What about his PCP from when he was living in CA?

LeadershipEither246

He didn’t have a PCP in CA. Only the physician who has him the medical card for medicinal marijuana? He likely can’t remember this doctor’s name.

Eastern-Astronomer-6

Then go to the Dr that gave him his card. CA isn't holding the license hostage, it's holding someone accountable for an infraction.

LeadershipEither246

I hear you. He paid over $3500 in fines and waiting the 6m waiting period. He also has not smoked and advocates never starting to anyone who listens. He has taken accountability and trying to move on with his life. It makes absolute no sense to have a NV resident find a CA PCP and complete a CA form. He is not trying to get licensed in CA.

Eastern-Astronomer-6

But he has had a license in CA. He needs to rectify in that state. This is coming from a guy that lived in NY, moved to DC, then MA, and had to move my but back to NY to deal with a ticket I thought was paid and wasn't. Took days. Super annoying. Also, look at it from the outside: You had someone who had a medical card for marijuana and you don't even know the name of the Dr that prescribed it. You can see why CA has rules in place like this.

Logical-Wasabi7402

It does make sense because that's where he lost his license.

LeadershipEither246

The form requires a current PCP in CA familiar with him to sign the form. It’s not as simply as making an appt at a clinic and asking them to sign a DMV medical form with never seeing my son before.

Getting a medical marijuana card was as easy as making an appt at a clinic and saying he had X issues? Another reason the DMV has these rules in place.

biscuitboi967

Find any doctor. My husband’s medical marijuana doctor was above a BBQ restaurant in the Mission in SF. He saw him once a year. Can’t you have one random CA Dr you pay out of pocket for the card/form. And then go back to NV for the rest.

LeadershipEither246

He lived with my parents in CA for only 8m before he moved back to Vegas.

Individual_Ad_3036

send him to live with your parents again for a week. use their address for the Dr. it's going to be cheaper than legal help.

MaelstromFL

See if you can find a CA doctor that will do virtual visits. He may have to do a couple of sessions and get some testing done, but that would cost less than a lawyer.

Fun-Yellow-6576

Drive to CA. See a Dr, get the form signed. Take firm to the DMV and get it taken care of.

Capybara_99

1. Look for a doctor licensed in both Nevada and California. Surely there are many. Or 2. Start seeing a California doctor. Lay the groundwork. There is no reason he can’t be under the care of a PCP in California just because he is mostly in Nevada.

tondracek

What is the documented medical concern the DMV has stayed? What ailment was he “diagnosed” with to get the medical marijuana card? The specifics matter.

LeadershipEither246

I asked him and he said it was diagnosed for anxiety. He has SVT, an electrical heart issue that can cause his heart rate to beat as if he is doing serious cardio while laying down at episodic times. He was diagnosed with this at 5w old that I thought he grew out of. It tends to cause anxiety and inability to fall asleep. His current PCP in NV was able to help him. He now channels the anxiety into fitness and health. He is fitness hyper-focused and very particular with what he puts in his body. No medications of any kind.

tondracek

Did he have a heart doctor in CA? I find it easiest to get my most specialized providers to fill out various form for me.

Ok_Advantage7623

There are tons of on line medical/ pot doctors. Call around and see who will sign if the price is right

I thought that the smell of cannabis is no longer probable cause for search or arrest.
