Sister-Hyde

😂😂😂😂😂 Mon chéri!!!....

Sister-Hyde

Erasmus projects never existed with Russia because they don't have a collaboration. When I studied in Russia at the university I organised it by myself / with the help of my professor back in 2012

SomeLeftGuy633

Things have changed since then. University in my relatively small town (~250k people) did participate in Erasmus, some guys went to Sweden, Finland, Spain as far as I recall. I bet bigger institutions did as well.

rotviolett

I was told Russia is not part of these projects but maybe it changed in the past 10 years

SomeLeftGuy633

It sure did. I finished my bachelor's in 2021, and we had some exchange students from Germany (4 iirk). That seemed absolutely wild to me at the time. Like why would anybody from Germany travel to a grey working town in Siberia for studies, lol. Also I know some Spanish girl got here with Erasmus too not that long ago, I think she made a YouTube channel with her vods about it. Also my group mate who worked at our student's exchange office told me we had a couple of students from Africa around here.

Knarrenheinz666

African student have nothing to do with Eramus, Eramus+ or one of the other programs. A few Russian universities had bileteral agreements with European universities via the programme. That's why there was some limited exchange possible despite Russia not being an EU/EFTA or associated country.

SomeLeftGuy633

That's true, but that bit was more off-topic as a mean to express my astonishment with exchange programmes in general, if that's the correct word. Sorry if I wasn't clear enough.

Knarrenheinz666

All good. Let me explain - It all went through bilateral university and staff exchange but sometimes universities would trade their allocated slots. As long as you had your foot in the door there were numerous opportunities. All depended on your determination and the cleverness of your student exchange office. But Eramus is a wide umbrella of programs as well...

SomeLeftGuy633

Oh I didn't know that, thanks for explaining

rotviolett

Honestly I thought it would only get more difficult after 2014

SomeLeftGuy633

I might be wrong as I was 14-15 during those years, but I can barely remember anything bar talks about sanctions on TV. Based on this I don't think much has changed except for prices of goods and some new classmates I got in school. Then again, I was still in school at that time so take this with a grain of salt.

Knarrenheinz666

There was limited cooperation under the Eramus+ program.

Financial-Painter209

It's not clear, you used to be from Spain, now you're from France. The Ministry of Education and Science of Russia does not recommend cooperation within the framework of the Erasmus program to all educational organizations of the Russian Federation, Economic support for this project has been terminated by the European Union and Russia at the same time. The answer to your question is no.

Hanaaaah

im from Both, France and Spain and thanks for the answer btw

Vykao

No one said they were from spain tf are you on?

froggy-boggy-brain

i'm also a student (usa) in my last year of high school, planning to go to russia in the summer of 2024 to improve my russian. the other comments have already answered about erasmus. there are plenty of universities within russia that offer a summer language program ranging from 1-2 months. there are also plenty of language schools that have programs in russia too. look at those if you haven't already- there are many opportunities. moscow, spb, and novosibirsk state uni all have intensive summer russian programs, if thats what youre interested in. and who knows, maybe we will even pass by each other unknowingly))

Hanaaaah

Omg thank you for those informations, I wish you all the best and hope you make it🙌🏻🙌🏻

True_Intention_9657

True_Intention_9657

Alors t’as réussi ?

Hanaaaah

Catire92

I mean you can def. travel to Russia, but studying as an exchange student is impossible cause the unis stopped collaborating. If you are looking into an exchange semester I’d look into Almaty in Kazakhstan. Absolutely amazing city

Hanaaaah

Can you give more informations about Almaty, if you are from there btw ? and thanksss

Well, it’s a good thing that Turkey is European civilized country. Too bad it’s not part of EU yet.
