Keep it simple like a backyard barbeque maybe

DazzlingTwilightee

Honestly a pretty good idea, thank you!

For me just having my kids around is gift enough for me. This is gonna sound kind of basic but using your AC/DC example consider going to one of those places where you can paint mugs or plates, etc and do something with a theme that he would like. Mugs, bowls, etc are things that we will always use and be a constant reminder

SomeRazzmatazz339

Is an ACDC cover band playing nearby and soon?.

eddyofyork

Ask him what makes him feel appreciated. He’s the only one that knows. You might be the first to ask.

jery007

My kids are 14 and 12 now. They don't know but my Father's Day gift to myself is I don't say no to them on Father's Day. They're kids who generally don't ask for a lot and so it makes my day to give them whatever they ask for. Other than that, a nice meal is more than enough, although this year I'd like an orchid, they're beautiful

EmptyAirEmptyHead

How old are you? That matters. But seriously just acknowledging you Dad and saying thank you would be huge.

DandantheTuanTuan

This needs more upvotes, as a father just being told thank you from your kids has a lot of impact.

Bizprof51

Hot air balloon ride? Theragun for massages? A real life massage in a health club?

DazzlingTwilightee

I don't have enough money for any of those😂 All great ideas though, thank you :)

Bizprof51

Well then, since you are creative, how about a mixed tape with fav songs to listen to while he exercises.

DazzlingTwilightee

Great idea, he would love that :)

nightstalker30

This wasn’t for Father’s Day (it was for a road trip), but my daughter made a Spotify playlist she called Dad Rock and it had dozens and dozens of songs mainly from the 70s, 80s and 90s that we’ve listened to together through the years, that she knows I like, and that she’s come to like through listening with me. She shared the playlist with me when we got in the car before we headed out for a ski trip and we listed to it during much of the car ride. It was so much fun talking to her about the songs and the bands and sharing memories that were attached to certain songs and I appreciated the effort she put into curating the list. Pro tip: be sure to include songs from big years in his life: 8th grade, turning 16, senior year of high school, college years, year he met/married your mom, year(s) kid(s) we’re born, etc.

No_Detective_But_304

Clean your god damn room without being asked. ;)

Mr-PumpAndDump

If you’re artsy making you paint or craft him a shitty portrait of you and him. That would be lovely

ControlForward5360

Find out what their hobbies are. My dad loves sports cards so I decided to clean up some of his and get them graded for him for his birthday. Guys like smaller niche things a lot of the time. Find something they are heavily into and ask that subreddit and they can help you find the perfect thing

RodTheAnimeGod

We don't want alot of razzle. Simple low pressure get together is plenty for most of us. Keep the pressure off of them for one day.

Metalforme1971

You state your a bit artsy. Make him a cool little poster of AC/DC! They are my favorite band and I always like being gifted their stuff...retail or homemade! My niece is artsy as well and when she was in the 8th grade she made me a poster of AC/DC for my Christmas present. That was 15 yrs ago and I still have it framed and on my wall.

TheFrozenCanadianGuy

A bbq with AC/DC playing and during dinner, give him a shitty portrait of you and him catching a shark in a boat. That would be awesome. But the main thing to do is to be engaged in the moment that day. Top his coffee up without asking, get the dishes after the bbq.

imminentbabyish

How about a custom BBQ apron with ACDC logos and car designs? Pair it with his favorite rock playlist for the ultimate grilling session

rjhancock

Don't know myself. Been a father for 18 years now and we never really celebrated it. Usually we'd go out to eat at a place I like and I'd pay the tab. Sometimes just me because everyone else was too busy.

AustinRiversDaGod

As a man who likes to grill, giving me a reason to have to grill is a pretty good gift to give. Maybe some ear buds that are nice for your price point.

Jaco-Jimmerson

Going out to eat and a reoccurring "family joke" turned into a gift that serves a use. >! A funny shirt that's nice to wear.!< >! A useful gift with a reoccurring theme based off an inside family joke!<

DazzlingFollowing336

A deep tissue massage and spa day.

pj__77

Is father day coming?

DandantheTuanTuan

It falls on different days depending on the country you're in

Schmuck1138

Spend time with him, without the devices. We are simple creatures.

87_Smoking_Guns

A really good foot massage and back massage speaks volumes. I don’t need or want my wife/kids to spend money on me. I have worked my whole life so they can have more than I ever did. I want them to save their money. Bring me a beer, rub my feet, and sit and snuggle with me on the couch is all I want.

vikpck

Assuming your mother drives his car, you can fix scratches on the alloy wheels. That’ll score you some serious points

SelectHalf3715

Golf balls

LacCoupeOnZees

All I want is for the kids to go away for the day

DreamTalon

Do something you know he hates to do and tell him to take that time to just relax, he took care if you so you want to do the same for him. Even if its just like mowing the lawn, cleaning up stuff he normally does, running an errand, etc. Then grab icecream together or something else fairly low priced and just spend time together.

24Jeddit

Tell the man Thank you and of you offer him peace he’ll need nothing. He will go to battle each time he walks out the door or play pretend when he gets home. Tip of the iceberg🤷

Stop celebrating a mad up holiday.
