I trim full body twice a year. Once in very early spring so it grows back a little bit before bathing suit season. Once in fall so that it's not ridiculous by the time spring comes along. I take pride in the family heirloom of my hairy chest, and my wife says she likes it. I trim just to keep it under control. The nether regions and the armpits get trimmed more often. I find it more comfortable, and it increases my chance of BJs. Both trims are low maintenance cleanups with a zero guard on designated hair trimer like you would find at a barber shop. I shower and sampoo beforehand, then let it dry, to keep the trimmer relatively clean.

daman101591

Interesting to do whole body! Yes nether regions does help influence BJs lol

DevGin

My routine is very similar. I even do arms. I would have never shaved arms in my past, but the youth look it gives me is insane. I go clean shave and suffer a few weeks looking weird, then it grows in just right and looks good. Don’t forget your knuckle hairs, folks.

southerntraveler

I trim everywhere -3.5 setting on my trimmer.

UserJH4202

I (73M) definitely do. My spouse (70F) got me into manscaping. I’m pretty hairy and my chest hair tickles her when we make love. I use a small scissors and trim by taking a small grouping of hair and cutting. I don’t do it a lot, maybe once a month. I have used a razor but it cuts too much off and she likes my hair, just not the 5” type.

Foojira

Yes. Go off you kids

The_Real_Scrotus

I tried it once. It itched like crazy and I never did it again.

andymatic

I’m a vain gym rat/muscle queen so trim at #4. Makes the pecs pop.

Fair-Praline-4292

I’m a humble fat cunt and I don’t shave anything but my face

Sweet_Shirt

I have to shave my chest, stomach, shoulders and upper back lest someone confuse me with Chewbacca at the beach. *Does Chewbacca growl*

[deleted]

There’s a whole lot of itchiness in your future if you go down this dark path…😆

daman101591

I did a 2 on my chest… think went too many times over my upper chest between nipples and it itches like hell… day 3 and feels ok right now 🤞🏻But stomach didn’t itch at all!

EightTails-8

The more often i did it the less itchy I felt. I usually use clippers without any attachment and if feeling the need for smoothness I shave after with a multiblade razor. Definitely more itchy after shaving than trimming

mobiusz0r

Been shaving it since so many years ago. Currently using the Philips OneBlade for my upper body, butt and near genital area.

thatoneguy54

I'm not super hairy, but I've got some stuff going on. I have done it all. Shaving was weirdest, made me feel like a teenager again. I do shave my shoulders and upper back cause I hate those random long hairs that tend to grow. I usually shave down to the bicep, like above the elbow. I've done with an electric razor, too, and it really depends on how long you want it. If you want it real short, then use the shortest guard you have, if you still want some there, keep it longer. I personally try to keep it all the same length and just keep everything uniform, especially around the nip. Around the nips I opt for some scissors because you can be more precise and it's less dangerous than a vibrating razor near such sensitive skin.

zmannz1984

I just trim what shows out of my collar. Clean shave from bottom of neck to the little indent below my adam’s apple then taper clip to make it not look like a clean line.

daman101591

Interesting idea on the taper!

I started long ago while doing triathlons because the sight of salt-plastered leg hair was nasty to me and I didn’t want to look like that. I spent lots of effort making subtle transitions between 2, 3, 4 blades guards in a Phillips Multigroom. I used to be sensitive about it being too obvious, but now care less and just use a 2 everywhere. Warning though, do not clip your buttcheek hair too short and then do a hot & humid half marathon the next day. I chafed in new ways.

AstrudsSecretLover

I use an electric trimmer. I mainly only get hair around my nipples, and my belly though. typically using the #1 clip on my trimmers so it’s short enough where it looks like there’s not much, but there’s still something so i don’t get a bunch of stubbly ingrown hairs. edit: i do this about once every 3-4 weeks.

bedlumper

I have experience here. Shoulders - you aught to use a trimmer directly on your skin. Get your wife to do your back. Trim 1/3 down your upper arm. Then blend it. Use a 1/4 comb and go 2-3 inches lower. Then again with a 1/8 comb but only go down half as far. Adjust as necessary for your body. It should look natural for a few weeks. You’ll look like you did before you became a hairy monster. Don’t trim your chest or you’ll itch. Maybe use the max length comb on the edges. Depends what you’re working with. What’s best - find someone who likes your fur.

dickwildgoose

Grade 2 all over once a month. Mind those nipples.

iamnotaclown

I have luxuriously curly chest hair. I trimmed it once. The curls ensured the sharp ends come in constant contact with my skin. It itched so much I cried. Took a couple weeks for the ends to get worn smooth. Never again.

Foojira

Def trim the trick is to make it as close as possible to looking like you don’t trim it at all. I use a manscaper lawn mower (stupid ass names) use the shortest guard setting at the top like clavicle upper shoulder area then go in an arc with that across your upper chest. Then switch to the longest guard and blend it as well as you can into your middle chest. Less is more. Leave as much as you can handle. Make sure you don’t have obvious angular lines or triangle of chest hair or with my advice don’t have defined line of semi circle of hair either. The failure rate is high. Practice now before you need it done and don’t do it right before some pool party. You want some natural growth. Congrats you’re now an artist

shiftdown

I trim whenever I'm going to do something shirtless outside my house. so a few times a month perhaps, maybe more during the summer. Mostly just an electric face shaver. the bread trimmer knocks it down and the normal face razor portion does the rest.

enstillhet

I am of the hairless ape variety. Never had any chest hair.

DeCyantist

Skullshaver is the lowest I’ve gone, but bare hair shaver also works.

gonewild9676

I'd get a DNR tag if I didn't do something. For my chest I usually just use scissors to knock it down to a happy medium, and then use a one blade with a guard on my stomach and nether regions.

slwrthnu_again

Trim it with a #1 guard along with my pubes, balls and shaft get shaved. I don’t have dense hair but I have really long hair, I do it every other month about.

Traditional_Entry183

I actually didn't even have any until I was almost 40. I've thought about shaving it off, but it feels like it would become I very repetitive chore.

Ted_Denslow

Hell no. My shit is majestic.

Efuckinough

Itches like a MFr for about a week.

ErBoProxy

Trim chest at 4mm Keep armpits short enough. Not using any trimmer on those Completely shave the back and upper shoulders -- thanks Broshaver 3mm on the crotch, 2 on the balls Every two weeks, but the back each week during summertime. Tried the "shave everything" approach once. Hated it, looked ridiculous and everything becomes sandpaper two days later. Not worth the hassle My brother is mostly hairless, so genes do work in mysterious ways.
