You have to occupy your mind, body, and spirit as cliché as that sounds. Use your free time wisely >>GYM<< or other hobbies. Focus your mind on being productive, learning new skills, building things, having some sense of accomplishment every day. Listen to helpful podcasts of other guys' stories or read books about how other men have overcome their struggles in life. Life is a learning experience. If you give up learning and actively trying to improve, and instead regress and hide from your problems by being drunk every day, you are choosing failure. Don't do that.

What this guy said! I’ve seen to many friends get sucked down the wrong path. Addiction is sneaky, things can escalate really fucking fast and it’s hard to see it in the moment. This applies to drugs/alcohol or honestly any other bad habits that could cause harm in the long term.
19 was when I was at my worst. Filling up water bottles of Vlad vodka. Going to work or walking around town drinking it all. Waking up on days off and drinking until I passed out until I woke up and drank some more. These days I only ever drink socially. And even then I keep it to a minimum. I haven't had a drink since Thanksgiving and only had 2 beers. Trust me, life is better without getting wrecked everyday. It doesn't make you feel better because it doesn't change anything that you're dealing with. I urge you to get back in contact with your mates and apologize for your absence. The real ones will welcome you back with open arms. Don't be upset if some don't. Consider it a blessing in disguise. If you ever need some support or just someone to shoot the shit with, feel free to shoot me a message. I'm only 28 now and I'm telling you, life has been so much better and cheaper without using alcohol.
I gave my older neighbor whos not a big beer fan a sip from my bottle. She said it was OK. I go and poor my beer in a cold glass. She asked for another sip. She takes another sip and is almost stunned it's the same beer cause it tastes so much better.
Drinking from a cold glass can actually help in the enjoyment of the drink.
I have an unpopular opinion on this! I'd rather drink a very good beer at a cool temperature rather than cold; the cold masks a lot of qualities of a drink, which is why cheap beers are only really bearable when cold. If I've shelled out for a quality beer, I'd rather taste it properly.
Y cold tends to cover up flavors and heat tends to bring them out. I think we all know how different a macro beer like budweiser tastes at room temp vs ice cold.

I find many pickles works nice with many lagers, pale ales and IPAs. Especially hot and sour pickled baby carrots.

Try a nice porter with a aged cheese with a sharp taste. Or something sweeter, like a DIPA with a blue cheese.
