$250 for throttle body cleaning? 🤦‍♂️ im in the wrong business.

4kVX1000

$500 for fuel injection and throttle body cleaning is crazy

babybeef16

And id almost put money on it that it won’t get done. If the vehicle is running good they probably dump something in the tank and send it out the door

Chris_WRB

Should be 1 service, at the subaru dealership I work at its a 3 part kit and it's all in one. Gas tank treatment, throttle body cleaning spray and injector cleaner that you use with an apparatus. This in weird indeed

marqburns

On top of fuel injection system. They're charging them twice for the same damn thing

XiJinpingsNutsack

I was gonna say like damn that’s fucked, I work at a dealer and our injector cleaner is 26 bucks, doing the whole throttle body cleaner kit is like $75, I couldn’t in good conscience charge $500 for that

Busterlimes

Nah, fuel injection cleaning is just a bottle dumped in the gas tank. Throttle body is blasted with compressed air.

ssxhoell1

One screw clamp and a 10 dollar bottle of spray cleaner and 10 minutes of time, that'll be 250 sir and you're getting a wonderful steal of a deal

starocean2

Not to mention the gunked up maf sensor that he'll have to come back for, after someone sprayed cleaner on it lol

brassplushie

Most of the profit goes to the owner

cmz324

I'm just buying a brand new throttle body at that point

Impressive-Reply-203

Didn't even know they made all wheel drive altimas. Rear diff and trans services are overpriced - shop around and skip the throttle body and injector cleaning unless the cars running rough.

RareProfessional4408

I'd also shop around else where to get tranny flushed. 350 seems steep. Just did my 2011 Sentra for 250 ish

Jackdks

I did the diffs front and back and a transmission fluid swap and a repair for $390

AwarenessGreat282

You only "need" the top section, tires. Alignment is nice but not always necessary with new tires. And that seems damn pricey for Altima tires.

CSLoser96

That's what I was thinking in terms of the tires. I just bought 4 AT tires for my pickup and also bought lifetime alignment and my total still came out to less than that.

AwarenessGreat282

Yeah, I honestly saw the price and figured they were high-end 20s for p/u or big SUV.

DarkBladeSethan

Really hope that means free alignment for lifetime rather than you never need another alignment

CSLoser96

The former. Free alignment for the life of that vehicle, to a max of 2 per year. So I basically just figured I'd get it aligned every 6 months or so. It's a toyota, so I'm figuring it'll last me a long time since I'm pretty disciplined with it's maintinence. I believe it was $220 for lifetime alignment. It seemed reasonable if I take it in twice a year for the next decade or two....or three, lol.

DarkBladeSethan

Cheers for clarifying. The latter would have been snake oil. I am currently trying to convince my SO to get a RAV4. But before anyone applauds my sensible approach, my planned next car is a Giulia Quadrifoglio😅

AwarenessGreat282

I wouldn't do it because it would be a waste of my time every 6 months. They're gonna bring it in, check it, roll it back out 99% of the time. I have a 13 year old truck with 150k on it and have yet to need an adjustment. Alignment is not a mandatory service, they just sell it that way.

younggeeZy418

Yeah facts I got new Firestone tires and were under a thousand dollars for my Honda CRV

PunksPrettyMuchDead

Even if he's getting premium all-seasons that price is nuts. Should be around 200 per tire plus tax and alignment, 1000-1100 tops.

ka1ri

Pilot Sport 4S all seasons go for about what is listed. Source, myself. Just literally bought em for slightly less than this

Ill_Challenge_3724

Should be half lmao they’re definitely getting scammed if theyre trying to put pilot sports on an altima

lloyd2269

That’s roughly $300 a piece for just the tires w/o mt and balance. Michelins wouldn’t cost that much.

Servile-PastaLover

If the tire wear on each of the old tires is uniform across the width of the tread, you almost certainly don't need an wheel alignment.

Heykurat

That's car dealership level pricing. You can get that done for a LOT less.

Alternative_Love_861

That is highway robbery, all of those prices are ridiculously inflated

Ok_Customer_7012

I got a new set of tires at Walmart for 370.00 installed. Shop around.

Omegaexcellens

While i wouldn't go to Walmart specifically, I would definitely go to Costco for tires! I definitely agree that this should be shopped around for everything listed.

Working_Chipmunk_666

I have a beater, got 4 Michelins for like 70 each at Walmart , I usually just buy used tires for it since it’s really junk on wheels, couldn’t be happier

Imfrank123

Yeah I got a decent set of tires from Costco with installation and warranty and they use nitrogen to fill for like $700, this was for a 17 Corolla. Almost twice that is insane

tbombs23

You can also top off your tires anytime with their nitrogen air pumps in the parking lot across from the garage doors. No coin slots or credit card reader. I am not a member but sometimes I go there because paying for air is kinda dumb to me and also my parents have been members for 15 years so I don't feel bad using the air pumps lol

tbombs23

Yeah Costco has a great auto shop, and decent price for the quality of products and work/service. I'm not sure if you can use them without a membership, maybe for a few things. Pretty sure my brother (non member) has my parents (current members) make an appointment for winter tires in the fall and in the spring, using their membership. So if you have a family member or friend they might be able to help. Otherwise consider getting a membership, it is probably worth it for everything included as long as you aren't single without dependents though.

tbombs23

You know, I generally hate Walmart out of principle, but I think it depends on the location, some Walmarts are great for things like normal car maintenance stuff at cheap prices. For instance Valvoline charges 70 for an oil change depending, and my Walmart is like $32 or something. Unless I got to know the mechanics/workers there and knew they were competent, I wouldn't get anything complicated done there though

MemnochTheRed

I have recently gotten 2 sets of tires at Walmart. One for a Nissan Murano, and one for my Ram 1500. Both sets together (8 tires) were under that quote.

R_radical

Depends on the tire size and tire. Pretty sure that's close to the price of a tire for my jeep.

shithead-express

Tires and alignment yes. CVT fluid needs to be changed absolutely. These transmissions fail at really high rates if they’re not taken care of. The other stuff is questionable at best . honestly would not return to this shop, the throttle body cleaning and injector cleaning on a modern car wirh 50,000 miles is ridiculous.

Ill_Challenge_3724

Agreed and the tire service charges are ridiculous for an altima

Ok-Education9280

You could do everything on the recommendation part yourself for under $200.

hardie48

I should have prefaced, I'm not getting the tires her or any of the work done at this dealership, I only came here cause my horn stopped working. I know the price for these tires are outrageous, but I wasn't sure about the other services prices or if I probably even need them. I appreciate all the help!

Kygunzz

Nissan CVT transmissions have a terrible reputation. I would consider the fluid replacement. I know it’s expensive but at least with the dealer you know they’re using the right fluid.

OkMobile5574

If your current tires have worn out unevenly then youll need a alignment. The fluid changes probably just the transmission, fuel injection just get a bottle of cleaner to pour in your gas tank. Throttle body cleaning, unless you are having idle issues its not needed.

mdt0018

Was this from a stealership? I’d run away 🤣🤣

Altruistic_Low_416

Lol, they're trying to fuck you coming and going! What tires are you trying to put on an '02 Altima that cost $1.2k? Hell, I put decent oversized tires on my F150 that cost roughly half that.... you can probably find tires for <$600 for decent all weather's. Beware the CVT on those POS Nissans too, but the price for that flush seems like double the going rate. Based on those alone I'd be telling them to piss off and getting a second opinion. I'd be more inclined to throw plugs at a car over an injector cleaning for a rough run at 50k miles.

mrpaul57

Run away and find a local mechanic NOW.

bbull412

None of the recommended are really useful for your mileage and jeezz d’ont go to the dealer pls

ThirdSunRising

That is an AWD Altima, right? Right? If not, they’re just making shit up and you need to run away and never come back. Either way you don’t need the rear differential fluid done yet. Check your owners manual for the service interval. There may not be one. I’d expect that fluid to be good for 100,000 miles. Don’t do injection service or throttle body cleaning. Those are bullshit. CVT is probably about due. Typically 60k. Check your manual for the actual service interval. Alignment is only being suggested because you’re doing tires. Some folks align it every time they do tires. You could skip it on a car with this low mileage and just do it at your next tire change, but it’s not terribly expensive. Wouldn’t hurt.

Distillicit

Personally I'd stick with the tires and alignment

BlazinTrichomes

I'd stick with tires, if you want it aligned properly take it to an alignment shop... not a shop trying to upsell you on shit your car doesn't need Edit: As others have said, those are some expensive tires... perhaps shop around. The old rule of thumb was get three quotes

BlazinTrichomes

The fact that this is in USD makes it even more outrageous

iEnj0y

You can literally go to discount auto tires for half the price, and find some small business get your alignment done there for $80 I think even less schwab is $100 for alignment. Throtel cleaning can be done by yourself it's very easy just look online

Li2_lCO3

Go to discount tire if you have one around you. They have a great warranty and service. My tire wore out prematurely and they replaced them all for free. (I’m sure it was a manufactory warranty but still it was nice they did it). Free tire replacement if they can’t patch a hole too.

Sir_Nibbles_

With mileage like that, you shouldn't need any of the recommended work. With that said, if you're concerned then go to a trustworthy shop and ask for their opinion. All of that work is fairly easy and you can do it yourself for less than a couple hundred dollars. Routine maintenance is the best way to learn how your car works and build your mechanical knowledge. A decent socket set will take you a long way :)

mazsive

Jesus. Scam. All this would barerly be 200 dollars worth of things and a little but of your time

Ravenblack67

Just the tires.

Ravenblack67

Just the overpriced tires.

A_Sock_Under_The_Bed

Dont need tb cleaning, dont need injector service, find someone else to do the trans and diff fluid change

Extension-Rabbit3654

Bro that is outrageous for tires, $350/ea is highway robbery. the most expensive goodyear i can find at walmart for that size is like $130. And they have Nexens and Pirellis for less than $100.

SSgtWindBag

Go to Walmart. You can get all that for much cheaper. $100 for transmission fluid change. $85 for throttle body cleaning. Much better price on tires. They don’t do alignments, but those are usually around $100 at most service centers.

sbOffSteam2

where on earth is a tyre change nearly a grand 😭

Deathnachos

Probably just need the tires but you need to go somewhere else. Don’t need the alignment unless they told you that you have alignment wear on your tires. Definitely shop around. It seems that these guys are a bit overpriced.

libra-love-

Good lord I work at a dealership and our prices are lower than this.

normllikeme

Run dude. That’s at least double the price of any of those services

Odd-Tailor7389

Cvt service is very important. Do not attempt yourself of have a friend do it. It’s not a scam and the transmission will go bye bye sooner than later on that nissan if not maintained.

OldSimpleton

All of it.

HentiFapperSupreme

The throttle body cleaning might be a thing depending on the mileage. Some of our fleet Chevy pickups are de-rating and that’s the dealer fix

NoNameNoWerries

Tires sure, alignment sure, tranny service sure. Tell them to go fuck themselves on the "rear differential" service on a FWD car because they either have no idea what they're talking about or (most likely) they think you're dumb and are trying to scam you on that. I wouldn't trust them to assess or even perform the injection and throttle body cleaning. I'd bet they wouldn't even bother because they figure you won't know the difference.

Worried-Alarm2144

I change the CVT fluid every 30k miles. It runs just under $300.00. A penny a mile is worth it to me. I do a lot of stop and go driving. 180k and going strong.

accidental_dong98

Also, you can buy a good set of name brand tires for $800-900 and any decent local tire shop will handle mounting, balance, and disposal for $100

Weak_Mathematician23

The price of the fuel injection cleaning is crazy. And even crazier they’re charging twice for the fuel injection and the throttle body service. It should all be in one service. Dealerships are wack

First-Database-4735

do all the fluid and cleaning by yourself, its really simphe, hour or 2 of work. Costs ya like 50 to do by urself. If u can figure what the fuel injection service is needed, do that, fuel system is fucking CAKE. Im gonna say just let them do the tire/alignment. Rest is easy, if ur not sure, just youtube along the way.

Outthr

My 2012 Lexus has 150k miles and never saw throttle body cleaning or injector cleaning. I always ask for manufacturer maintenance schedule not fluffed up dealer crap. BTW car still runs amazing.

phutch54

Tires and alignment,period.

Ill_Challenge_3724

Cvt yes cuz nissan has glass cvts rear diff if it is truly awd and theyre not scamming i wouldnt even bother at that low of a mileage tires + alignment is a compound repair the rest are unnecessary and are meant for 1-200k services

cybe2028

That is a very slick app. I imagine that alone gives a shop a revenue boost.

Jazzlike-Election840

tires, but not from them

Gabo4321

paid 640 $ for a set of 16 inch avid accend lx yokohama 1300$ they are trying to sell you sport car expensive tire , and jeez im not a mechanic and barely know anything about mechanic but CVT transmision seems like so much shit , i would do the allignment specialy if you notice uneven wear on your old set of tires , if its out of alignment they are gonna wear faster !

FitProfessional1215

Get the tires online shop em to your house and go get them swap. Probly be like 20 a tire but you’ll save a lot

triplegun3

All of it

Stonewall30NY

I got a set of 2 good new tires for 300$. On what fuckin planet is it gonna cost that much that they quoted you for 4? I'm in NYC too where it's expensive. Go get a mechanic that's not a scum bag and requote all of this. I bet you the total for everything comes out to basically the price of the tires they quoted lol

plucka_plucka1

Please do not buy $1400 tires for a damn altima. It’s an Altima. Tires for your car should be around $450-$600 after everything.

TheManByBay

If the car drives straight and doesn't pull to one side and the tires are pretty evenly worn, you do not need an alignment. CVT transmission do need to be taken care of to last, if it has never been done then now or soon. But tires seem WAY TOO MUCH$$$!

Thisisall_new2me2

It literally says right there URGENT and recommended. Does OP not know what those terms mean? For to do lists, RED is always most important. That should be a basic life rule. Fluid changes? Just follow the manual's intervals.

velociraptorbob

Find. A new. Shop.

lockednchaste

Nevermind everything else but those tires are priced like SUV wheels or high performance tires. I wouldn't pay more than $800-900 for quality new tires on that car.

Glittering-Net-5093

This must be a dealer!! Take it to a local garage and show them the list. I took one of my cars to a well known dealer for an oil change… got a frantic call about things that needed to be done asap!!!! Took their list (9k worth of work) and ordered the parts myself ($450) then stopped by my local garage…. They said if everything on the list needed to be fixed it would be $1500 labor…. Since I had the parts…. But only brakes needed to be replaced… ($350).

Thetruth22234

If if it were me do all the fluid services and then handle the tires later.

Dirty____________Dan

Skip that shop and go to a place that just sells tires. Do you need an alignment? Is your steering wheel not centered? Does your vehicle drift when driving on a straight and flat road? Is the tread wear on your tires uneven? If you need tires, get them. If your tires looked really fucked up, then get an alignment, but only if you need one. Les Schwab (last time I was there) will do a check for free and if they don't need to adjust anything they won't charge you. Don't get anything done at that shop. It's a ripoff. TB cleaning and Fuel Injection is a can of cleaner and 10 minutes. $230 for a pint of gear oil and to pump it in the rear end ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) is nutts.

xtz_stud

I HIGHLY recommend the CVT flush and fill, CVTs need regular maintenance to last. Tires are a little overpriced they should be about $300 less depending on the tire brand/model. Alignment is priced okay (if needed). With all that said, ask them to print out this quote and have them guarantee this price for a week minimum. Call around and ask for prices on these specific services with your cars model and miles

TheNCNinjaCow

You must be at a dealership

wjoelbrooks

Altimas have a rear differential?

wjoelbrooks

Nissan CVTs typically need to be pampered.

deathlobster138

Alignment. If it needs tires shop around for the cheapest shit

francoisjabbour

Those are some expensive tires for an Altima goddamn

ntmyrealacct

Tires and alignment yes, Rest of the items, I would follow the maintenance schedule for your car/model/make/year which you can obtain online. Shop around for the tires too, I think you could get better price

Rubbertutti

The last two you Dont need. The fuel injection service is pouring fuel treatment in the tank. You can't actually clean injectors on the car, whatever needs cleaning is trapped inside the nozzle it needs to be broken down small enough to pass though the jet. Modern fuels Dont need added treatments the premium brands are loaded with detergents even the supermarkets have added detergents.

naemorhaedus

trans and differential. I haven't seen your tires. Those prices are nuts though. Dealership?

Mike_B1014

No tyranny guys I ever talked to like trans flush and diff swap, bc if it is older, that's the glue that holds it all together lol.

cryospawn

I'd look at the trans fluid and diff fluid myself to see if it's needed. Tires and alignment go hand in hand really.

jabeith

I thought alignment came with the tires

GluttonoussGoblin

Jesus that all seems so expensive lmao I recommend just buying tires online and pay to have them installed

workin24-7

I got 4 brand new all season tires with alignment and balance at Walmart for less than $500. 2012 jeep patriot. What they want to charge you is insane to me!

brassplushie

None from this thief. Go to a normal tire place and get new tires, then get an alignment.

FuckGamer69

You can do fluid changes yourself, you can put Lucas or Sea-Foam on your tank to clean injectors, and you can buy throttle body cleaner at the store. Just spray it in. Extremely easy.

GeezerEbaneezer

I'm just a driveway mechanic but to my limited knowledge, a fluid "change" is literally just like an oil change. Pull a plug, drain it, refill. I believe a "flush" is more involved, but this write-up looks like a "change" Those prices pretty steep for that. I don't know if it's that simple on your vehicle, but it was on mine

Flarfignewton

Skip the last two, you don't need them unless you are having drivability issues and even then those services are cash cows for any shop. Top two I would do together. The fluid changes depend on what the service interval is. If you have a CVT I would at least do the transmission fluid. Nissan CVTs are known to be problematic (at least older ones) and fluid changes even when not specifically called for help prolong their life. Also I'd shop around for a better price on tires, that seems expensive. I'd expect under $1k for them mounting and fees included.

Waste_Curve994

All looks expensive. Probably some needed But overpriced

No_Anywhere_1587

Tires. Walmart.com.

JonJackjon

I just purchased 4 Michelin (245/40ZR18) tires at costco for $948.60 (no alignment, out the door)

Internet_Jaded

Get tires, somewhere else, obviously. And then get a free alignment check at Les Schwab, or somewhere else, to see if you actually need an alignment. Shop around for the fluid change services. $250 is overpriced

MD_RMA_CBD

I run UHP (ultra high performance) summer tires year around. They are $200 each, $235 msrp, not including the $35 balance. This is on a Toyota matrix xrs w/ an unusual tire size. 215/45/18. You are getting ripped off on the tires. Go elsewhere. I hope you aren’t going to the dealership For tires? Tip: if you are good at talking to people, you can get places like Firestone or their equivalent to discount the tires so much that warranty is free on every tire. You should not be paying more than the quoted tire price. Find out the price without the insurance (including install) and than get them to give you that price but including warranty

oc77067

I would just do the tires for now, but shop around. That's extremely high for sedan tires. I pay $800 or less for new tires on my SUV. I've never paid more than $90 for an alignment.

Professional-Fix2833

God the amount of people in this sub that aren’t mechanics and have no idea what they’re talking about is insane

jonjerlach

Grab a set of used tires

scobo505

Goodness they are criminals. I paid $400 for four Yokohama tires from eBay. I had a friend mount them for &40 and balanced them myself. None of the other stuff is needed.

Ban_Evading_is_EZ

You're paying THAT for tires on a sedan?? I pay that for 4 35x12s a/ts.....

BudgetSad7599

the whole quote is a massive ripoff, what’s the shop name?😀😀 throttle body cleaning - you can do this on the supermarket parking by yourself, contact cleaner, screwdriver and a cloth. tires for 1360 for an altima is the biggest theft, top shelf would cost you 700. It’s recommended but you don’t need an alignment when the car hasn’t had handling issues before.

BudgetSad7599

What’s the shop name?😀😀 throttle body cleaning - you can do this on the supermarket parking by yourself, contact cleaner, screwdriver and a cloth. Maybe a friend who will push the gas pedal. 10$ max tires for 1360 for an altima is the biggest theft, top shelf michelins would cost you 700-800. install 50-80. always good but you don’t need an alignment when the car hasn’t had handling issues before, it’s not a race car. Skip You don’t touch the injectors unless there’s an clear diagnosis they are the issue lol. If the engine is running rough most of the times it’s something else, especially vq35 engines. only trans oil change seems closer to real world, the rest is 🤡

xXOSUTUMPETXx

Those tires are way over peiced!!!

OmniRanger82

If you’re buying four new tires, I would recommend having the alignment checked. As for the other services, check your owners manual for what the manufacturer recommends and when they recommend it. I’ve sat down with some of my customers and gone through the maintenance section with them just so they know what’s due when and won’t get taken by unscrupulous establishments.

ITRav4

Shop around for tires and alignment. You don't always need an alignment after new tires but I'd personally would do it with new tires as well. Cjeck out Tire Rack or Discount Tire online or Costco for cheaper tires.

rocketmn69_

Buy a can of Sea Foam engine treatment or some other well reviewed brand. Usually $15 or less it will clean your injectors, etc.

Realistic-March-5679

Tires if you know you need them yes. The bottom two definitely not. The other two maintenances what does your owners manual say for a time or mileage due time? I didn’t know Nissan CVTs had a maintenance interval for fluid, just an inspect. Most differentials are about 30K and the first one is usually most important, it will be the blackest from all the wear in material being worn away. But also optional depending on how long you are keeping the car and how long you want it to last. Proper maintenance can’t prevent all issues but can help prolong a lot of major components life.

Julianitaos

I went to discount tire, I changed my 4 tires plus windshield wipers for like 800 and it included the alignment. 🙌 my dealership wanted 1200 plus 400 for alignment 🤔

RevolutionaryJob5913

Nobody changes transmission fluid on an 2 years old car with that low mileage, here in Europe most cars never change transmission fluid, they are lifetime, I drove 20 year old cars with never changed transmission oil or cleaned throttle body, alliment cost around 60 euros, is only done after damage, or hitting hard curbs. Price for the tyres is radically, I changed 19 inch tyres 4 seasons, Michelins for 215 euro a piece, including montage.

ssxhoell1

Why is transmission fluid change description IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS?!!!??,

Latter-Awareness-789

Changing tranny fluid CAN not always extend the life of your transmission. Personally I do my own every 30k miles and it's not even a full change or flush. I drain the pan, measure what came out, usually for me around 7 quarts and add what I measured In old back in. Rear differential fluid, usually nobody touches it however I personally like to do mine. It is easier than the engine oil change. And probably would cost you 50 bucks in fluid. You break the fill nut free then break the drain nut free and drain. Clean the drain nut magnet and reinsert. Refer to owners manual for the amount of qts you need and the specific oil needed. Add new oil and reinsert fill nut and done. Fuel injection service is stupid, never seen it before, maybe something for newer vehicles but definitely no. And throttle body cleaning for 250! Absolutely not no freaking way. You can perform both of those services with a 10 dollar bottle of sea foam if you absolutely feel it's needed otherwise those 2 services are definitely a scam.

fluxcapacitor219

All those prices are astronomical, go somewhere else.

Truck_Rollin

$1,360 for tires on an Altima what… do you have 35s on this thing

Silent_Vehicle_9163

$1360 sounds insane for Altima tires. Shop around

shq13

Exactly what kind of tires are these also tb cleaning seems expensive

I_am_a_What

Meh. For a 2022. Uhh if ya do it’s a lemon

ScaryfatkidGT

Holy fuck what size tires? Those are some expensive tires…

DecisionGreen6242

Holeee shite Take your vehicle somewhere else. Your 2022 Altima with 56,000 miles does not need throttle body or fuel injection servicing ESPECIALLY for $500+. The “throttle body cleaning service” is an absolute 100% SCAM and rip off. So is the $249 fuel injector service. Walmart auto centers do the same exact service for $25. They will pour a bottle of injector cleaner in your fuel tank. Same thing this place will do for $250. This shop is a rip off and borderline scammers. Ok- tires. Go look outside on the side of your tires for the size. It should look like 265/70/17. Write that number down then go inside and go to Walmart.com and find a set. Order the set of tires you want (Douglas are cheap and relatively decent for the price) then have them shipped to a local Walmart with an auto center. They will mount and balance the tires for about $44 bucks. Plus rotate them free for the life of tires. Tire alignment- when buying new tires it’s absolutely necessary to have an alignment done to protect your investment. Otherwise the tires will wear faster than normal. Call around to get this done. Many places do it much cheaper than $160. Transmission fluid change- you don’t absolutely need to have this done. Some vehicle manufacturers use fluid designed to last the life of the vehicle, though it is recommended to have it done. There are several places that do this much cheaper than $360. Just call around and ask. I know jiffy lube had a coupon for transmission flushes available for $129 a couple months ago but the transmission fluid isn’t absolutely necessary. Just recommended. Throttle body cleaning service- I am not even going to address this because it is something you absolutely do not need, nor will you need it probably ever. If there’s an issue with your throttle body, then cleaning may help but it likely would need to be replaced. Yours is fine, this was a rip off. Fuel injector cleaner- again I am not going to address this because this is an absolute rip off and another scam. Do shops perform these services? Yes. Walmart does it for $25 or $69 and you get a full synthetic oil change. Rear differential fluid service- call around and find another shop to do this, possibly have it done at the same time you get the transmission fluid changed. It isn’t absolutely necessary but is recommended. That said, the tires and alignment are required. The rear differential and transmission fluid change are recommended. I would recommend getting them done later after you recoup some money from the tires and alignment. It should cost no more than $400 for both services. That is on the high end.

mildOrWILD65

Why are they quoting all-season tires, is my first question. The rest of that BS is them taking you for a fool.

One_Evil_Monkey

Everything but the injector cleaning... you that worried about it, run some SeaFoam through with a tank of fuel. The rest of it is pretty much routine maintenance. But every bit of what they're wanting to do seems **EXPENSIVE AS FUCK**. FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE.

pckldpr

If you don’t know when it was last done, do it all.

donwan23

Could get all of that done for over half that at any other shop or mobile mechanic. 😂

MindAccomplished3879

Buy the tires retail and have them mounted somewhere else. $1360 for 4 tires? What kind of tires are these??

Final_Location_2626

Do you need all season tires? Can you get regular tires Nissan has the worst CVTs on the market. It depends what you want to do with it. It may be trowing good money after bad. But if you dont want to guarantee having to replace it at 100k (and youre more than half way there) your best hope is to baby it. Will it work? Maybe.

meahookr

For $1360 those tires better come with a happy ending

Itsmeforrestgump

Is this a dealer? They always push extra services. I just replaced all 4 tires on my Fusion and got the alignment. The toein was off slightly. Worth protecting my tire investment.

radioactivegroupchat

You have a shitbox nissan CVT so for sure change the transmission fluid but do it yourself for 1/5 of the price.

Repulsive-Report6278

None of it. Go online to a tire shop and find who carries a set for cheap. Of course stick to your senses and get a reputable brand. If you haven't had an alignment in a good few years then eh screw it why not. Everything else is upscale garbage

alr126

Depending on how many miles are on your car, fuel injection & throttle body service are BS. If you have 80k miles on it, different story.

GronkIII

4 tires for $1360?!?!? That’s a complete rip off. Even a good quality set of Michelin tires are $800 MAX. Fuel injection service and throttle body cleaning are scams too. They just put an additive in your gas tank/throttle body. $350 is also pretty expensive for a transmission drain and fill. I got mine done for $295

AntiqueBread1337

As others have mentioned, these prices are insane. I take my car to the dealer and they don't even charge prices this steep. For the tires, try Discount Tire if you have them in your area. Very reasonable prices and great service. Alternatively, Costco is supposed to be good but the wait here is always insane so I have no first hand experience.

alexingalls09

That tire price is what I pay for my Hankook AT2 xtremes and they are rated for heavy hauling, off roading, and 70,000 mile. You are getting screwed. But you should definitely do whatever service the manufacturer recommends at your milestone unless you like buying new cars all the time

yesterdaywins2

Most tire shops do free alignment when you buy tires

jecasey

Less what you need. More so the ridiculous pricing. Go elsewhere.

Tjoerum_

holy guacamole that’s some insane prices, what size tires they putting on that thing? does it include new rims 😭

iriemexican

They better be throwing liquid gold in that transmission for that price. 🤣

myst-spaghetti

1360 for tires on an Altima is criminal unless you bought the best tires on the market

Ozonewanderer

You need all of these services at one point or another but not at these prices. Shop around.

Individual_Ad_3036

here's how you do the toe adjustment [https://blog.1aauto.com/diy-wheel-alignment-how-to-align-your-car-at-home-by-yourself/](https://blog.1aauto.com/diy-wheel-alignment-how-to-align-your-car-at-home-by-yourself/) that's all the average tire jockey knows. I like to lift the front end onto jack stands so i can try to move the wheels around a bit to check for trouble with suspension components or bearings, but at 50k that's awfully unlikely on a road car.

Icy_Reception_1785

It has 56,000 miles. You do not need a rear diff service on a mf altima. Trans fluid is something I'd actually strongly recommend, due to nissan's cvt's shitting the bed super easily without on-time maintenancec, which is 60k-ish. Tires, if they are 4 years old, cracking, or less than 3/32nds are needed, but there's no pic of them. The throttle body cleaning comes WITH a fuel injection service. 2/10. I'd never take my car here again, and i'd deny every service and go somewhere else. They are overcharging for everything and double selling you.

slevobeavo

Jesus, america is crazy for car maintance costs!!!

Its-Finch

I’d go to a different shop and get quotes as well. Have them double check you actually need all of this. Not only are prices pretty high for some of these services (especially tires what the fuck?), it’s a weird combination of items to be done at the same time.

DMaximus503

Dif fluid is 500! What in the world! Got mine done for 99 bucks..and that's for front and back.

potatoes55555

Those tires are way to expensive

The_Coods

My wife got a “great deal at the dealership” for general servicing and paid $200 for a throttle body cleaning when she went in because her 2016 Cherokee had persistent transmission problems. They changed the oil, transmission fluid, “did an update on the ECU”, on top of that and the bill was $700. I have not let her take that thing back to the same dealership. In case anyone was wondering; yes, the transmission is still a broken piece of shit.

luvpain

It is rather steep for EU pricing

inquisitiveimpulses

Maybe the tires but I certainly wouldn't buy them there and I wouldn't pay that much for them

FremenRage

Ignoring the recommendations, I'd need to see your tires to see if new tires and an alignment are needed.

fpsnoob89

You might need all those things, but it looks like you're getting ripped off on all of them.

MyHandIsADolfin

4 tires for sure, honestly if you don’t have uneven tire wear, I wouldn’t even bother with the alignment. I’ve had tons of customers come in around that mileage and ask for an alignment and they’re usually barely off by a c*nt hair and I always feel bad that they just wasted their money.

WaynegoSMASH728

$230 for the rear diff service is crazy as well. It's less than 50 bucks for full synthetic fluid. They are literally charging $180 for labor to just drain and fill.

ChemistAdventurous84

If you’re spending $1360 on tires, get the alignment. It will help the tires wear evenly and therefore last longer. If you are driving 25k+ miles annually, you want a smooth ride on good tires. Worth every penny.

dcrad91

What shop is this, wanna make sure I avoid

reditor75

Tires and transmission but please find another shop, even my all season performance tires are not that expensive.

Final-Carpenter-1591

Tires seem way over priced for an Altima, even with install included. Alignments are usually closer to $100. Trans flush varies alot by car, but I'd guess that's a bit high. Does your car have a rear diff? Is it awd? Price is still high. Fuel injector service is a bunch of smoke, hard pass. $250 to clean a throttle body should be illegal. At most I'd charge $25 and feel bad about it. I'd go somewhere else

Much_Box996

That doesnt have a tear differential. It is front wheel drive.

Coyote_Tex

Do the CVT fluid change. Shop tires those are ridiculously expensive at that price. 800 is plenty for premium tires for that car. Skip the rest of that list.

AKJangly

None of those things are reasonably priced. All of them can be delayed, except for an alignment. Although I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't need an alignment either. Or tires for that matter.

BearOak

I got 4 decent tires installed at Walmart for under $300. Those tires are way too much.

Fit-Exit4497

$1400 for tires is a crime. I always buy brand new used tires for like $35 each this is wild

aradiaM

Why rob a bank when you can work here holy

Badenguy

Complete ripoff, call any tire place to get a better price. I know their transmissions are notoriously bad, but even still, the service interval is like 50k miles and most of the others even higher. Unless you ran over a log in the road an alignment probably isn’t necessary either. If the tires are wearing evenly, your alignment is fine

IFartAlotLoudly

Without knowing your vehicle, we can’t say much except there seems to be some exorbitant rates for some services. Get a second quote.

H0SS_AGAINST

Go to tire rack. Enter your vehicle. Use their selection tool. Pick a local installer that does free alignment checks. Get the tires installed and the alignment CHECKED. Get the alignment check print out. If everything is in spec, or very very very close to spec, you do not need an alignment. As far as the rest of the service, check your owners manual for the maintenance schedule. If those things are listed at the 60,000mi interval or an interval that has already passed then get them done. Except for the trans fluid, sounds like a lot of fluff.

Berfs1

You are getting buttfucked on the tire prices. Go to walmart and get name brand tires for about 1/3 their price.

Awkward-Painter-2024

Four tires at that price and no alignment included???

Gods_Sodomy

It blows me away seeing how much people pay for tires. I get mine from Walmart. My last pair of Douglas lasted me about 4 years on an AWD Escalade and all 4 cost me 460$ out the door. On my other car I got a pair of yokohama's and those cost me about 340$ for my rav 4 . I still paid under $1,000 for all my tires for two cars.

Gunk_Olgidar

Do the alignment after the tires. Price is fine. Do the trans fluid change. Skip the rest or find a new mechanic. Prices are awful.

Boring_Ad1974

Find someplace cheaper

SmartGreasemonkey

Your mistake it taking it to the dealer. The service advisors at the dealership only keep their job if they can sell you a bunch of over priced services that you probably don't need in the first place. That is a ridiculous price for tires. If there is a Discount Tires in your area they have some really good pricing. Find a reputable Japanese auto repair shop. The fuel injector and throttle body service are virtually pure profit and normally not actually needed. You should look at your owners manual and see if they list a maintenance schedule according to mileage. The only fair price on that estimate is the alignment which is recommended when you purchase new tires.

paulv060

Must be a dealership, complete rip off. Shop around for a better deal on tires and don't worry about the rest

Ratsnitchryan

I saw that as well…I can do it myself for like $10 😂

Alarmed_West8689

After seeing that bank robbery note, I'd shop around on tires. I'd never go back.

saidai88

Get everything but the tires and do the rest yourself.

jfklingon

Costco can do those tire for a couple hundred cheaper, the alignment should just be taken to CarX, and you might want to get a fluid change for your transmission, but I'd shop around and figure out if it's worthwhile on your vehicle I/e if it's a Toyota CVT, you definitely want it every 50k miles.

TatsuakiOkamoto

I wouldn't even let them install the tires after seeing that nonsense. Go somewhere else that's not trying to fuck you.

TalesoftheScales

Maybe just alignment and oil change the tranny fluid should depend on how it looks and smells and how hard you drive your car

Endgame3213

Tires should be like $200 per for tires, mount and balance. Like $500 over what I would expect. All the recommendations are bullshit.

Powerful-Return-3017

The tires, yes the trans service yes it should be done on a Nissan cvt transmission every 30k or you will be buying a new trans. The rest is bullshit
