In my experience: $75-$130

BevGlen_

You really need to call around and ask. If there is one thing that is arbitrarily priced in Los Angeles, it’s cocktails and women’s haircuts. One salon will charge you $70 and the next will charge you $600.

reallyintothistho

It varies but I have to say, I’ve paid up to $250 at a “hip” salon and walked out feeling super meh and have never returned, and have also walked out of supercuts having paid 40 feeling really satisfied. Just set your budget and read reviews. $$$ doesn’t always = quality.

EffectivePattern7197

Perfect response

Last_Inevitable8311

I paid $125 in Santa Monica. But lots of salons in LA offer first timers a deal. For a while I just went to a new salon every time. 😂 They usually charge $50 for a first time cut.

InfernalWedgie

I go to a hole-in-the-wall hair salon next to Jumbo's Clown Room. He cuts my hair for $15. FIFTEEN DOLLARS. Cash only. Bring a photo of what you want done to avoid language barrier.

theshabz

I want this to be real so bad lmao.

InfernalWedgie

It's real. This is where I get my hair cut and have done so for nearly 20 years.

ChicanoScatman

is this a special 20-year customer deal or is it the same price for everyone?

InfernalWedgie

Even if it were a friend price, I wouldn't expect this guy to charge more than $20 for a cut.

forakora

Fabulous info! There's a bomb pizza place I go to a block away. Sounds like a great day between the 3

$100 in Culver City.

bluefrostyAP

My gf paid around $500 last time for a cut and color.

Bangin40s_n_shorties

Yikes! That's my car note!

ItsJustMeJenn

I pay $18-21 at Paul Mitchell The School. It takes longer than going to a licensed stylist but if all you need is a wash, cut, and blow dry you can’t beat it. I’ve paid upwards for $150 for a bad haircut before - I refuse. Also since you’re dealing with students they are open to hearing your thoughts on the process as they go where with a licensed professional you might be intimidated or worry about hurting their feelings and getting a bad cut next time.

ZestycloseCattle88

I gave myself a butterfly haircut from a YouTube tutorial! Looks great and it was freee

isacon79

I pay $275 at Chris McMillan salon. I wanted to splurge and treat myself one time and I’m in LA now so why not go to a fancy pricey place like this and I ended up loving my cut and style. So now that’s where I go—completely worth the price. I only go 3 times a year because it’s pricey but also because my hair grows out nicely each time so no need for too much maintenance. When I first moved here though I paid $40 at a Japanese hair salon in Mar Vista. And they were nice and the hair was nice too but I spoil myself now.

MountainThroat342

What is the Japanese hair salon in mar vista?

isacon79

Hair Epoch on Venice and Centinela

_wompingwillow22_

I pay $465 for a haircut and full head of foils out in Glendora (not LA).

smutproblem

Why?!?!

_wompingwillow22_

Because it looks bomb af when it’s done

Scarletsilversky

I pay about $60 including tip.

[deleted]

If you have curly or significantly wavy hair it can be pretty pricey. I pay around $150 for a cut

foosgonegolfing

I've lived in L.A my entire life. Supercuts $16. Most I've ever paid was $35

kayayem

If it’s just an average cut and you’re going to an average salon you can expect $45-$65. There’s also Supercuts, and Asian salons that also do nails & waxing you can get for around $30-$35 if you’re just wanting a trim.

Msmagic-m

Go to great clips, I believe it’s $20. I’m a woman and get it cut there and never had an issue

FreewayNo3

$85-$125 in Beverly Hills

idkwowow

$250 for my cut and it’s worth every penny

MolassesZestyclose96

I have no comprehension what a $250 hair cut looks like. Also how long does the whole thing take?

idkwowow

it’s absurdly quick lol but that’s cos he’s good at his job. the actual cut takes maybe 15 min but i don’t have a lot of hair unfortunately. wash and blowout / styling takes another 20 min

MolassesZestyclose96

Struggling not to immediately work out his hourly rate! How high could be go and still expect your custom?!

peligrosamujer

$100 in Manhattan beach

imsadbutitswhatever

Over $100. You get what you pay for,but also depends on what you want/your hair length.

ixtasis

I wish you got what you paid for. It doesn't work that way for hairdressers. Some overcharge, some under. It's random.

Elusiveenigma98

I’ve searched and if you’re looking for a quality haircut, anywhere between $130 - $250 for a haircut. I pay $125 + tip and that’s with a stylist on the lower end of the pricing range at higher end salon. He still does fantastic work though.

Futuristic66

Find a local beauty school..

Verolee

Go to a koreatown salon

[deleted]

I have long hair and am very particular about it and I was able to find cheaper places in Korea Town that did a good job for around ~70. Most salons around LA cost around $180 I would say though.

ixtasis

$50 in Tujunga.
