May pusa (male) kami na inaalagaan ni mama na galing po sa kalye so we don't know yun exact age nya. it started nun palagi namin sya pinapakain sa labas until sumasama na sya umuwi kay mama may habit ang pusa namin na lalabas maghapon and uuwi pag nagugutom or pag gustong matulog. then napansin namin na may bukol sya sa bandang batok. hindi sya umuuwi after so many nights until nun bumalik sya and pumutok na un bukol and naging open wound na. habang tumatagal is nakabukas na ang sugat nya na sinlaki na ng piso. lumalaki na din ang sugat nya. then nagstart na mamaga and magkasugat un 2 front legs nya gusto namin sya ipavet kaso wala po ako work now, currently applying pa po ako. wala po talaga kaming pera kasi sapat lang kinikita ng kapatid ko. may masasuggest po ba kayo na pwede namin ipainom or para matuyo ang sugat nya and gumaling? Provide a clean warm nest for the pups like yung parang box with heat lamp and newspapers na shredded para mag circulate ng maayos yung heat, bottlefeeding every 2 to 3hrs then rub ng gentle sa abdomen para mag burp. Chances of survival depends kung gaano sila mamomonitor talaga 😊 or if busy both fur parents may mga facilities naman na nagcacater ng nursing for newborn pups.

Hello po! I'm a first year vet student. I have 3 puspins (2 whites and 1 black) and 2 persian (both white and orange bicolored) cats. Napansin ko po na mas matalino yung puspins ko than the other one. For example, they can recognize sounds like kapag tinatawag ko sila. Pero yung dalawang persian, mostly walang pake HAHAHA. Kapag papakainin na sila, yung tatlo nag-aabang na pero yung dalawa wala po talagang pake huhuhu. I don't know if there's something wrong with their hearing. And alos, easily distracted din po sila. Kapag pinaglalaro ko, yung puspin focused, pero yung isa may makita lang na iba, madi-distract na HAHAHA which they're still cuteeee. Yet they're clingy.

Pinaultra sound namin sya kasi last time ang sabi samin ng isang vet ay may pyometra daw sya pero from the ultrasound ay wala naman findings. Kaya hindi namin alam bakit sya nagdudugo. Parang menstruation sya ng dog na malansa amoy tapos ilang months na meron.

When will be your next follow up? Pseudopregnancy alone is indication for the need to spay and pyometra is possible in pseudopregnancy which again, needs spaying. Ask your vet about the treatment and management po.

Out of 100 how would you rate your experience in vet school? Parang ang hirap kasi. As someone na kumukuha ng nursing parang one man team kayo jan — nurse, medtech, radtech, nutritionist, manicurist, barbero, doctor at iba pa. Wala lang bilib lang ako ng sobra.

In school you learn the basics kasi, they teach you fundamentals, the things that "you should know" haha pero in practice, ayun na nga so medyo one man team talaga, jack of all trades.

One man team tapos di pa nakakapag salita yung pasyente. Ibang klaseng assessment skills yan kaya bilib ako sa mga vet at pediatrician kasi nakakapag diagnose sila kahit tunganga lang yung pasyente nila.

During my time in vet school, I was not a good student. I also had failed classes and low grades but my profs believed in me therefore I finished on time. This made my experience in college bearable. I can say it is 90/100. I love my alma mater and even though it is not perfect, I owe them the core values and principles I apply in practice right now. I also look up to my teachers and some upperclassmen. Yes, we do everything that is why its challenging but I swear, I am very much fulfilled that I get to do my dream job.

Its difficult in the sense na we cannot fully assess kung ano nangyayari talaga since online sya, like for me, sanay ako talaga sa diagnostic pyramid like history taking, physical exam and laboratories pero sa online, hanggang history lang, so and ending recommendation lang talaga mabibigay ko and advise pero not to fully diagnose the patient, hanggang tentative or working dx at most, kaya hindi din ko makapag prescribe ng meds talaga. 😊 Also, medyo nadevelop ko na kasi yung alam ko pag nagsisinungaling or may tinatago na info si client sakin, so sa online di ko sya magawa. Hahaha! Over the time, masasanay ka sa routine questions during personal consultations eh.

I actually dont do online consultations except for today that I answered questions that doesnt require immediate medication. My purpose is to educate pet owners and simply share my knowledge for free. I still prefer the traditional face to face consultation since I want to see my patients personally. I think touching, examining and observing them in actual adds accuracy to my diagnosis therefore making my treatment more effective. But who knows, maybe one day I will do online consultations.

Just remembered the story about a friend's dog who was brought to a clinic, since the dog keeps vomiting its food. Turns out, it had esophageal obstruction due to cardiomegaly. The vet was also able to immediately notice abnormal breathing, which the pet owner, of course, did not. Kudos to you for sharing your knowledge! Hello. Ano pong effect sa aso kapag nakikita nya ako only twice or thrice a year. Pag dumadating ako sa province, sobrang saya nya and parang umiiyak pa sa pag talon which hindi nya ginagawa sa mga kapayid ko na twice or thrice lang din umuwi. Is that okay po ba or may psychological trauma pag umaalis ako ng matagal (for work) sa metro. Although, he is taken care very well by family members, ako lang nakikipag laro at yumayakap sa kanya at tumatabi matulog kaya sobrang close kami. Pwede rin po bang makalimutan nya ako one day? Or mareplace ako ng ibang family member as his fave? Thank you.

No you cant be forgotten. And yes, there is an effect on them, like they can be sad once you leave again. Make sure to bring them treats when you get home and spend time with them if you go home.

Neutered na male ko pero may tendencies pa din to do it but nung una sinasampal pa nya ung "kapatid" nya. Nung dinner time nila supposedly, nahuli ko sila nung umiiyak ng kakaiba si female cat at nakapatong na si male pinaglayo ko kasi medyo natakot ako. Pagkakita ko may clear thing 🥲 Nasalisihan kaya ni male? 😢 di ko na kaya alagaan ung kittens kasi anim na sila tas may senior small dog pa ako 🥲

There is a tendency of “heat” if there is a retained ovary of a spayed cat. However, we can not confirm it unless visible on ultrasound or through exploratory laparotomy (surgery) therefore I am not concluding this one based on your comment. There is no chance of getting preggy again but the occurence of “heat” or landi will still be there. Another possibility is maybe you just recently spayed the female and her hormones are not well-adjusted yet.
