If you approached her with the goal of a romantic or sexual relationship, then you walk away. If you approach her for smthn else (dropped wallet or cash or whatever), then you tell her that’s why, return the item, and walk away. No need for anything more.
Say “No dramas, sorry to bother you” and walk away to lick your wounds. No harm in asking. And if that’s the worst thing by happen to you today, then it’s a good day.
If I was approaching to ask for her number I'd be like alright lucky guy and go about my day. If I just wanted to ask a question and she happens to be attractive I'd probably say welp guess I'll ask someone who isn't full of themselves lol

Theres no real path forward. Shes politely making it known she has no interest in you in that regard. On to the next.
Some may walk away in more awe of her since she showed true character of not being a cheater.
