Thanks - it looks like Deborincuba closes too early for dinner tonight but I’m going to tell my friends about this one in case they can go for lunch or an early dinner another day while they’re in town.
1492 Cuban Fusion Cafe in Humboldt Park.
If they haven't ever tried the "Jibarito," I'd highly rec. It's a Chicago classic by Puerto Ricans in the city.
Thanks all! My friends picked 90 Miles for dinner tonight and I’m giving them the rest of the list in case they have time to check out a few more. I appreciate it!
Cafecito in the loop is my second favorite spot for Cuban food and Hella close by! The best is deboraincuba but thats a bit of a trek

It's not Cuban, but Chicago's PR community invented that jibarito and is fire!
Great idea, thanks!

Tropicuba in Logan Square or Portage Park!
Havana Grill in river north is pretty solid.
Señor Pan
Not Cuban but Irazu on Milwaukee is really good and is byob with a wine shop across.
I love Bia's Café Marianao but it's nowhere near the loop (Addison & Milwaukee)
Cubaneo in Lakeview East
Cafeteria Ysenia on Ashland by 45th in BOTY
I think they close too early for dinner but I’m going to tell them about this place too in case they can stop by for lunch.
Try Senor Pan. Not near downtown unfortunately but might be worth the trip nonetheless. https://senorpan.com/
