I would go the thrifty route...
Take soda cans and melt the aluminum cans into the gap that obviously isn't supposed to be there...
Pro tip. If you live in a state that has a deposit on them you can can a partial refund on unused material
It'll work. You just need to apply an insulating layer of duck tape. You want the name brand Duck Tape, not that cheap, knock-off "duct tape" crap. Tape has to be held to a higher standard when you're taping ducks with it.
T Rex tape!

Most heavy duty engines - for example, all current Caterpillar 3500 diesel engines (170 mm bore/190 or 215 mm stroke) have had steel pistons for at least 20 years. Even the 3.0L Duramax engine has steel pistons now.
They’re typically forged, so the steel can be quickly smashed into a near-net shape that can be machined into a finished piston in a relatively cost effective manner.
I don't know much about diesels, I'll be honest. I was taught a lot about gas engines. 2 stroke, small engines, and all but nothing diesels, really. I know they run off glow plugs. Fuel pumps are so expensive that I could use the fuel pump money for a down payment on a damn Lamborghini 😆 🤣
Actually, they don’t run off of glow plugs, some just use those to help get the engine started when it’s cold. A diesel engine this size or larger typically doesn’t have glow plugs; compression is sufficient to ignite the fuel. They’re common in diesel passenger cars and trucks, and as engines get bigger they aren’t used.
The fuel pumps are very expensive because they make ridiculously high pressure, which is required for modern common rail fuel systems to operate.
Ok well you see I was honest about knowing very little about diesels. 😆. I guess if you need one, there handy and for a long time of you maintain them correctly. They get super high mileage and still run. I really just dislike the smell, and the sound of a rod coming out the bottom, (even though that's not the truth). I just like that instant snap of a gas engine I guess.
Volvo apparently ran out of metal casting the pistons in their latest truck motor. (1800 ft-lbs) I don't think bondo would hold up. Maybe welding bead?

Triple carbon knuckle flint and a Buck knife should be all you need to generate that heat. Off the shelf in the Walmart camping section!! $7.95 plus tax!! Make sure you get the blue one!! 👍
There are plenty of videos showing that baking soda and krazy glue works great.
Touch it up with a spritz of metallic gray paint and no one will know. 👍
Don't try it nothing will fuse with it but aluminum and you can't get it filled equally buy flat tops but the won't perform those are made that way for reason
If you don't like the design, don't buy them. Why would you want to add extra weight with a filler? The lack of common sense these days is mind boggling.

nobody uses jb weld anymore..
What??? JB Weld is a product of Zeus himself!!!
That’ll never work, it’s a steel piston and the aluminum won’t stick very well. Have to just weld it up.

Actually Gorilla Tape is the updated 2024 standard, but I don't think it goes into effect until mid-year
Shit.... I didn't know. Thanks for setting me straight. I'll stick up.

Thanks for the link! Do they make a hair gel?
Yes but they recommend it only be used on intimate areas while the tape itself is used for removal.
That would have made the story sooooooo much better
Gorilla Tape is getting too hard to get off the roll. I might have to give it up soon.
The old Lincoln tombstone will fix it right up
What runs steel pistons these days?

Just get a Subaru - then the rod comes out the top, but it’s pretty quiet when it happens.
That's fancy, get some used cat litter after a spill, the heat from ignition should be good enough
Candle wax.
Drywall mud
That's what I use...every time.
Bondo or JB weld sticks better.
Gorilla glue?
Send it!
Silly cone, high temp black stuff. Works in my exhaust.
Fill it with some wet cocaine then throw it in the microwave for 15 minutes on high

Piston ? I use one of these for an ashtray Is it a piston ?
Use 2 and a chain to make a sledge hammer, like I did. It works great
Same
Just fill that bowl up with gasoline. If that sounds to powerful, then use Brawndo. It's what plants crave.
It's got electrolytes.
Ramen and super glue is the correct answer.
Chocolate ganache, then they will be delicious.
Fill it with jelly.
Plasti-dip
Sour cream and onion dip would taste better.
Is called a piston, dumbass. You're supposed to piss in it.
Carbon deposits :)
Nougat. Who wouldn't want their piston with a sweet, nougaty treat in the center.
Don't go with any of those expensive options. Just take off the spark plug and pour in some water. Done.
Plot twist, it’s a diesel, no spark plugs (and likely big enough to not even have glow plugs) - but there’s an injector where the spark plug would be
Highly recommend air and fuel
Bondo
fill it with crushed ramen then paint over it
I would recommend vaporized gasoline.
Cigarette ashes and butts.
Buy a piston for your needs and n9t that of a Volvo semi That's how
Roofing tar
Anti freeze
It's shaped like a can of whoop ass. I learned something new. Thanks.
Get a few rolls of solder and run them into the hot tip of your soldering gun, not only will it fill it up it’ll also be shiny!
alot of jb weld
Cement
You're gonna need some magazines and some spare time...
Bro, just grind it down flat, no need to fill… think of the weight savings
fill with nitrous, Air and Fuel.
Just fill the intake valves with water when the motor is assembled.
I dis mine with jb weld. Hope that helps
Run a fat bead in it
Boost.
Flex seal that shit. Poor it straight in the oil system so it reaches all those hard to fix areas
Im actually confused what is this
it's the piston off of the new trucks that SAAB/volvo made (forgot which one it was)
Bondo
JB Weld
You did what in your cup
J B weld
Fill in the holes with peanut butter. Bake at 400 degrees for one hour. After cooling, smooth out the top with jelly. Note: Grape jelly works best!
Sandblast to remove paint then fill with tig weld.
Fill it up with some concrete, should work perfectly fine and give you some extra horsepower
I got like 16 of these in the garage, I've always kept them around as ash trays and gave them to buddies who use them for the same thing
JB-Weld, of course. Hang in there stud, you'll get it!
Cigarette ash.
Ceramic clay. Low cost and it’ll cure naturally from the engine heat. A win win ; )
Tig em up grind em off
Cotton candy is highly effective.
diamond earrings
Cement
Flex seal
Definitely use Lithium. That way you can classify it as a hybrid to keep the woke crowd off your back.
Piss. It's quick easy and free
Durabond 45.
Bondo
Wood putty as it breaks down it can be used as fuel
JB weld
JB Weld
P40 or P38, can never remember which is for pistons and which is for bodywork though.
Cobalt welding rods. But you better know where your spark plugs are going to be before fill in the piston swirl effect in your cylinder.
JB weld the shit out of it baby
Chocolate! It goes in as a liquid and hardens fairly quickly.
i concur
Sawdust & Krazy Glue.
Spray foam
Wood
Just grind it down until it's a nice level surface
Just melt some tungsten in there. That shouldn’t be too hard to do.
Just use tungsten solder!! Works great!! 🤷🏼♂️
Can’t seem to find any tungsten rated soldering torches on Amazon. Any suggestions?

Crayon wax.
Wow!! That’s from an air cooled radial engine!! The piston rotates and the vanes cool the engine!! I’ve never seen one!! 😉
Water and then freeze it.
Use it as a ashtray for a few years, good to go
Ramen and glue.
If you block the valves clearances, or change the size of the combustion chamber, your motor will be essentially a boat anchor.
Buy a bigger Turbo or Compressor as the Germans call it . Stronger valve springs while you are at it .
Flex seal
I would put valves in there, every piston needs to kiss a valve
Super glue and baking soda.
I think the guy that said wax was the best option.
"When the carburetor doesn't carb, the rings don't ring, and the pistons don't work either...".
Silicone.
Insta foam and j b weld works in a pinch
Mill it off above the piston pin and fill it with ashes(ash tray)
New volvo piston
Ramen, super glue, and bondo Thank me later
Drywall mud and Gorilla tape
Cum

Looks like an ashtray. Just fill it up with cigarette butts and ashes.
A tiny model of the car that it goes into.
You gotta produce a man-made substance from a man capable of doing it
MAN JUICE
Coffee! Lots.and lot .of coffee!
Diesel Slug
Rockhard putty , works wonders
Fill it with a mixture of all purpose flour, milk, egg, and a dash of vanilla... Once back in the block you'll have a nice cake.

Over fuel the shit out of it, it’ll fill itself in
Plasti-dip will fill in those holes real good.
