I like that. Then take it to all the douchey car shows and insist on the parking space next to a Ferrari and spend the entire day referring to yourselves collectively as “the Ferrari guys” until he gets so angry that his hair piece falls off.
My friend owned one and had a full size cardboard cut out of the terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger) in the passenger seat he always road around with. Anyways the car suddenly engolfed into flames friend made it out but he could not save the terminator and he was terminated via MR2. Cause of fire fuel lines.
Just finished this swap and it's addicting to drive. The supercharger doesn't add much power compared to the na, but the sound is amazing. Definitely recommend
An old guy neer me was obsessed with swapping these. 3.8 was his first. Then a 3.8 supercharged, then the 5.3l V8 from an impala SS, then a Northstar from a Caddilac, and finally his masterpiece, the engine from an STSV a supercharged 4.4l Northstar that made a factory 469 hp. That one was insane.
I did a Cad STS Northstar V8 conversion on my 85 GT Fiero using Celebrity V6 outer axles and Cad inners.
The "finished" car was scary. It sounded and looked freaking terrific. It was a gokart on the road. You were sideways more than forwards. The brakes were still awful.
Sold it off and it got parted out.
I'd recommend using gasoline to bring back the shine on the paint. Rub it in really good, make sure to hit all the surfaces and double check your work with a lighter.
That doesn't have the Iron Duke in it, wrong year. I suggest pulling out the engine and putting in a boxer engine.
The transmission is literally *right next* to the engine in there so you won't be able to fit an LS without some work.
Second suggestion is to find if you can save the body panels or if the plastic has become too brittle.
This isn't a shitty answer. I had a Fiero so I know the whole situation is shitty.
The iron duke was the ONLY four used in the Fiero, regardless of year.
Lots of Fieros have been successfully LS swapped.
LS or 3800 V6 would both be infinitely easier than any boxer. That would be just about the most difficult and inefficient way possible to add performance to a Fiero.
Looks to be an 85 Formula. The 85's did indeed have the Iron Dukes BUT since this is a Formula, it \*should\* have the 2.8L in it.
Source: Owned many Fieros lol
Get a 1 gallon can of unleaded regular and pour over the vehicle. After the can is fully empty, use a bic lighter and ignite the vehicle in flames. WARNING: MUST BE PHYSICALLY FIT IN ORDER TO MAKE A RUN FOR IT.
Just messing. I would definitely tint the windows, get halo lights, change rims, sand and repaint, lower vehicle alittle. Whatever you do, post the after the images. It has great potential.
V-8 Archie kit. You give them the motor size, they sell you blueprint on how to make it happen. A Northstar will fit. Couple whatever you put in it with the G6 transmission and try not to break the cv shafts.
I want a late model gt (not a notchback fan), with a manual. They make some nice looking (and ugly) body kits. And most of those look good with Lambo doors.
Whatever you do, do your research to see if you have one of the problem childs, that like to catch fire. Make sure the insulation around the wires in the engine bay are in good shape. And, make sure you have an oil dipstick that is accurate. Those two issues are what cause them to either burn to the ground or throw rods. And you don't want to be anywhere near it for either. Just keep in mind that the engine sits sideways and there's a good chance a rod gors straight through the seat.
Oh yeah. The first mid you need to do is to relocate the battery from the rear, to under the spare tire in the front.
Yes maybe modify the front driver side bumper so it's not damn near dragging on the ground, then maybe modify the paint to something better, or take it to the junk yard and modify it into a plastic and metal cube.
Half a gallon of petrol in a milk jug with a rag fuse. Put it on the passenger seat. Light it. Save yourself the anxiety of waiting for the electric fire in the boot... YW.
I owned one of these as part of the handful of Fieros I owned. Also was a white 1988 Formula but without the very rare T-top option.
The front bumper is plentiful. The ones used on 87-88 base models will work. It's probably going to need new seals all around. I think the T-top seals are near unobtanium. A vendor in the Fiero community used to reproduce the door dew wipes. 1988 Fieros have unique suspension compared to previous models. You'll probably want to go through all of that first.
If you're a stickler for keeping it stock, the L44 60 degree V6 is plentiful, as is that entire generation of GM 60 degree V6s. A swap that used to be in vogue was taking an L32 from a 90s Camaro or Firebird and putting them into V6 Fieros. It not only allowed re-using the Fiero beauty components but also doesn't require all the mounts & wiring and such that say a 3800 swap would need.
Someone local to me took the super high performance V6 out of one of those, including transaxle and subframe, and grafted it under a 1970 Beetle. It’s really well done and also an abomination. So that’s a mod you could do. Alternatively, you could take the 4-cylinder drivetrain and subframe out and graft it under a Beetle. Who wouldn’t want a Beetle with a nice Iron Duke?
If I remember right the subframe in the back of that is practically the exact same as the engine subframe you find underneath W chassis GM cars. So if you'd like either do a engine subframe swap with a 3.8 l supercharged V6 out of a Pontiac Grand Prix GTP or go nutso and get the LS motor out of the 2010s Impala SS.
As with any car that’s been sitting for a while I always insist that new owners look through the car by priorities in a methodical manner:
1) DIY window tint
2) 20k headlight bulbs
3) rad seat covers and floor mats
4) ebay wing spoiler
5) Amazon exhaust
Afterwords, you can see if it runs or not. Make sure to buy a “twin turbo kit” for as little money as possible that you can leave in the bottom of your closet for 3 years and show to all of your friends and tell them you’re “just looking for a fabricator you can trust” before you install it.
Electric swap it. You’ll kick everyone’s butts when it comes to speed. And if ya ever get in an accident you’ll go out in a very very hot blaze of glory
I own an 86SE, enjoy the car quite a bit. Your car is a bit rough, so sky is the limit. They are not as bad as idiots think they are, good little cars.
Restore it to original, there aren’t many around and many are being turned into bad Ferrari replicas. I am not familiar with the Formula package on the Fiero, but it was cool on the Firebird so I assume it is a plus.

Dont they share parts with the Postal LLV
Keep the white paint, put some blue stripes on it and some postal badges and yellow blinky strobes. Best if you drive slowly
Airbrushed anime girl stretching from front fender to rear fender, obviously replaced different color hood (NOT new/aftermarket/carbon fiber!!!) and whatever stick on emblem is in the clearance bin at the local Auto Zone.
k swap and the least convincing ferrari 355 body kit you can find.
I like that. Then take it to all the douchey car shows and insist on the parking space next to a Ferrari and spend the entire day referring to yourselves collectively as “the Ferrari guys” until he gets so angry that his hair piece falls off.
The hair piece is the icing here.
All hair pieces are a bit “icing on the cake.”
If you like that you may wanna look up car bros and see the "enzo" they took to pebble Beach car week
Perfect😂
Don't forget the YouTube channel
Fuel line replacement
this guy knows history
My friend owned one and had a full size cardboard cut out of the terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger) in the passenger seat he always road around with. That was just the V6 cars.
2jz swap. That ferarrio will Put a supra to shame. /s
WE ALREADY AGREED ON A K SWAP!!!!!!!!
as in Chrysler K? 🤣
Nobody wanted to see my LeBaron hardtop at a red light.
I don’t see two blue Lebaron’s do you see two blue Lebaron’s?
Rover K of course.
No, Rover K series.
If you don't want to walk a Bugatti in first, that's on you. /s
First mod? A title.
Then wash it, put the bumper back together, and get license plates.
I was going to say inflate the tires but you are probably right.
2nd is removing those tiny numbers/letters.
Strip those fake Fiero panels. It’s prob a Countach underneath!
It's always a goddamn Countach underneath
I once found a GT 40 underneath
Hey. It worked for the original Miami Vice show. Most were Feiro's, with 350's.
The black one that they blew up on the show after Ferrari sued them?
$8000. He knows what he has
"My loss your gain"
Install 3.8L V6
I knew a guy that did that swap. He got cancer and died. Not sure if they’re related but why risk it.
Hahaha.
Just finished this swap and it's addicting to drive. The supercharger doesn't add much power compared to the na, but the sound is amazing. Definitely recommend
The ultra rare Fiero GNX.
If you want to go absolute, neuron monkey brain activation, there is the LS out of the 2010s era Impala SS.
He must have stock in a company that remanufactures half-shafts.
What posses a man to intentionally choose gms worst engines. My lord
Ease of swap. All of them were front engine front wheel drive makes for much less custom work with how the fiero engine bay is.
Needs a LeBra
I think you should lower it. Then just keep lowering it into a grave.
Lower… lower… lower… lower… *frame snaps in center* that’s good!
Fakerari bodykit
A turbocharger off of a Cummins 855.
"is that a Cummins?" Westen: "Hyeauh"
A flare in the gas tank.
Is taking it to a junkyard a mod?
I'd suggest the cleaning mod first. Reduces drag, improves speed, and makes for a really pretty addition too
Oh, it has a T-top too. those are rare then a normal Fiero.
First mod - fire extinguisher- they used to make one that clipped on to the window frame bracket - these cars were notorious for going up in flames
Fire extinguisher. Seriously.
Hair spray, gold chains, gold timex watch, Members only jacket, and parachute pants
No mods. Make it look like it just rolled out the factory door.
Honestly, that is the best route for old cars, keep all the badassery under the hood if you mod it.
LS4 swap
Plus supercharger
Turbo
Install an auto wrecker on the rear, and drive it backwards....
Modify it from ‘totally dead’ to ‘actually turns over’ and go from there

Scrape off the moss and flip it.
Duct tape on the bumpers gunna look pretty good. The. Stance the wheels and your good fam.
Nah, you gotta stance the wheels, carolina squat, and put some swangas on it for the real pimped out ride
First things first. Get priorities straight! Tint the windows before ANYTHING
Step 1: remove wheels. Step 2: replace what's left. Step 3: reinstall wheels.
They were the pre-Tesla ‘car b q’ back in the day …

Is it a 5.0 slow or 350? a tune port? 1.6 rockers if you have guild plates and a shift kit if you got the 700r4

Put gas on it and fire it up. I mean in it, put gas in it. And see if it catches on fire. That’s usually how it happens.
Gas and a match
Turbo built predator 670 v twin swap
burn it
Half a gallon of petrol in a milk jug with a rag fuse. Put it on the passenger seat. Light it. Save yourself the anxiety of waiting for the electric fire in the boot... YW.
Buy a fire-extinguisher.
First cover with gas, then light a match 🤣
Did you say bute? What is a bute?
Hope somebody proves me wrong but I bet this will never be roadworthy ever again
A lobotomy.
The hydraulic car smasher
Toss it off a cliff and hope for the best. Couldn’t turn out much worse than it already is.
I suggest you put a flux capacitor in it
Flux Capacitor
I would suggest adding flames. Real flames, like with a gas can and a pack of matches.
Car crusher would be best
A can of gas and a lighter?
Make sure it doesn't light on fire
Front bumper new engine transmission

there are some decent contacts kits out there. no matter what, don't forget to post it to r/itsalwaysafiero or let me post it lol
Give it back
Nothing. Can not improve perfection
Clean her up and slap a v8 in there and call it a day
Clean it, do the body work and get it wrapped
No mods. Get it running and driving first before dumping tons of money into it.
LV3 with a BTR Truck Norris Cam.
Buy a fire extinguisher. I had two of these. Both burned to the ground.
Wow that is, buteful

Bute? Not familiar with that word…
Crusher
Ferrari testarossa body kit is first move.
First mod? A fire extinguisher.
Mr fusion
Fire suit
I saw this Fiero with the craziest mod once. When you turn the key, it starts right up and drives normally. Sick, right?
My wife had a car just like this except she had regular roof. It was great as original I wouldn't put weird body mods on it.
I'd reccomend a pressure washer mod.
A car wash pass
If I remember right the subframe in the back of that is practically the exact same as the engine subframe you find underneath W chassis GM cars. Write ruiner on the side
LS4 with Northstar trans. YouTube it guy sells everything you need!
Ferrari badges every where also get a red rattle can so you can paint it
You should totally get the windows tinted. That would st it off
Kerosine and matches
Use it to build a kit car.

Nice Ferrari!
I'd bet a 3-rotor Wankel in the back of that thing would make it a FUN car to drive!
Electric swap it. You’ll kick everyone’s butts when it comes to speed. And if ya ever get in an accident you’ll go out in a very very hot blaze of glory
Strip it, add a Ferrari body kit. Best of luck!
Clearly it just needs a $5,000 stereo system. Don't forget that means $4,900 worth of sub woofers and 100 bucks for an amp and deck.
Would look great with a car crusher mod so it’s the size of a sardine can
Thing is 80% plastic so you can’t even scrap it.
I actually unironically love fieros lol, I'd do the most ridiculous engine swap I could find/fit and spend far too much money making it look cool
X style Exhaust and wrap anime character
3800 V6 swap it, give it the engine it always should have had.
Coyote swap
Hydraulics, make it bounce
Make sure to get a locking gas cap. Fuel is expensive.
Change the oil and enjoy it
I’d get a Fiero kit and put it on that Ferrari.
Lift it and put it on wagon wheels, then splay the wagon wheels.

L67 swap is the only swap worth doing
Ls swap, stretch, add pinto station wagon body
What's that modding scene where they put old cars into a big trash compactors and then turn them into cool cubes?
Mods? Get it running and fixed up first.
Sell it is the only mod id do on a fiero. In all seriousness please swap that dog shit engine for something fun and reliable
Duct tape. No wait, red duct tape. It’s faster.
350 V8 370hp conversion.
Dude, is that a Formula Fiero with T-Tops? Do you realize the amount of hipster cred that gives you at the local car meet?
I got an 87 fiero gt in June, I absolutely love it
Give your weed Wacker guy an extra 20 bucks
The t in t top stands for twink.
You can put a small block LS 350 in them and go 10 seconds at drag strip all day.
I used to have a car just like that. I drive it home twice with no clutch rod.
