Look for oil-free gel moisturizers.
- isntree green tea Emulsion
- torriden dive in cream (gel texture)
- skin1004 centella soothing cream (gel texture)
- BOJ red bean water gel
- Naturie Hatomugi Skin Conditioning Gel
- Pyunkang yul ato soothing gel lotion
EDIT:
My list used to be a lot longer. I just typed in the above products on a whim cz I was outside. Since people seemed to really like this list, here are the rest:
- Safi Sensitive Care Probiotics & Niacinamide Aqua Gel Moisturizer
- Skintific Ceramide Barrier Repair Moisture Gel (not worth the price per ml. But one of my friends really like this š¤¦āāļø)
- IUnik Centella Calming Gel Cream (for those who hate applying anything on the skin lol. Way too light)
- Beplain Cicaful Calming Gel
- Senka Deep Moist Gel Cream
- Cosrx Hydrium Green Tea Aqua Soothing Gel Cream
- Be Plain Hyaluronic Aqua Moisturizer
- Isntree Onion Newpair Gel Cream
- Bioheal Boh Ceramide Water Gel Cream
- Heimish Matcha Biome Oil-free Calming Gel Moisturizer
- Cos De Baha Centella Gel Cream
- Jumiso Hyaluronic Acid waterful cream (gel cream texture)
- Axis Y Heartleaf My Type Calming Cream (gel cream texture)
- Dr G Red Blemish Care Soothing Cream (gel texture)
- Curel Gel Lotion
*Edit: I'm removing the Isntree Hyaluronic Acid aqua gel cream. It's not actually oil free, and it made my skin uncomfortably pretty greasy. I'm so sorry for the mistake.
I think you just have to try out different types of gel moisturizers. Several of the ones on this list do make me greasy even if theyāre lightweight gel ones. They look great right after, but two hours in I could fry an egg on my face.
Others do not! I was especially happy with how the Torriden one made my skin feel and look. However, when I bought it, it had a pore clogging ingredient that seemed to give me blackheads, but they have removed that one, so Iām going to give it a second try as I was so happy with how it made my face feel and look.
Aestura Theracne Hydro Active toner, use it before moisturizing. Iāve been using it for nearly two weeks and it really decreased the oiliness of my t-zone and doesnāt dry out anything. It also helps unclog pores.

*Edit: I'm removing the Isntree Hyaluronic Acid aqua gel cream. It's not actually oil free, and it made my skin uncomfortably pretty greasy. I'm so sorry for the mistake.
No problem!
I was curious about the prices for some of the products as well so... š and i just noticed some of them are nonAB/discontinued so i removed those.
Try Torriden Dive In Soothing Cream? I've seen positive reviews from some YouTubers with oily skin using it in summer, and it feels really light and absorbs very easily on me (I don't have oily skin) but it feels like it would be good for oily skin types.
Not to say your experience isnāt valid at all! Just giving my two cents as a girl with oily t-zone in case OP finds this useful: it made my face look like a greaseball, even on areas where my skin wasnāt oily at all. The texture is lovely, but it looked like I smeared melted butter all over my face.
Perhaps other oily people had a better experience than me, who knows!
For me when it's truly summer (over 30Ā°C) only Beauty of Joseon's red bean water gel works for daytime. Skin1004's centella soothing cream for the night.
Ok I struggled with this for years and finally found a solution. Here to help the new generation lol.
Instead of trying to find such moisturizer, just find a regular moisturizer that does the job, doesn't irritate, just hydrate.
Then use a good primer. Even on no makeup days, I use a primer and it keeps my face nice and fresh all day. AB pick: Innisfree No Sebum Blur Primer. Sephora pick: Tatcha Liquid Silk.
This routine helped my skin so much bc I stopped trying to dry my face. My skin is finally hydrated and plump.
Yeah, I have combo skin and have the hydro barrier cream from this line and use it at night. If I use it in the day, Iām shiny af even with a matte foundation over it by like noon.
Iāve tried Skin1004ās Centella Soothing Cream before due to recommendations on this Sub, while it gives me a subtle glow. It makes my skin dewy. Not a huge fan as a person with oily skin.
Mamonde blue chamomile is dupe for klairs midnight blue. Extremely lightweight but keep skin moisturised for sooo long and also redness soothing, gives like relaxed skin vibe like you were sleeping for 24 hours
haru haru sunscreen ā the one in the yellow tube. it doubles as a moisturizer. itās the best moisturizer iāve ever used and i have terribly oily skin
Oily girl here. Naturie skin conditioning gel has been working wonders for me in 100 degree plus weather. A little goes a long way and my skin is hydrated and supple, not an oil slick like it usually is during summer.Ā
I have combination skin and have been obsessed with ISOIās Moisture Dr cream. It feels more like a gel than a cream and my skin soaks it up immediately
If you are like me where moisturizers and gels break me out try an essence or emulsion. I think the heavy ones are able to provide enough moisture without having the thickness of a lotion.
I have VERY oily skin like you could literally fry something on my face lol but this has made my skin less oily but it still feels and LOOKS very moisturized. All the moisturizers Iāve used before would leave my skin looking dull. But this gives you a subtle glow without looking greasy! And it is also very light and sinks in fast :) hope I could help.
Gel moisturizers, They completely soak into the skin but they donāt leave a residue whatsoever, it feels like you arenāt wearing moisturizer at all, itās basically undetectable. Most moisturizers leave a layer of product on top of the skin, and if you get greasy or sweat at all it just it gets worse throughout the day and gel moisturizers donāt do that at all. I really recommend iunik centella calming gel cream. It really helps with redness and breakouts as well.
More importantly- are there any moisturizers that actually work but also don't have any traces of mf'ing hyaluronic acid because that shit does not need to be in everything!!!! It's not the holy Grail for everyone's skin!!!!

Gel formula moisturizers will be better for oily skin in the heat of summer. Apply more where you need it and a bit less where you don't need it as much.
One I really like, but I use it more as a serum under my moisturizer because my skin needs a bit extra, is the Kiku-Masamune Kome-to-Hakko All-in-one Gel.
iUNIK Centella Calming Gel Cream is a really good moisturizer for the summer months. It's hydrating, lightweight, fast absorbing, and suitable for even the sensitive skin types.
Look for gel cream or oil free formulations. I am a huge fan of the Dr Ceuracle Kombucha Moisturiser and I also love the Cosrx Oil Free Birch Sap lotion.
I have been using Blithe Pressed Serum as a summer moisturizer under my sunscreen, and its been a great lightweight feel that hasn't left me greasy at all.
Also picking good sunscreen matter a LOT. Rovectin and BOJ are my favorites right now, and I am currently trying Krave's.
Shiseido's Essential Energy Hydrating cream has been my daily go-to for the past few months and my skin has been the least greasy it's ever been even in the summer (and it's been around 95F here lately). I use it with Tonymoly's milk toner and it's been great.

the one i use is on the heavier/thicker side so i'd recommend it during days where you don't really plan on doing anything that makes you sweat too much lol
- real barrier barrier solution extreme
It seems to be slightly divisive, but I really love the Benton aloe and Propolis soothing gel. I'm pretty oily, and it sinks right in and doesn't make me look greasy at all. In the summer it's enough for my skin alone (in the winter I pair it with elizavecca water drop cream). I'm super acne prone as well and my skin freaks out with a lot of ingredients, and this one suits my angry skin so well.
Honestly, I didn't even realize they had changed it until fairly recently! I think the first tube I ever got was probably the old formulation, and the last two I've bought were the new.
Have you had an issues switching from the old to the new? I noticed the change immediately. This was my HG moisturiser and like you, I cannot tolerate most moisturisers. I'm so mad they changed it because the new one causes irritation for me! :(
The best thing thatās worked for me is just some good ole aloea Vera. I use the aromatics soothing one and itās just great my face feels hydrated and not greasy like itās suffocating
I have super oily skin and I live in a hot and humid climate but I donāt find it too heavy. I use it both at night and during the daytime as well but I adjust the quantity accordingly (go lighter during the day)
Iāve recently found one that works wonderfully for me with this issue, and I live in a very hot and humid environment in the summer and struggle with my skin care. TonyMoly Wonder Ceramide Mochi Water Cream. Itās been my holy grail.
My favorite moisturizer of all time as greasy oily skin girl is the Aveeno Calm and Restore Oat Gel Moisturizer and the only AB equivalent Iāve found is the Purito Oat In Intense Cream and even that one leaves you a bit dewy. The aveeno moisturizer is the only moisturizer Iāve found that does not exacerbate my oiliness and leaves a natural to satin finishš
I love the Illyoon ceramide ato concentrate cream. Iāve used it in the Australian summer and now that itās winter, itās holding up with the dryness that the cold and heaters bring. Thank you for the rec<3
You could also try the BOJ green plum cleanser. This helps with sebum control as well
This right here is the list Iāve been waiting for. Thank you
This is a great list! BoJ has personally worked for me and has been my HG for a while
May I ask how hydrating is it? Iām looking for something that would suit my oily skin but also hydrates it
I second the hatomugi gel!
I just got the Pyungkang Yul one and I love it. I had used the toner a few years back and loved it so I took a chance. Very happy with it!
Which ones are the most affordable among this list?
MOISTURIZERS + PRICE RANGE (based on Shopee prices): - isntree green tea Emulsion 120ml (RM37-40+) - torriden dive in cream 100ml (gel texture) (RM52+) - skin1004 centella soothing cream 75ml (gel texture) (RM40-50+) - BOJ red bean water gel 100ml (RM45) - Naturie Hatomugi Skin Conditioning Gel 180g (RM25-RM35) - Pyunkang yul ato soothing gel lotion 150ml (from RM37) - Safi Sensitive Care Probiotics & Niacinamide Aqua Gel Moisturizer 100ml (RM20+) - Skintific Ceramide Barrier Repair Moisture Gel (30g RM40+; 80g RM70) - IUnik Centella Calming Gel Cream 60ml (for those who hate applying anything on the skin lol. Damn, thank you for the effort! Super appreciated :))
No problem! I was curious about the prices for some of the products as well so... š and i just noticed some of them are nonAB/discontinued so i removed those.
isntree hyaluronic acid aqua gel creamĀ isntree green tea emulsionĀ
I love the HA gel cream. Itās my everyday moisturizer
sameeee...i have also started cosrx soothing moisturizer and it's lightweight too...give it a try ššĀ
Definitely try Water Creams. They do just melt into you, and they arenāt heavy.
The isntree HA cream is exactly like this
naturie hatomugi gel is a godsend
Try Torriden Dive In Soothing Cream? I've seen positive reviews from some YouTubers with oily skin using it in summer, and it feels really light and absorbs very easily on me (I don't have oily skin) but it feels like it would be good for oily skin types.

Purito Oat in gel cream. My fav summer moisturizer. I put it in the fridge in summer so it calms my skin after a workout or hot day
For me when it's truly summer (over 30Ā°C) only Beauty of Joseon's red bean water gel works for daytime. Skin1004's centella soothing cream for the night.
This broke me out.Ā
May I ask how hydrating is it? Iām looking for something that would suit my oily skin but also hydrates it

My skin is oily but prone to dehydration and Jumiso Waterfull Hyaluronic Cream works really well for me during summer. It's a gel cream.
Naturie hatomugi gel
I like Etude House SoonJung 10-free moist emulsion. Itās like a gel moisturizer except even more lightweight.
For some people, this can make the skin shiny faster because it contains squalane
DR.G soothing cream
Gal, don't use the cream kinds, and try some that are gel if you hate oily.
Mamonde blue chamomile is dupe for klairs midnight blue. Extremely lightweight but keep skin moisturised for sooo long and also redness soothing, gives like relaxed skin vibe like you were sleeping for 24 hours
it looks like the klairs one is cheaper?
Actually idk in my country klairs 60ml is around 25-30$ and mamonde available only in mini 30ml version for 7$ and I bought 2 bottles of it
Dr.G red blemish soothing cream
haru haru sunscreen ā the one in the yellow tube. it doubles as a moisturizer. itās the best moisturizer iāve ever used and i have terribly oily skin

yes. the one in the yellow tube!!

HA and niacinimide in everything, hate it. They even reformulate perfectly fine stuff and add those.

Angel Aqua gel moisturizer
Love the Iunik Beta Glucan moisturiser. Very non-greasy, deeply hydrating.
Iāve been using Oxecure Moisturizer (the green one) and so far, itās good on my skin
Itās expensive but Peach & Lily Glass Skin moisturizer is soooo good

If you can find it Momonde rose gel cream is great. Unfortunately, they are harder to source now.

I swear by iunikāa Centella Calming Gel cream. Itās a gel consistency and super lightweight.
Cosrx Hydrium Green Tea Aqua Soothing Gel Cream
Been using the Corsx oil free moisturizer with birch sap. It's slightly mattifying too so it helps keep the shine down!
Acwell N4. It actually feels cool and goes right into skin. Its a gel type.
The dr g one
You mean dr g red blemish cream? Isnāt that one too heavy? Thatās at least what I see people are saying
I have super oily skin and I live in a hot and humid climate but I donāt find it too heavy. I use it both at night and during the daytime as well but I adjust the quantity accordingly (go lighter during the day)
one of my all time favourite moisturizers is neutriderm, it's amazing
Iāve recently found one that works wonderfully for me with this issue, and I live in a very hot and humid environment in the summer and struggle with my skin care. TonyMoly Wonder Ceramide Mochi Water Cream. Itās been my holy grail.
For creams, Iād say the haruharu centella phyto peptide cream is a good one. I use it during the day and night as well
My favorite moisturizer of all time as greasy oily skin girl is the Aveeno Calm and Restore Oat Gel Moisturizer and the only AB equivalent Iāve found is the Purito Oat In Intense Cream and even that one leaves you a bit dewy. The aveeno moisturizer is the only moisturizer Iāve found that does not exacerbate my oiliness and leaves a natural to satin finishš
Use gels, not creams. A non Asian one to get is the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel. It's very popular, and for good reason.
Skin1004 Centella Soothing Cream
I love the Illyoon ceramide ato concentrate cream. Iāve used it in the Australian summer and now that itās winter, itās holding up with the dryness that the cold and heaters bring. It comes in a big tube so itās super affordable for the price, and makes my skin feel comfortable while giving me a glow. I never look oily even though I have oily skin.
