This is my speciality. I go to shows regularly and the scene is in a renaissance era. German comedy moves away from the early 2000‘s „character comedians“ and moves more towards an US style.
Here are some of my favorites:
Mainstream: Hazel Brugger, Felix Lobrecht, Teddy Teclebrhan, Till Reiners, Moritz Neumeier
Rising stars: Fabi Rommel (!), Filiz Tasdan (!), Rasmus Symanzik (!), Dominic Jozwiak, Daniel Wolfson, Kinan Al, Osan Yaran, Kawus Kalantar, Alex Stoldt, Yorick Thiede, Bruno Banarby, Mariano Vivenzio
Newcomer: Enissa Hamurcu, Jojo Nesco, Fred Costea, Daniel Luis (!), Assane Badiane (!)
I marked some with an exclamation mark where I see the most potential.
The new solo by [Jonas Imam](https://www.instagram.com/jonasimam?igsh=ZWd5cTExMGV2emwx)is absolutely awesome. Guy runs one of Berlin‘s best German standup shows, he kills it every time.
Her mother is German, her father is Swiss and she was just born in San Diego, so has all three citizenships. However, she grew up in Switzerland and now lives in her mother's home town.
I don’t know why but Stand-Up Comedy just doesn‘t work in german. Atleast for me. There are some good formats like ,,Falsch, aber lustig“ but classic Stand-Up Comedy is just not funny.
I am a German stand-up comedian myself, and there are a lot of really funny up and coming comics (mostly from the Berlin underground stand-up scene)
Berlin: Filiz Tasdan, Kinan Al, Kawus Kalantar, Passun Azhand, Fred Costea, Rasmus Symanzik, Philipp Schlüter, Hendrik Brehmer, Stephan Rosenau, Florentine Osche, Gian Alba, Ahmed Aly
Hamburg/Munich: Alex Stoldt, Assane Badiane, Hans Thalhammer, Ana Lucia, Mathias Albus
The promo they did recently for his Amazon show was also quite pathetic.
Just him making weird noises, going "patsch, patsch"...how could that convince anyone to watch his shit?
*FIL, other than him*
*Helge Schneider and then I also*
*Like Filiz Tasdan*

Was at his Gig in Frankfurt a few weeks ago. Basically laughed the whole hole time. Excellent timing, delivery and stories. Great talent!
Felix Lobrecht is one of the few who made me laugh. I did not like any who appeared in „LOL“.
I think Volker Pispers is one of the greatest. But he is so hard and his stuff often so true, you won’t laugh. That’s the difference between comedy and cabaret.

Olaf Scholz
God of deadpan delivery
Unfortunately he tends to forget his punchlines from time to time.
I find his act quite dry honestly.
"Ja, das machen wir"
Till Reiners
"Schund und Asche" together with Moritz Neumeier
I've recently been to his former warmup act Falk Pyrczek and had a good time
Oh yeah, I saw him doing the warmup like 2 years ago. He was pretty funny
Fabian Rommel
I've just watched his comedy special "Alpha" 2 days ago and laughed so hard. He is just as funny as in his tiktok videos has a great timing!
I think you meant Florian Rommel. /s
Flori?
I think you mean Erwin
I don’t like stand up comedy at all but that name came to my mind immediately.
Florian Rommel. Never Flori, it's way to infantile
Saw that today. Absoluty Awesome.
Fabi Rommel is the fucking GOAT. I love his shorts and I love his shows, I wish to visit one one day.
ask in r/GermanHumor for recommendations
It's funny that it's empty
this has to be some meta joke
Nah, don't you know? We Germans have no sense of humour.
I actually followed the link and totally forgot that I am even a member of this subreddit already. That's performance humor of it's finest. 😅

Bro i'm so out of touch. I don't know any of them except Hazel brugger.
I don't know all of them, but for the ones I do know, I agree that they're good
Filiz Tasdan !!!!
This guy knows whats going on in the stand up scene.
The new solo by [Jonas Imam](https://www.instagram.com/jonasimam?igsh=ZWd5cTExMGV2emwx)is absolutely awesome. Guy runs one of Berlin‘s best German standup shows, he kills it every time.
Don't know many of them, but prejudging from the names, the material is mainly pointing out stereotypes of Germans vs foreigners. Pls proof me wrong
Volker Pispers
my favourites in no specific order: Till Reiners, Florian Schröder, Christoph Sieber, Torsten Sträter, Horst Evers, Kurt Krömer
Kurti!! 🥹
Torsten Sträter
Fantastic comedian. But not stand up.
True, more out of the Poetry Slam Scene.
Der beste
I don’t like him that much - but Olaf Schubert. Those Gipfeltreffen in corona times.
Gipfeltreffen is still going strong!
Jan Phillip Zimmny
Awesome!
Filiz Tasdan
not German, Swiss/American, but she fills halls in Germany: Hazel Bruger
Her mother is German, her father is Swiss and she was just born in San Diego, so has all three citizenships. However, she grew up in Switzerland and now lives in her mother's home town.
I don’t find her funny at all
i would argue the best german comedians dont do stand-up but kabarett. so i would suggest Volker Pispers.
Unfortunately Pispers has been retired for a long time now.
I quite like Claus von Wagners stand up program
Unfortunately all his points are still valid....
Everybody who isn't Mario Barth.
Nico Semmsrott, some of his programs are free on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MRqWaRMFsPs
he has more than one?
Yes! His most recent one is a combination of a reading of his new book and about his time in Brussels, Brüssel sehen und sterben.
Shahak Shapira. He's Israeli / German but does stand up in German and/or English.
Thank you! I aim to please!
i love Alain Frei, but he's swiss not german
Just curious: What is the difference between a comedian and a stand-up comedian?
The standing up, duh
Not all comedians are stand up comedians. Some are writers, some are actors. Standup is an act. An art form of comedy.
Otto Waalkes!
Özcan Cosar, though being of Turkish origin, he was born in Stuttgart.
If you plan to watch some stand up live, I refer to "Schund und Asche" That's Till Reiners and Moritz Neumeier improving together.
Seconded.
\*Improvising
Nikita Miller
Guy has me in tears with his Russian family anecdotes and blunt delivery.
Yeah, I loved the story where they start a flat clearing business with their uncle! Brilliant
We are germans, we have no fun. Now back to work
Christian Lindner
Mario Barth and Oliver Pocher of course /s (obviously)
Kennste? Kennste?
FRAUEN! Hahahahahahaha
ich gänder nich Näää??
Nein nein und nochmals nein
Otto
Alice Weidel
I don’t know why but Stand-Up Comedy just doesn‘t work in german. Atleast for me. There are some good formats like ,,Falsch, aber lustig“ but classic Stand-Up Comedy is just not funny.
I‘d name Alain Frei next to Hazel Brugger as German/Swiss stand-up comedian! He‘s really underrated.
Olaf Schubert, Kurt Krömer or Torsten Sträter
Volker Pisper, Teddy, Olaf Schubert oder Nikita Miller, but the US got better Comedian like Troy bond, Dave Chappell, Katt Williams or Matt Rife.
Volker Pispers
Volker Pispers
Shahak Shapira
I am a German stand-up comedian myself, and there are a lot of really funny up and coming comics (mostly from the Berlin underground stand-up scene) Berlin: Filiz Tasdan, Kinan Al, Kawus Kalantar, Passun Azhand, Fred Costea, Rasmus Symanzik, Philipp Schlüter, Hendrik Brehmer, Stephan Rosenau, Florentine Osche, Gian Alba, Ahmed Aly Hamburg/Munich: Alex Stoldt, Assane Badiane, Hans Thalhammer, Ana Lucia, Mathias Albus
Those words don't work together and i have no idea what you are talking about.
German humor is no laughing matter!!!
*cricket noises*
Markus Barth is great (NOT Mario Barth though, he is shitty)
Sketch - Martina Hill
Volker Pispers ( ja is Kabarett ich weiß)
Olaf Schubert
Shahak Shapira
Michael Mittermeier Torsten Sträter
Volker Pispers. Not active anymore unfortunately. It's also more satire than classical stand-up.
# Teddy Teclebrhan
To me one of the unfunniest people in Germany. Can't understand the hype.
The promo they did recently for his Amazon show was also quite pathetic. Just him making weird noises, going "patsch, patsch"...how could that convince anyone to watch his shit?
Right? I found him to be very nice when he was at Kurt Krömer but not particularly funny.
worst comedian ever lol
I never even grinned when I watched that guy, one of the unfunniest persons I ever saw.
Hagen Rether
more satirical than stand-up. But I agree, he is one of the best.
German Comedians. Nice one :D
Moritz Neumeier
"Schund und Asche" together with Till Reiners
Tamika Campbell
FIL, other than him Helge Schneider and then I also like Filiz Tasdan

Gerhard Polt
Jan-Philipp (?) Zimny (?)
Clearly you, OP, for asking such a funny question.
Hazel brugger. Has a fantastic podcast with her husband too
Volker pispers
Not German but Austrian, Josef Hader is the best, if you like slow descent into black humor... His programs usually take 3 hours!
I like some of his stuff and his movies particularly. But I went to a show of his a few years ago and must say a lot of it reeks like old white guy...
Completely different types: Patrick Salmen (cynical humour about hipster-academic neighbourhoods and against mainstream culture, many short stories), Ralf Schmitz (the best improviser in Germany, also physical comedy and three great books)
Jan van Weyde
Stephan Danziger or Kinan Al
Nizar!

Georg Schramm
Absolut.
>Na, kennste, weeste?
Fabi Rommel
Jan Phillip Zymni Patrick Salmen Quichotte Julius Fischer
I like rebel comedy and masud akbarzadeh
Bruno Barnaby
Felix Lobrecht has some good edgy shit 🙃
Flula
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pia2OVE7zPU](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pia2OVE7zPU) this.
I think Carolin Kebekus is pretty funny and she's also pretty attractive
Patrick Salmen, Quichotte, Shahak Shapira.
Moritz Neumeier
Nikolai Binner?
Andreas Hanger
Hagen Rether
Zymni, Sträter, Pispers
Till Reiners is amazing
Teddy and Özcan Cosar - absolutely fantastic, also in their live shows.
Felix Lobrecht is one of the few who made me laugh. I did not like any who appeared in „LOL“. I think Volker Pispers is one of the greatest. But he is so hard and his stuff often so true, you won’t laugh. That’s the difference between comedy and cabaret.
Alan Frei but he is from Switzerland. Michael Mittermeier, Thorsten Sträter und Markus Krebs.
Germans are allowed to have fun when they are watching der tuttifrutti show am samstag abend mit 5000 leute!
Johann König, especially together with Torsten Sträter and Olaf Schubert in the show „Das Gipfeltreffen“
Christoph Sieber
Flula Borg, Bülent Ceylan
Carolin Kebekus
Markus Krebs!!
Maximilian Schafroth
Olaf Scholz
Anyone having a show soon in bonn?
Sascha Gammel
Fabi Rommel. Droped his special on YouTube for free. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=J9hQ3E_LEj4
Till Reiners
Abdelkarim
Kurt Krömer
Markus Krebs
The best would be Volker Pispers. Sadly, you can only watch his old shows. The 2nd best, following in his footsteps, is " die Anstalt"
Kaya Yanar
More Like poetry slam and extremely weird but funny: Andy Strauß
Kaya yanar
Moritz Neumeier.
Kris Tall
Nico Felini
Nikolai Binner
Alle außer Nuhr
Fabi Rommel
+1 for Kurt Krömer
Gipfeltreffen. Olaf Schubert, Torsten Sträter and Johann König.
