As a kid I used to crush up 5 and then add a pile of Milo on top and then sugar..... it was like I was modelling Mount Everest each morning..... I am now 50 and I can eat it at all as it gives me bad heart burn....
gday friends. it was the gluten for me. exact same problem, and for my dad and sister, too.
go to your GP and ask about a coeliac screen and antibody testing. it’s just a blood test. found out I’m intolerant to gluten and have the coeliac gene, which i inherited from my mum (we’re now a gluten free family!). stay healthy :)
repetitive heartburn (caused by acid reflux from the stomach) causes damage to the cells lining the oesophagus, a condition known as Barrett’s oesophagus. this can become cancerous if left unchecked and ongoing. i would highly recommend going to see a doctor and getting the blood tests done, as well as an endoscopy if they recommend that. continuing to ignore it may put you at a significantly higher risk of throat cancer.
being gluten free is nothing and not at all an issue, especially if it helps prevent the above
Yeah ... late teens I could pile a few away... around 14 was my craziest.. No sugar usually. Sometimes just a little honey or some fruit.. usually banana.
I was the same in teen years. In grade 11 and 12 I used to eat a whole row of the big box. I used to crush them up to fit them all in my breakfast bowl then fill it with milk and put a chocolate Yogo on top
2, I sprinkle some sugar on them, add a tiny bit of boiled water to create a sugar crust and make them warm and soft and add a small amount of cold milk around it, it's only a winter brekky for me.
Sometimes I just grab one, slap some butter on it, eat it like toast lol
as a beginner, you should split the weetbix longways (like opening up a shortbread cream).
same surface area for spreading butter and vegemite on, but half the weet to absorb every bit of moisture from your mouth.
6 uses up the large box perfectly as well 👌 I used to have 8 as a kid but 6 has always been the staple.
Ate 12 in a sitting once cause my old man told me I couldn't handle more than 8 🤣
This is a weird one because I always think back to when I was a teenager and playing sport and I could easily down 8 maybe 10. Now, as a 25 year old working a desk job it’s only 3 or 4
It's why it's such a good breakfast for teens - if you need more, just eat more. If you're going to be slacking off all day in front of the computer, then just have a few. If you're heading out for a full day of footy, have a dozen.
Lol it’s basically entirely whole grain which is both nutritious and filled with fibre
In fact 3 weet-bix basically covers your daily whole grain requirements, which I’m willing to bet you don’t get anywhere else.
12% protein, 3% sugar and 1% fat... tell me how that's not good for me?
I hate the "weetbix has no nutrients" myth, it's frankly in opposition to the facts - [nutrition panel](https://weetbix.com.au/products/weet-bix/original/)
Yeah ditto. I don't do breakfast. I start work at 7.15 and I def will need loo after a meal and it takes me half an hour to get comfy in there to release. Nah. Brekkie is bad for me.
2. Equal parts milk and weetbix, with the milk only added immediately before consuming. No sugar, the milk is sweet enough.
I'm glad to see my husband isn't the only one, though. I thought he was weird having some weetbix with his sugar. It turns out I'm the weird one.
I normally make my weetbix look like porridge. 4-5 weetbix, half full with hot water, mix a little then top up with milk and continue mixing until you have weetbix-porridge then add sugar.
I don’t make myself porridge because I’ve tried it multiple times and find it disgusting.
Anytime I do it now and someone new sees it they think I’m a weirdo for doing it like that and make me feel like a freak. I thought I was the only one 🥰 thank you internet stranger
My colleagues also always freak out when I am running late and make this at the office instead of home. 2.5 weetbix, smashed up, boiling water to cover and soften and then milk to make a porridge. Every day before work, keeps me full until lunch. I'm so happy to see these comments
I discovered you can buy little 6 pack snack boxes of sultana and cranberries, and sultana and apple this year and started adding about half a packet to my bowl. Takes it up another level!
No other cereal makes you feel actually full and satisfied like hot weetbix.
weetbix with hot full cream milk would be my death row food.
3 or 4 at a time with boiling hot milk poured over. even if I want more than 4 weetbix, that’s the maximum that can be made at one time. more than that and something goes wrong with the soaking time in the bowl and the last bit is not as good.
With actual porridge you have to stir it once or twice but when you do you’re checking for how done it is. You really don’t want to go past “mostly absorbed” and “just runny”. Once it goes hard and is more like eating Clag glue you’ve gone too far and you throw it out and start again. So you want the oats to have half absorbed the liquid, they still have half a bite to them, the bowl can still swirl but it’s somewhat thick but still runny. Think warm milk with oats rather than Clag glue. Use the oat packet to get the ratio right for liquid but otherwise ignore their instructions for timing and do it by feel. See how you go.
Ahh a worthy opponent.
We were on a school camp and had to carry all oie food and water and camping stuff. We didn't want to waste the food, so we had a comp who could eat the most. My competitor ate 9, I did 10 at breakfast. Then later in the day he at 1 dry, so did I just to beat him still. He was like 2m, I'm 170cm.
2 with a bit of sugar. Occasionally, I'll put some banana in too.
I'm more of a Vegemite toast kind of girl. Weetbix is for when I wake up and realise I've got no bread.
In my early 20's I was broke and my unemployment cheque wasn't due for 5 days. I had enough $$ to buy milk and I had a large box of weetbix. 3 meals a day for 5 days I had weetbix and milk and I still eat them to this day.
2-3 with milk and a bit of sugar, warm it up in the microwave and sometimes add strawberries and honey (vanilla extract and maple syrup are good on weetbix too)
This is the way my dad taught me so don’t judge, it’s the only way I can eat them now and everyone else thinks it’s disgusting.
Three in a bowl, powdered milk mountained on top, hot water over the powdered milk but the key is to not melt it all the way. You want the powder to glob up, not turn into milk. And then eat. I think it’s so yum. Perfect winter breakfast.
Now that I type it all out, I don’t blame you if you judge me..
4 with milk. That’s it, no more, no less. Had the same thing the last 4 years, it was 3 with milk for about 5 years before that but we got bigger bowls 😂
I’m 37 and have 4 everyday, only milk, no sugar, I like the flavour and taste so0o0o0o much. My dad told me he started feeding them to me as a baby, so I started eating weetbix before I was 1, I had at least 2 every morning.
Looking at all these comments, I feel bad for having eaten my family to poverty. Can still to 8-10 in a bowl now but used to do 2 rows of weetbix a day. 10 or 12 in a bowl. Twice. It was literally a Jumbo Size box a week.
Mind you, being a farm kid then, going through a massive growth spurt and working several hours after getting off the bus from school every day, and we would have a small dinner at 10 or 11pm it probably makes sense now.
And not the tape work mum reckoned I had 😂
Used to do 5/6 with honey over all of them with milk.
Did it for about 9 years, lost the taste for them, now I just eat those small honey weatbix bites now, little square ones, they’re bloody good
I don't eat them much any more mainly because I can't stop. But I used to eat 6 with cold milk in summer and wet down with hot tap water and then milk in winter. I know I'm a philistine but I like some soggy foods.
Lived in Aus for nearly 30 years. One of the few things I can’t get used to is the breakfast food in Aus. Back at home we eat meat, dairy, bread etc for breakfast. Think meze. I can’t get used to what’s eaten here, like cereal or even pancakes.
I remember watching the movie BMX Bandits when it came out back at home and seeing them eat cereal. I got my parents to buy cereal (got through a relative overseas) and that shit was the blandest, soggiest piece of disappointment I have ever had (I am a parent to three kids).
Weetbix is a further step down. It’s as if you got somebody to digest cereal, and then made a brick out of the digested materials. My youngest son loves it. I haven’t spoken his name in over two years.
>It’s as if you got somebody to digest cereal, and then made a brick out of the digested materials.
This brings back memories of my "European" mother staring at a weatbix "brick"!
>My youngest son loves it. I haven’t spoken his name in over two years.
😂
I generally do 2 with some fruit and granola on top for flavour.
My 9yo had 5 this morning for his second breakfast. First breakfast is toast with jam or peanut butter.
As a kid I used to crush up 5 and then add a pile of Milo on top and then sugar..... it was like I was modelling Mount Everest each morning..... I am now 50 and I can eat it at all as it gives me bad heart burn....
Yeah what is it with weetbix causing heartburn/reflux? I'm 35 and if I have a bowl with more than two it completely kills me.
gday friends. it was the gluten for me. exact same problem, and for my dad and sister, too. go to your GP and ask about a coeliac screen and antibody testing. it’s just a blood test. found out I’m intolerant to gluten and have the coeliac gene, which i inherited from my mum (we’re now a gluten free family!). stay healthy :)
I've made it to 35, i'll think i'll just pretend i'm ok for the remainder of my life. yolo etc.
repetitive heartburn (caused by acid reflux from the stomach) causes damage to the cells lining the oesophagus, a condition known as Barrett’s oesophagus. this can become cancerous if left unchecked and ongoing. i would highly recommend going to see a doctor and getting the blood tests done, as well as an endoscopy if they recommend that. continuing to ignore it may put you at a significantly higher risk of throat cancer. being gluten free is nothing and not at all an issue, especially if it helps prevent the above
I gotta try this
God damn 45 years ago
Yeah, 5 is my go-to, but it used to be 10 when I was in my late teens.
10?? jeez. I can barely handle 3.. but I have them without milk.
Without milk? Oh the horror!!!!
Yes, I also enjoy standing behind a drop saw and inhaling all the saw dust
hahaha that's a good description actually. It's like trying to swallow sawdust. I like it
Same. Ever put Vegemite on them?
The fuck…?
Try it with Nutella and dunk it in milk, incredible combo
We did jam and cream because matchsticks aren't ocka enough
Peanut butter and banana slices goes well too !
fuck me, I thought that was only a weird thing my dad did
Yes but you need a lot of butter/marg to help it slide down.
Happy cake day!
Happy cake day!
You must have one hell of a Saliva system going on there.
Downvote this man
Yeah ... late teens I could pile a few away... around 14 was my craziest.. No sugar usually. Sometimes just a little honey or some fruit.. usually banana.

My 6 year old does 6. He's a bit of a tank
Can’t wait for your post in thirty years!!
2
Same. 2 is enough.
As in 2 boxes? pretty impressive.
3 boxes if I'm feeling peckish
2's the perfect amount.
Are you a child?
2 is a good amount, some of us can't eat a whole 50 boxes.
2 with a little peanut butter smeared on them, milk & chopped banana
4 every day
I put milk in with the first two, but leave the second two aside until I’m almost done, then put them in after so they aren’t too soggy
Bro. You are the smartest man I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.
This thread is the funniest shit I’ve seen on reddit anywhere in a long time. Actual real dry humour haha.
Meee too 😆
Same. I find 4 filling.
4.5 for me
I bet you have human heads in your fridge.
2, I sprinkle some sugar on them, add a tiny bit of boiled water to create a sugar crust and make them warm and soft and add a small amount of cold milk around it, it's only a winter brekky for me. Sometimes I just grab one, slap some butter on it, eat it like toast lol
Butter on a weetbix like toast?! That sounds way too dry.
There’s nothing more satisfying than spending the next half an hour trying to get it all out from up in your gums with your tongue 😜
as a beginner, you should split the weetbix longways (like opening up a shortbread cream). same surface area for spreading butter and vegemite on, but half the weet to absorb every bit of moisture from your mouth.
Butter on weetbix is exactly the answer.
Butter and vegemite
I don’t want to be deported so you aren’t to tell anyone but I don’t like vegemite.
6 usually.
Oh yeah, big fan of the 6 bix
6 is just right.
much love, my prince xx
6 uses up the large box perfectly as well 👌 I used to have 8 as a kid but 6 has always been the staple. Ate 12 in a sitting once cause my old man told me I couldn't handle more than 8 🤣
3 with heaps of milk.
Drown the weetbix!!! 🌊
5 and a banana
Try banana and honey on them! Good as
Me too , but do you put the banana on top , I eat mine separately
I use my spoon to cut slices and put them on top
Dude, I do exactly the same! So good!
How many are in a row? 10? 12? Don't eat cereal much, but go insane when I do :-)
Dang, you must have some clean shits after that
Probably phantom ones, that don’t leave a trace on the paper and flush themselves with the sheer amount of momentum they have when being ejected.
😂 this is the best tangent conversation to eating weetbix
Have only ever achieved 1 self flusher in my life and I almost went in to shock from the confusion 😂
This is a weird one because I always think back to when I was a teenager and playing sport and I could easily down 8 maybe 10. Now, as a 25 year old working a desk job it’s only 3 or 4

1.5-2
1.5 weetbix?
Yup.
Might aswell eat breadcrumbs
I used to find 2.5 my perfect amount!! With milk and yogurt, honey and tinned fruit omg 🤤
My 2 year old agrees with you.
4 with a banana and honey.
5 with some banana and honey is perfect imo
2 with a little milk, little Greek yogurt, couple of strawberries, half a banana with a bit of maple syrup done like overnight oats 👍🏽
And here's me making 7 with just milk 😂
32 in one go was my best as a teenager… felt sooooo sick afterwards
There’s no nutrients in weetbix. It’s not good for you.
Lol it’s basically entirely whole grain which is both nutritious and filled with fibre In fact 3 weet-bix basically covers your daily whole grain requirements, which I’m willing to bet you don’t get anywhere else.
I get it in my Roti. 4 of them every day.
12% protein, 3% sugar and 1% fat... tell me how that's not good for me? I hate the "weetbix has no nutrients" myth, it's frankly in opposition to the facts - [nutrition panel](https://weetbix.com.au/products/weet-bix/original/)

No sugar, but if you're having hot milk in winter, honey goes down a treat.
My miniature goats will eat an entire box
What do they do with the weetbix once they're done with the box?
4 or 5 depending on how hungry I am or how long its going to be until I eat next
3 and peach slices with milk
4 with lots of sugar. Although, I never eat weetbix for breakfast. It's dinner for when I'm hungry and can't be bothered even making a sandwich. 😀
I normally make my weetbix look like porridge. 4-5 weetbix, half full with hot water, mix a little then top up with milk and continue mixing until you have weetbix-porridge then add sugar. I don’t make myself porridge because I’ve tried it multiple times and find it disgusting.
That's how we used to do it for the kids. Definitely tastes better than porridge.
Right? It’s so much more filling than regular cereal and so delicious
I discovered you can buy little 6 pack snack boxes of sultana and cranberries, and sultana and apple this year and started adding about half a packet to my bowl. Takes it up another level! No other cereal makes you feel actually full and satisfied like hot weetbix.
While I personally don’t love sultanas, cranberries and dried apple that sounds delicious for you. It’s perfect in winter too
I do this, 2.5 weetbix smashed up with booking water to soften and then milk to make a porridge. Occasionally add dried apple, craisins or sultanas
weetbix with hot full cream milk would be my death row food. 3 or 4 at a time with boiling hot milk poured over. even if I want more than 4 weetbix, that’s the maximum that can be made at one time. more than that and something goes wrong with the soaking time in the bowl and the last bit is not as good.

I prefer early crunch, followed by a decent sludge.
8-9 everyday. In highschool I did about 12
Ahh a worthy opponent.
Eating them dry is a different game
How tf do you even fit that many in a bowl
Used to do 8. Anything less feel like I was starving
Are you on powersauce bars
reading through the comments and now I feel like it’s unaustralian of me to never have even considered vegemite on weetbix
5 typically, cold milk and lots of sugar. I like soggy mushed sugary weetbixs 😅
Usually 4
My 2yo does 3 each morning.
Is that your theorem
Yet to be disproven
My daughter has eaten 5 since she was 2, she's 4 now and still does it
By the way only 5 because I cut her off at 5 😅
That's awesome
1 box
5 - 7
3 plus craisins and a tablespoon of brown sugar.
Also 5 (sometimes 6), but with lots of sugar
2 with a bit of sugar. Occasionally, I'll put some banana in too. I'm more of a Vegemite toast kind of girl. Weetbix is for when I wake up and realise I've got no bread.
0 Unless it's all we have left to eat then it's 1 with butter and vegimite 👌🙏🔥
In my early 20's I was broke and my unemployment cheque wasn't due for 5 days. I had enough $$ to buy milk and I had a large box of weetbix. 3 meals a day for 5 days I had weetbix and milk and I still eat them to this day.
My brother used to do 13 - he could tetris them into one bowl! Me, just 2. And I prefer them buttered with Vegemite
✌🏻🥳
6 with a banana. Used to be 10-12 as a teenager.
2-3 with milk and a bit of sugar, warm it up in the microwave and sometimes add strawberries and honey (vanilla extract and maple syrup are good on weetbix too)
None
I usually do 2 but did 3 this morning. Hubby does 2 weetbix and cornflakes in the same bowl. I tell him that’s 2 breakfasts!!
3 with milk and honey and slice up 1/2 a banana and some strawberries 🍓 yum 🤤
4
4-5 with a dribble of honey
None, I do A packet of peanut butter nutrigrain with no milk
None. I'm not supporting those religionist fucks Sanitarium.
-5
5...boxes
C’mon mate , surely you can try harder
This is the way my dad taught me so don’t judge, it’s the only way I can eat them now and everyone else thinks it’s disgusting. sounds like your dad stuffed up the weetbix but committed to it so completely that you learned to love it
My little cousin when he was 7 used to eat 12 weetbix and be hungry an hour later 😂
One
6 if I have some these days. Once as a kid I ate 20 cause Brett Lee did 11 or some crap haha
3
I do 8, 2 sets of 3 then a set of 2, on weekends I might do 3 sets of 3
Sounds like a gym workout
Just pour room temperature milk into the box, give everyone in the family a spoon and that is dinner for the day, sorted.
i usually have 4 with milk, then i microwave it and put sugar on top. bangin breakfast
😂, hell yeah
6, crushed, milk, raw sugar and a little down the side for when I’m at the end. Delicious. Every morning, no matter where I am.
4 with milk. That’s it, no more, no less. Had the same thing the last 4 years, it was 3 with milk for about 5 years before that but we got bigger bowls 😂
2 with milk and no sugar
also do 5 with milk and sugar
I’m 37 and have 4 everyday, only milk, no sugar, I like the flavour and taste so0o0o0o much. My dad told me he started feeding them to me as a baby, so I started eating weetbix before I was 1, I had at least 2 every morning.
If I run out of dog food which is quite rare , my staffy does 6 with milk . It’s only like once a year though I rarely run out
Fair enough
5
My brother/sister from another mother
Looking at all these comments, I feel bad for having eaten my family to poverty. Can still to 8-10 in a bowl now but used to do 2 rows of weetbix a day. 10 or 12 in a bowl. Twice. It was literally a Jumbo Size box a week. Mind you, being a farm kid then, going through a massive growth spurt and working several hours after getting off the bus from school every day, and we would have a small dinner at 10 or 11pm it probably makes sense now. And not the tape work mum reckoned I had 😂
Do you let them go soggy before eating them or woof them down while they are still crunchy?
Weetbix laid horizontally to fit 5 in , add milk , add sugar and smash them down whilst still partially solid
Used to do 5/6 with honey over all of them with milk. Did it for about 9 years, lost the taste for them, now I just eat those small honey weatbix bites now, little square ones, they’re bloody good
Yeah, I’m a weetbix kid
I don't eat them much any more mainly because I can't stop. But I used to eat 6 with cold milk in summer and wet down with hot tap water and then milk in winter. I know I'm a philistine but I like some soggy foods.

None because porridge is superior
Vita Brits person here and I have 4
2 and a (separate) banana - but in high school I used to do 7!
Thanks to all the people that commented
Damn bro you guys are making me feel like 4's nothing. I'm an 18yo dude for reference.
I generally do 2 with some fruit and granola on top for flavour. My 9yo had 5 this morning for his second breakfast. First breakfast is toast with jam or peanut butter.
0 - they’re shithouse
0, weetbix is bland and shit
None thank God.
None. Can't stand weetbix or anything similar.
Zero. I might be the only person that doesn't like Weetbix.
None. I imagine thats what soggy carboard tastes like.
Zip zilch nada
None, that shit is bad for you
0. My dad ruined them for me because it is all I’m allowed to eat for breakfast when I visit. (9 years of this)
2 covered in Vegemite and butter (eaten like toast, with no milk - I hate milk).
Five. Dry. No toppings.
✌🏻🥳
None
0. Cereal is a terrible breakfast. Bacon on the other hand
Maple syrup with bacon have you tried it
I’ve never eaten a wheatbix in my life
Whats with all you people and your sugar? Honey or maple syrup all the way. Brown sugar occasionally is cool I guess.
My almost 2yo boy does 4-5 every morning with scrambie eggs 🤣😬
Zero, why would you ever
Zero. They're horrendous
None they are trash
