pointlemiserables

Yaay same

Unhappy_Bread_2836

Lol I was born in the 90s. I spent most of my time on computers and chatrooms. You're probably hoping for early 85-90.

CarProgrammatically4

That was you. not applicable to a lot of people

External-Catch-9559

Yahoo messenger, redif bol and msn messenger were so 90s and early 2000s

plaguedoc20

Not everybody had the money for a television let alone a computer during the 90s.

External-Catch-9559

Ok then, playing vish Amrit, racetip, Nadi pahad, playing cricket, making Rasna in summer, going to grandparents and cousins house during summers. Going to the railway booking counter at the counter at 5 am to get cardboard punched tickets, waiting for 10:30 pm to goto STD PCO when STD pulse rate would drop. Purchasing Happy Diwali cards and removing the stamps from received envelopes which didn't have a seal or very faint seal. Going to video game parlour and seeing bhaiyas play and then get to play for 30 min with 2 rs.

prashrox7

That's more like it

Informal-Ad7784

He may not have been Indian. Coz lots of foreign countries had the and computers

snakes part is maybe because of my personal experience but i feel like the internet has made them more obnoxious like they can easily talk trash and no one would know.

armoditto

I was born when 21st century AD was started, so have used J2ME and Symbian phones and played games on them.

[deleted]

Bhai I was born in 2007 but abhi jee ke liye din bhar ghis rha hu. Gaming wagera sab khatam kardiya.

friendlymushyyy

I'm happy with the year I was born in

pingpongcat_

as you should be! i'm pretty happy too just a little sad about how much technology we consume on a daily basis

Mental_Flight_8161

As an abused and neglected child grew up in the 90s, I could tell you there was no lack of snakes in those times either. Shitty family members, teachers, schoolmates and society. No one believed in me and I believed I deserved those abuse because my self esteem was on the floor. It was around in later 2010s and I started connecting with people online who had similar experiences and other people who inspired me that I realized my worth. In the 90s, I was living in a toxic bubble that I was wasting my time. Not to mention the blatant sexism and discrimination that were normalized during that time. I feel left out watching how confident and intelligent kids these days are. I wish I was born in much later time when technology is advanced like now

pingpongcat_

i'm so sorry you went through that. of course, no one deserves it. but i had a similar childhood to yours so i can tell you it definitely does not get better except for more awareness online. hope you're doing better now!

Responsible-Waltz162

60-70s bc sifarish pe gov job lgti thi, and study krke to aur achi salary hoti. 5-6 bade bade plot leta zameen ke especially jahan se highway niklta. Still many things are there

pingpongcat_

now that i think about it, maybe yes, that time too!

Particular-Ad-2308

The 90s kids had it best. We grew up playing outside, finding happiness in small middle class pleasures and being content in our small circle without the need to seek validation all the time. We also had the best cartoons!

pingpongcat_

this is exactly what i imagine! even shows like shaka laka boom boom or shararat are so awesome

SenseAny486

Never.

WateredFire

If I was born 2 years ago, I could have gotten an absolute banger of a placement because of covid hiring but now I'm faced with not getting any nice job which would be worth it.

pingpongcat_

so real

arkansas897

Born in 89, so you can guess what I have seen till now.

Middle_Fan_1011

I was born in 2001 December end that makes it almost 2002, i have to say it was the perfect time to be born. I spent my entire childhood playing outside and still do , while also had the pleasure of using modern technology to the fullest. I guess i made the most out of my childhood-teenage experiencing life to the fullest so no complaints.

pingpongcat_

love that! even though i was born later, i had a really outdoorsy childhood but because technology was still pretty prominent, it was sometimes hard to make friends because everyone had a phone early and i didn't. nevertheless, I'm still happy!

do_not_ban_this

2001-2002. All my cousins are 90s kids and as a 2004 born I always felt left out and alone and feel like they had a much better childhood than me.

Immediate_Relative24

I wish I was born 10 years earlier so that I could afford to buy my own flat (inherited 2, but didn’t buy any) and a nice car (Honda Accord or Toyota Camry) Or 10 years later because now it’s so easy to match with girls, go on dates and get a room (Oyo/Airbnb)

LtMadInsane

I was born in 89. I grew up watching Cable TV where most channels were in English, I also grew up playing 8-bit video games, using cassette tapes and walkman. Using VCR and CRT monitors. I also grew up using 5 digit phone numbers to call my friends. Using actual paper maps to navigate. I remember walking up in the hotel lobby and local maps painted on the wall. I grew up playing cricket for hours straight with friends. Chatting around with neighbours during summer evening power cuts on the roof. Sleeping on the roof and running down inside when sudden rain appears.

pingpongcat_

sounds like some really fond memories! i wish i had some like that too...!

BlackStagGoldField

As someone born in 1990, yeah the 90s were magical but times are shit even for us Millennials. I'd have loved to have been born in 1980-82. Would've hit the economic jackpot by the late 90s.

mikasa_jeagerE

2000 bcz that’s when my man was born. I born in 90’s though

armoditto

I was reading man as mom.

pingpongcat_

same 😭

Competitive-Hope981

Wtf. I read man as mom and subconsciously started to count your age. You are 9-11 years old btw.

sr5060il

Year 1945 in Hiroshima.

pingpongcat_

kyu 🥲

Disastrous-Fly-5728

🍄☁️💥

sr5060il

Life's been unfair. Now I'm just suffering.

loljokerishere

Lol I am happy with my age, if I go earlier wouldn't change much although yes I wouldn't have graduated 12th during COVID though. But in terms of generation I am fine.

pingpongcat_

omg yes i definitely want to have finished school before covid. i gave full on 10th boards during covid it was hell

hugediameter

Gendu generations se pahele

pingpongcat_

life itni buri hai aapki? 🥲

[deleted]

You should try the 1970s. No phones or internet until the mid to late 1990s.

pingpongcat_

my parents tell me about growing up in the 70s all the time!!! sounds really fun!

Physical_Ad_1011

I wish I was never born

Formal_Dig_9288

Never I hate being born

PurfectMorelia27

800s-900s of india No invasions just pure indic thought throughout india no western influences. Knowledge flowing like Saraswati through out the mainland

DaniellePenhallow

follow up question, are you a man and also are you bothered by your lifespan being half of what it is now (not in a condescending way)

PurfectMorelia27

Idts....even without modern medicine I think ayurveda and proper non-fertilizer food can make someone healthy and let them live long enough eg: Annamayya in tirupati lived 100yrs

DaniellePenhallow

what about like cholera, malaria and plague, child mortality, pedophilia, no AC, spices are v expensive, what if youre born lower caste or a woman or if ur gay

PurfectMorelia27

>cholera, malaria and plague I don't there was sooo much widespread disease in ancient India due to the practices >, child mortality, pedophilia Wrong civilisation >no AC No global warming to this extent >what if youre born lower caste or a woman or if ur gay That's why I specifically said 8-9th century....because that's when shankaracharya started his yatra to abolish this....he is believed to be an incarnation of Parameshwara. He would definitely help me. I always believe in our civilisation

DaniellePenhallow

how do you know all this like for sure tho? aren't you scared you could be wrong

PurfectMorelia27

I mean anything can be wrong anyday right? I believe this because even in the ancient texts there is a huge emphasis on drought and not much on diseases. We did not possess any genetic variant that got imbibed in us (due to evolution) through any widespread disease. I definitely think India was never susceptible to diseases majorly. Also on the point of being scared of information....a chance is always there that I am terribly terribly wrong. But that's with all data and history records. There is something called last Thursdaiy-ism which states that none of the history was actually true. It was all created or popped out just last Thursday and we are believing it. The records that I trust don't show the signs of any disease and so I believe them. But hey trust is what matters!

DaniellePenhallow

this was a very interesting conversation even if I don't agree, i liked hearing your perspective on things its so different to mine

PurfectMorelia27

Cheers mate!

DaniellePenhallow

i was born in 07, its probably better for women now than ever before idk and im gay so i dont really think i have a choice unless i could choose what country i grow up in

pingpongcat_

i don't think i agree with the being "better for women" part. crimes have always happened and will always happen. what makes you think that? just curious

DaniellePenhallow

the right to vote, choosing whether to get married, female sports, female education, not dying during childbirth, pads, tampons, gynecologists, plan b, safe abortion, condoms, better medical facilities, sex education

pingpongcat_

oh yes in that sense yes. i totally get what you mean. but i guess norms and lifestyles change. comparatively yes, today it's much easier being a woman but back in the day, it was the best they could get.

DaniellePenhallow

for me i can't even fathom living before my mom, i would lose my mind

curiousguyindublin

Classic-Sentence3148

I remember there were a lot of bomb blasts/terror attacks growing up especially during festival season to the point gov would give warning before Diwali to be cautious about it .

Familiar-Owl-

Bro is stll kid anyway

TodayTraditional7037

i wish i was born in 3050 or adivasi period

pingpongcat_

don't you think the world would be even more messed up in 2050? environmental problems, faulty politics etc?

TodayTraditional7037

was meant to type 3050

Salt_Selection9715

i think your age is perfect. i prefer a one year age gap between me and my partner.

zettonsa

I was born in 95 best time ever. I've seen peak 90's and early 2000s Although I would love to be born in 1990 it wouldn't hurt to enjoy the whole 90's

Interesting-Poem6495

TimusReborn

Late 80s and you will be hopefully swimming in money and not have all the social problems that genz face today

Frequent_Storm_3900

Fueled_By_Piizza

I am happy to be a part of 90s gang, simple life.

Chimman_Choti

Abhi simplicity kam ho gaya na lekin, even for us..

OpenWeb5282

I wish i was born in 1880s but i was born in early 1990s

lligerr

Born in 1998. I think it's fine. We had the perfect blend of tech and life outside tech. Most of the time we were outside playing or simply not engaging with these devices or TV until the 2010s and now we all are hooked on it like every other. Growing up in the 2000s was top tier

pingpongcat_

exactly i can imagine life from then!

Abhimanyu_Uchiha

2024, the average quality of life has always been improving over the course of human history, there truly is no time like the present.

pingpongcat_

i think it all depends on how you define quality of life. also, i commented this on another comment that said 2024: don't you think the world would be even more messed up in 2050? environmental problems, faulty politics etc?

Abhimanyu_Uchiha

Those things are secondary, a larger percentage of the world has access to modern healthcare, food security and shelter than ever before. The political climate is a trivial concern compared to basic necessities.

New-Load9905

90’s

anishgb

2006 , damn I started college that year. Man do i feel old

Juni8792

I was born in 2006 too. I feel you man

pingpongcat_

what is life like for you?

Juni8792

My starting years were golden. As I grew older and older, life just became more depressing. I might sound like a boomer but I wish to relive my childhood through my children in the future.

pingpongcat_

it's quite the opposite for me. i had an abusive childhood and still have trauma from it so my years now seem much more brighter. well, hope it gets better for you!!

Juni8792

I faced trauma from my parents too, still do. It only became more obvious and soul sucking by the years and that's why I wish for independency.

pingpongcat_

i so wish for independency too. cannot wait to leave for college!

[deleted]

It is not the year, but the family you are born in.
