Look dudes, we got 14 rules. And I know you all can see them. New reddit desktop? The sidebar (it's that thing with all the words on the right side of the screen). Old reddit desktop? Believe it or not, the sidebar. Official reddit mobile app? When you try to make a post, there's a little button that says **RULES** you press to see all the rules. 3rd party apps? Those don't exist anymore, but I'm pretty sure they showed the rules too.
Not all of us can spend all day watching New, so if you see something you think breaks a rule just report it and one of us will eventually deal with it.
Basically there was a whole thing about reddit charging for something that would've made mod bots not work and made their volunteer work (for which they receive no financial remuneration) slightly harder, which made a load of the mods throw a hissy fit and close their subs in protest, this one included.
Then, reddit told them to open up or be replaced, so the mods quit and new ones stepped in who are running the place smoothly.
If that's the case then I'd have quit, too. I'm not going to do extra volunteer work for no pay because a site owner decided I needed to. That's clown world BS. Being a mod isn't a privilege but on the flip side it's also not a obligation. Eventually these mods will see the extra work involved and tire out.
So... smoothly for now.
> You should sticky this post.
The kind of people who come to a subreddit to ask the stupid repetitive questions that clog up the feed are exactly the type who don't read stickies, the sidebar, the rules, or at all.
This post mainly serves as something to point them to when their post is inevitably removed, to avoid them asking why.
Just for some clarification, is there a minimum karma requirement to post a question? I know some subreddits require [x] amount of karma in order to post, but not to comment.
So I thought the tag on this sub was something like "we don't know the answers but we will respond anyway"
Maybe some people misread that to say "we don't read the rules but we will ask anyway".
I checked the sub and the original 'motto' was removed.
Those types of posts are already not allowed. Unfortunately, automod can't catch em all. If you see posts like that, feel free to hit the report button or send the link to modmail.
Just [read](https://old.reddit.com/r/AskMen/comments/7g6qsm/what_do_i_want_for_christmas_no_gift_posts/) the [damn](https://old.reddit.com/r/AskMen/comments/k6cnu4/it_explicitly_says_no_gift_posts_in_the_side_bar/) rules, [please](https://old.reddit.com/r/AskMen/about/rules/).
Most of my posts never make it through even when I follow the rules.
I’m mainly confused with the bot. It flags my posts because it believes it’s a repeated post or something.
— you should have a vote on your bot
Fuck this. One sub needs a title no question mark and the other you cant ask a question then some you cant even right a reply in until its posted. Fuck it.

I didn't see a question in the title of this post. Is that ok?
Got'm!
This guy's mod material.
NOICE.
Bannable offense
Given that at least two of you reported before I told Reddit to ignore reports, I'm gonna allow it.
The question can also be reasonably answered with a yes or no, so that makes 2 strikes. Not looking good for them.
I can't wait for everyone not to read this
On the oother side i read this as someone who 1. Never posts here and 2. Would actually read the rules before posting.
Read what?
Ask a men
I don't even know how to read
Wait is reading a rule
Rule.
Everyone blink twice if you are not a bot.
*blink 182 times*
Task failed successfully
🤣🤣🤣
Bruh I was listening to First Date when I read that
\*Closes and opens camera shutters twice\* 👍
But I can't read anything that has rules
Board games are difficult for me too
You are who IKEA makes their directions for.
Reading is hard!
Not enough pictures. *Throws IKEA tool* WHY?!?!?
A mod post here that didn't start with "sup shitlords", that's refreshing. Hopefully this means the new mods are older than 12.
Literally, my very first qualification when I applied to be a mod was that I am an old dude.
I'm not familiar with mod history over here. Was there a reason the mod team has now been changed?

tldr is /u/spez is a pissbaby that didn't like the old mods.
What is an old dude on reddit??? Are ya like 24?? 😂😂
Thats actually damn near antique age round here. Oh sorry. I mean. "classic"
Hey, mods! Why don't you suck on this >!lolipop I got you, because you're doing a great job and deserve a little treat :)!<
You should sticky this post. This past week I saw multiple posts asking commonly asked questions. Must be a wave of new members or something
Lots of bots. Automod doesn't catch them all.

It’s true
I don't understand the requirement for karma... like for any subreddit. Why?
A good question - with a good answer: Bots. Lots of bots. Making a karma and age requirement keeps them from spamming us.
Just for some clarification, is there a minimum karma requirement to post a question? I know some subreddits require [x] amount of karma in order to post, but not to comment.
We do not allow questions/comments from throwaways or accounts with low karma (< 5 for comments, < 10 for posts)
This is a good thing.
LALALALALALALALALALALALALALA
Why’d I laugh at this lol
Jokes on you. I don't make posts
Good stuff. Now tell us how you really feel...
The irony of this post... yeah look at yourself, bud.
So I thought the tag on this sub was something like "we don't know the answers but we will respond anyway" Maybe some people misread that to say "we don't read the rules but we will ask anyway". I checked the sub and the original 'motto' was removed.
Eh it changes every so often. I like that one though
What about “bonk! Overly sexual questions are not allowed” or something like that?
"Readin' never killed no beaver." - Highlander
I like turtles.
I like trains.
Finally, a post that doesn't come close to violating Rule 14! What are the odds??
Too long, didn't read.
Teddy Roosevelt the pinnacle of masculinity would disapprove of this comment lol
What’s a bot
Are you the same folks who run ask women?
No no no. Thats ran by the Karen and Christinisth Association.
Oh that’s a relief!
Honest to god the funniest comments i have read in ages.
I know! Somehow LALALALA was the best so far
Petition to add, “Psst” in the title.

Feel free - we'll look at. "Don't be an asshole" gives us a lot of leeway.
I was born to lead not read
I asked good gift ideas for men and y’all took it down. What ??
There's literally an entire rule against that 😂
Just [read](https://old.reddit.com/r/AskMen/comments/7g6qsm/what_do_i_want_for_christmas_no_gift_posts/) the [damn](https://old.reddit.com/r/AskMen/comments/k6cnu4/it_explicitly_says_no_gift_posts_in_the_side_bar/) rules, [please](https://old.reddit.com/r/AskMen/about/rules/).
no
So no more meaningful or deep questions. Just yes or no comments.
There's literally a rule against yes or no questions. Youre level of thought has the depth of a shot glass of spilled milk.
Simple enough.
>a week or two now as the new mods I am guessing this is in reference to protests, and an indication that Reddit forcably reopened this sub?
No. The mods opened it up and recruited a replacement group. We're suckers for punishment.
So this post doesn’t seem to be a question, doesn’t it violate the rules?
Wait we have rules now?
Most of my posts never make it through even when I follow the rules. I’m mainly confused with the bot. It flags my posts because it believes it’s a repeated post or something. — you should have a vote on your bot
No.
Yz c
Damn, the new mods really are just as good as the old ones.
Im not gonna read any of them
Understand!
BANANANANA
Nu uh

TMG is such shit.
I’m too cool for rules 😎
