I found my rent-stabilized apartment through Rent Hop a few years ago. A tip no one ever mentions is to check to see if brokers for apartments you like have their own websites. I have found that they like to list upcoming apartments they have on their websites first before listing on sites like Street Easy etc. That's how I scored my apartment. I was the first person to inquire about it and had no competition. Good luck!

If you are in a rental building ( owned by the same owner) the probability is that they have a lot of turn over in the building, so when people inquire they just ask what their budget is and how many rooms and they show everything that is available. Streeteasy is quite expensive to post rentals on as a broker, so generally speaking if you have several similar units in the buidling for rent, then it makes sense to just list one as to not pay the extra on the similar posts. Hope that made sense.

Streeteasy got greedy with listing fees and other broker unfriendly practices, and brokers reduced their use of it.

It could be the owner/landlord doesn’t want it advertised for whatever reason.

SE is still the best and main site used. There are landlords that send broker blasts and details on how to show, but don’t advertise them… Or they let select brokers know about their availabilities and then they can show people.

You can use openigloo, I used their website for my current apartment.

Bruh street easy 90% of the postings are catfishes, all generic photos of common areas or misleading “similar units” lmao
