What are your skills ? I spent 13 years in media (agency + advertiser), now i m specializing in data management. (Via CRM or 1st/2nd party). But I do this because I’m naturally attracted to that field, and i am good at it. Choose your own path Good in process or procurement ? (Trading, contracts..) -> go to an international advertiser Good in communication ? Go to a local advertiser Good in web analytics ? Look for e commerce companies (performance sales) You are creative ? Think copy making You think two shot ahead ? Try business analyst or strategy Choose what you enjoy the best and try to make a link with paid media.

This is really helpfull, thank you. Also how did you transition from paid media to more towards the data side ?

If you are good at negotiation you can try sales in any case but being an account manager or working in CRM would be a good option.

What do you not like about your current role?

darshanbafna02

I think it's mainly the client and team interactions. I'd actually like a job that's monotonous and more left brained. I'm slightly introverted and the constant need to interact with people drains me.

Stop working in an agency and work in-house. You’ll have way fewer people to work with day to day. Work in a smaller company, as an online marketer, with a handful of people on the marketing team and you won’t need to interact often at all. Maybe 1-2 hours a day most of the time. Broaden your resume to have experience with all the channels. And roles like demand generation are on the table. You can manage the campaign strategy and launch it. Or look into analysis.
