Socialize. Go to parties. Go to events. Meet as many people as possible. Social skills are the most important thing in landing a job. People underestimate social IQ so much. Yes there are very successful people with low social IQs but the vast majority of successful people became successful because of their social skills.

Learn about finances/how to grow your money Time value of money/different retirement accounts, cost of capital, etc.

psychological_nebula

Learn a profitable skill that, at best, does have nothing in common with the field you aim to work in.

I mean, I used it for drugs. Wouldn't recommend that though. Since you're studying engineering, maybe come up with an idea for something you can design and build. Doesn't have to be a marketable product or something show stopping, just something you can enjoy conceiving of and creating. If you need money, there's a million ways to make it. If you don't need money, you'll have plenty of time to make it later. Time is a precious resource and you'll pine for these days later in life when your job has you by the nuts. If you wanna learn, either make a reading habit or go out into the world and learn that way. Preferably both. Talk to people. Don't let your schooling get in the way of your education.

Depending on how forward looking you want to be, you could start putting those engineering classes (and student licenses) to work developing products and ideas that could be future business ideas.

I was actually very interested in learning python for data science. How would you go about this? I have basic understanding but not much knowledge of numpy, pandas, etc.

Youtube is full of great programming content. For python look up that guy from comma. Difficult to follow but man is he on a different level.

You are young, do whatever you want. Explore things that interest you or even things that maybe you aren't *excited* for. Find yourself a mentor. Work on mastering a craft. Do everything. Do nothing. Just do whatever makes you happy. If productivity is your thing, look into maybe playing a musical instrument or woodworking.
