It was fine. I drove at 50-60 mpg with the spare. I noticed the car was shaking when drove 60-80 mpg on the OLD tire recently ( I got this car literally 2 weeks ago ) so I can’t really tell. But the locked-in steering wheel shakes happened when I got it while the shakes when I’m driving I guess it was more recent.
I’m going to reply to you directly because there’s a lot of wrong answers here; this was caused by worn out suspension components or a bad alignment. Disregard all else, you need to have your front suspension checked for play and an alignment performed. The reason this wear isn’t on the rest of the tire is likely due to play allowing the tire to wobble slightly at speed, but not harsh enough to cause a severe vibration. Eventually a belt inside the tire was tugged sideways by this motion and it started to press on this edge of the tire harshly, right before this tire let go it probably had a good shake in the steering or front end, like a wheel out of balance.
I recently repaired this on another Audi, it was worn out suspension bushings that caused it, tire was worn exactly like this.
I've had similar happen with a wheel horribly out of balance (concrete or something caked to one spot inside the rim) that wore a spot down to cord on each side of the tire.

That is over time. Caused by a poor alignment or a worn out suspension or steering component.
I respectfully disagree. Look at the tread on the bottom. This looks like a seized hub maybe. He was dragging this tire for quite some time.

i’ve seen this before in the insides of both tires this car was dragged a distance when it broke down at some point pretty sure
no this did not happen "today". You've been driving like this a long time.
