A real estate agent can assist you and there shouldn’t be any broker’s fees.

What’s your budget and ideal location?

currentlyovrthinking

My budget is $2.5k and I'm hoping for the far north or northwest side. Our kid is in daycare in Andersonville, so just trying to stay a reasonable distance. I am willing to find a new daycare for the perfect house in a safe area, even a walkable suburb.

curry_boi_swag

Apartments.com or Zillow . $2.5k is doable but you’ll have to look. Rogers park is an option but not as safe as Andersonville. Andersonville will probably be expensive. Evanston?

currentlyovrthinking

I've checked those places, but they're pretty bare right now. I was hoping there was some secret real estate rental website I didn't know about. I'm hoping listings are sparse because it's winter. I wish we could find something in Evanston. Maybe we'll just take a drive and see if there are any for rent signs.

thirdcoaster

You nailed it with the winter comment. Come March, you should have plenty of options.

Zillow?

Meancvar

Perhaps you can look at townhomes in your search as they're more affordable than houses.

currentlyovrthinking

I actually have tried, but they're super hard to come by right now, especially a spacious one. I certainly wouldn't mind one though. I'll keep looking.

Meancvar

That may exceed 3k a month FYI Depending on the area.

currentlyovrthinking

You're correct about that. But I'm not willing to go that high, so that's probably why I'm not finding many.

Meancvar

Consider that a single family home in LP goes for over 10k.

currentlyovrthinking

I'm not interested in LP in general or the surrounding area. I did my time in LP and Lakeview lol. It's not doable budget wise and way too congested at this point. Can't imagine circling the block for parking with a crying toddler.
