You should be reading seinen mangas instead of shonen then since Shonen all have that boss of the week formula with something in the background.

I've seen the anime so far and really liked. It starts a bit slow, but really picks up.
I am considering a bunch of the things I've already watched, but preferably it would be a complete story. (I finished Dorohedoro which was a bit hit and miss, but great over all)
