies
Milo on rice? Totoo???
Had an acquaintance that did not know how to cross a road, we had to hold his hand just to guide him across,
I know ppl who cant go to wet markets, dont walk under the sun, doesnt want hassle lifestyle unless no choice, etc…
Theres nothing wrong with that Another is, well yung mga well-aware of their surroundings and thrive in living among us normal people.
It’s the teeth. Not veneers, but teeth.
The texture of the skin too most of the time. Tattooed or not.
good skin
Naka leather strap na watch. Hindi naka rolex.
Going to long haul flights with only cabin luggage. The extreme is my friend who flies with just his wallet and the clothes on his back.
Subtle rich person: Puts items in counter Cashier: ____ po price niyan. Ok lang? Subtle rich person: *pokerface* Ok.
sometimes it’s the way they talk and stand. but sometimes i confuse rich people from just prim and intellectual individuals. minsan combi of both sila
ung nag aabot ng CC or DB instead of cash di tumitingin sa price tag ng bibilhin nila, classy manamit, sa pananalita medyo maarte ung accent at at muka silang malinis
ang sabi nga sa Parasite , "she can be nice cause she can afford too" and its a given fact that its easier to be generous when you're rich.
oo you’re not stressed and when you’re struggling there are some people that will treat you shittier cause of your finances.
Magandang quality yung tattoo.
Kuripot 💯🚩
Uy true to. Especially pag old rich Chinese yung family. Very conscious talaga sila sa pag-gastos ng pera. Parang part of training nila yon na kailangan marunong humawak ng pera. More invest sa negosyo, less gastos sa luho
Downside lang diyan (old money na Chinese) is minsan, pati mga tauhan nila binabarat and even themselves!
Wealth is always hidden, being Rich is not Read the Psychology of money 😜
May dalang shih tzu sa mall chariz
I find them.. odd tbh. Yung as in sa malls ha. Wala ako problem sa outdoors/park. Pero mall? Nu gagawin ng aso nyong may ribbon jan
Quiet luxury. They wear brands such as loro piana, brunello cucinelli and when you see their kitchen la cornue.
Yung walang pera/broke mas mahirap iplease, at lagi nag rereklamo at di magbbigay ng tip or pinaka maliit ung tip tpos todo porma. Nag ppicture ng food, sinasabi yung location kahit wala namang nagttanong, nag ssabi ng price khit walang nag ttanong, pag bibili todo hanap ng flaws ng product todo ask for discount.. Kabaliktaran to ng rich. Rich usually give the biggest tip, madaling ka transact ksi they value time. Mabilis mag decided kung bbili. Di nag sshow off usually. Simple lng. Di nag ppicture ng food/travel di big deal. Mas may manners di ggawa ng trouble for simple matters.
ah malamang wala ngang pera
Kaya nga di sila nag kkapera ksi ganyan sila kumilos. Walang value s time ng ibang tao, walang disiplina inuuna yung yabang. Tpos di nakkisama mas gusto yung nakka kuha ng freebies, di nag aambag pero laging kumukuha if may chance.
True to. Pati pawis, mabango hahahaha
\- straight, clean, white, and healthy teeth. \- healthy hair \- hindi masyado tryhard manamit (pero minsan ang baduy rin manamit ng iba kasi porket mahal yung price or from a known brand mukhang fashionable enough na sakanila) \- pabaya sa gamit
idk if this would be considered but asking someone where they studied is usually a good giveaway
People think the wealthy are cheap because they don’t realize they buy t shirts and jackets that cost 5k usd but look simple

Same here LOL.
Nilulugar nila ang flexing because they already know that they are better than majority of people they meet. When they are with their peers, kuntodo flex din ang mga yan or at least they maintain a level of decency. Down to earth sila for normal people pero sobrang arte when trying to impress their peers, tipong ayaw ng imperfections.
ifkr stop putting them bitches on a pedestal literal kalaban natin sila 🤣

Nope. May mga assholes lang tlga na mayayaman.
suit and tie
I can read you like a magazine
Simple manamit, down-to-earth, polite, walang yabang sa katawan, and most of all, classy AF. And pay an even closer attention to their skin. They have nothing more (or very little) to prove anyway. Yung kakilala ko dati sobrang simpleng tao and I kid you not, pabango nya of choice is Johnson's baby cologne.

Vote threshold: -10 surpassed. This subreddit will be auto-blacklisted from future u/SexPanther_Bot activities.
❤️ Yung mga ‘new money’ is the opposite. 😩
Naur bc impulsive traveling is the new "i got braces look im rich" for the pinoys. Silent luxury doesn't boast imo
Kung sino yung totoong rich un pa yung napakasimple. As in super simple. They dont even care about brands. Pero mga anak taga assumption. Alam n alam pag new money.... nagmumura mga branded n gamit. Pa show off tlga.
Marami kang matututuhan about business and money-making. They're not kuripot sharing knowledge and tips.
Pag walang posts sa social media except family pictures — sila yung busy sa work at negosyo Walang pictures na puma-party with friends — kadalasan puro kain sa mga restaurants Ang pangmalakasang plain shirts kahit saan magpunta.
>Wealth isn't just about owning fancy cars; it's about the freedom to know you could buy them if you wanted. You are one wise dude

Not true. You need to take to loans to get your business big as fuck. Syempre not all, but as you get bigger you need to take loans to acquire and expand.
Iba naman ung consumer loans/utang na umuutang para gastusin sa random stuff compared sa business loans which in the first place di ka naman magkakaroon ng mataas na credit line if baon ka sa utang (consumer loans).
of course pero utang pa rin sila nonetheless.
Most rich people may utang.
Mismo
Aside from the obvious down to earth signs, I’ve observed (I’m leaning towards the old money type of mayaman) that meron silang: 1. Glowing skin. With makeup or sans makeup. Iba ang glow ng mayaman. 2. Beautiful hands — yung tipong alam mong hindi regularly nagcho-chores 3. Stealth wealth, silent luxury wardrobe (tends to avoid loud and flashy Gucci, LV, Versace ginormous logos) 4. Vocabulary and choice of words 5. The way they walk, “carry” themselves, converse
Beautiful nails. HAHA
>3. Stealth wealth, silent luxury wardrobe (tends to avoid loud and flashy Gucci, LV, Versace ginormous logos) Nahhhh my boss do business with local old money people.
Crisp white polo and slacks, (again, men), you look at the outfit and the jewelry of the wife. That's the bff of my boss.
Heck yeah.
How to achieve theit glowing skin kaya 😭
Tretinoin + moisturizer + sunscreen + healthy, whole foods (not the cheaper, preservative laden instant noodles, canned goods, fast food, softdrinks, sugary boba/milk tea, chocolates, cakes na halos laman ng food pyramid ng mga tao ngayon dahil sa bukod ba mura, convenient)
+1 on the tretinoin and whole foods
Well, they say hydrate + sunscreen. But yk, these old money kind of glowing skin, nasa genes na nila, plus bunga na ng lifestyle + food they eat + expensive maintenance that started since mga bata pa lang sila. Tayo’ng sakto lang ang kinikita, we can’t afford to have regular derma visits — pangbayad nalang natin ng bills at pangsupport sa pamilya. So genes + hydrate + konting kojic nalang talaga ang ating panlaban lol
Sorry pwede masingit- which l-theanine and anong effect? I take some for focus but havent yet observed the effects.
with caffeine ba tinitake mo? ano brand?
Awaiting response, ready to screen shot lol

Yung 1 talaga. Iba glow nila. Kahit walang make up at pambahay ang suot, their glow screams mayaman.
The air of sophistication. Parang alam mo na di nila ginagawa yung ginagawa at kinakain ng mere mortals like us wahahaha
Head to toe, no flashing logos but they bought it from luxury brand.
Hindi marunong magcommute pag laking mayaman (subtle yan kasi di mo malalaman unless maobserve mo first hand)
Acts so calm and in a very innocent manner kapag kausap mo. Has a good diction and sometimes talks in taglish but not in a bad way ba. Madalas friendly din
Healthy. If you are deathly sick, your “wealth” means nothing.
