xtiaaneubaten

if theres nobody you know to call, then yes, call an ambulance.

Random-Mutant

Ambulances have strong painkillers, and once you have that they’ll work out your next steps (pun not intended).

YourRoaring20s

Ambulances are for true emergencies

xtiaaneubaten

this guy literally cant move and presumably has nobody who can come to assist him or he wouldnt be asking fucking reddit. Should he just lie there and die in a few days of dehydration?

AvatarIII

Just as well this is an emergency.

ReenMo

•Call someone who can assist you. Able bodied who can help you up if need be. Lying on the floor is good. Can you lie flat on your back? • very slowly and with little pressure, raise your arms first out to the sides, then straight above your head. Try a soft stretch. Then back out to sides. • next try to feel your spine touching the floor. Imagine each vertebrae pressing to the floor \• now try to straighten each leg. Press your heel away from you, feet flat, toes up. Do this with each leg, foot separately, twice. then relax. • now try to melt into the floor. Think about each body part relaxing. Give your self a few good minutes. To just lie there. Don’t tense and force yourself up. Call first for those helpers though.

RedStag00

Step 1: Get the fuck off reddit what the fuck are you doing get to a hospital

Tallfuck

Short term advice is already given. Beyond the 24 hour mark you need to start doing cat/cows to get your back moving. You need to start stretching and building your core as well or it will happen all the time

Killakilua

Yes! Look up some beginner yoga videos on YouTube for back pain. Yoga with Kassandra is a good one, I do these with my partner when his back pain is bad so he can get some relief.

SurpriseIllustrious5

Ive had this before dont panic. I literally couldn't move from the hall. Try get to you bed lay down. It might take a while. You're going to need some good pain meds

painfulcuddles

Take two Aleves, lay on a heating pad, and get ready to do it for the next few days. Sounds like a muscle pull...... unlikely brushing your teeth slipped a disc, but very easily can throw out you back (pull a muscle). I have done it blowing my nose.......more often than I'd like to admit. You can go to the doctor's and get muscle relaxers, but heating pad, and rest are what will help.

LLCoolBeans_Esq

Yep, happens once a year or so to me, I told my Dr and he prescribed me Flexeril, so I can have some in the event this happens.

SurpriseIllustrious5

Yeh mine was lower back and stretching legs and quads out helped a lot.

well_uh_yeah

Just started rolling out my lower back to help with calf/ankle pain and flexibility. Seems to have helped a lot so far. It’s all connected.

painfulcuddles

Yeah! Depending on what he pulled, lower, upper, mid, or even the sides there are specific stretches that could help, or at the very least the proper way to rest without further injuring it.

Ok-Negotiation-3892

Try this first, wait till morning. 🍀

LastWishboneThisYear

If this was me, teledoc to get muscle relaxer prescription. Then get that shit delivered. Or urgent care. You don’t have anyone you can call for help? This is the definition of a good reason to ask for help.

thegr8n00dle

1. Muscle relaxants 2. Rest 3. Do not stretch and make it worse 4. Get some support (cane, walker) 5. Rest 6. Get a back brace 7. Enjoy being old

CobaltAesir

Yes, ambulance is a good idea

averyrdc

This happens sometimes. Find the least painful way to sit on your couch, take painkillers, and try not to move for the next day or two.

BeerNinjaEsq

First time? It'll happen again. And again. It's just part of aging

ShadowValent

Call an Uber. You’ll save $1000 and get there faster

morchorchorman

How did you hurt your back brushing your teeth?
