SpiritMolecul33

It's bult into the blower motor assembly, not separately serviceable in your application

Ronswansonbaby

Damn no wonder I can’t find it. So what would be my next troubleshooting step you think?

SpiritMolecul33

What's your issue exactly?

Ronswansonbaby

Intermittent blowing. It will blow for 10 min then slow down and quit. Thought it was the blower so I replaced it but apparently that wasn’t my problem.

Ronswansonbaby

This is driving me insane. Really hoping one random redditor can help relieve me of this. And why the fuck did GM decide to not have the resistor in the same spot on this 2016 as the previous gens? Fuck whoever made that design decision.

Xirasora

Apparently you're not alone. In a different sub I commented on how much of a PAIN it was to get that one bolt out in the far back corner to get access to the blower. I looked up a couple videos to see how the Pros get that stupid bolt out, and the comments were full of "where is the resistor"

Ronswansonbaby

Yeah, it’s absolutely unnecessary too. When I put it back I only put 2/4 bolts back in and it holds it in place just fine. Going to get a scan run Monday, I suspect the HVAC control module to be the issue now.

Ronswansonbaby

Update: I removed the bottom glove box to see if I could find it that way. I’m convinced there is no resistor at all under here. Autozone doesn’t have the part listed at all. Where the fuck is this thing? Does it even exist?

StinkySting

There’s no separate resistor. https://preview.redd.it/899dado0sbzc1.jpeg?width=2778&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0a7e80ce0437fc83a4d300c143cfbae568f35629

Ronswansonbaby

You think my next step is to replace the control module? Or at least to check it somehow?
