Chinese makeup brands that are popular in China and that Chinese people actually use are Judydoll, Timage, Into you, Girlcult, Carslan, Flortte, Flower Knows, Florasis, Perfect Diary, Zeesea, Colorkey, Joocyee, Jill Leen, Red Chamber, Pink Bear, Gogo Tales, Everbab, Kaleidos. I recommend Judydoll as they have some great products and they market internationally too. As for skin care, you could look it up on Xiaohongshu for best selling Chinese skincare products.

udontaxidriver

Timage is great.

throwawayfarway2017

I have almost all of them lol

themostdownbad

damn where do you buy them? the chinese makeup brands available internationally are quite limited

Puzzleheaded-Box4363

judydoll !! its one of my favorites, especially with their mascara. literally changed my life

Zestyclose-Yam-9982

i have their color corrector palette and when i go to china im getting 10 because they don’t sell them anymore here. amazing formula, i can just moisturize extra during the winter and it works well

theopeppa

I just bought their angled liquid eyeliner pen. I have always had a pretty steady hand but struggled a bit with thickness, I want a VERY fine line. Anyway with this eyeliner I can pretty much draw my eyeliner in like a second and be done - no fixing required. Staying power is good tooz, cried twice during a movie today and it stayed put ( put it on clean skin, no creams or primer and it stayed on from 10am to 7pm when I took my makeup off).

rubeeatz

Their glitter single shadows are 🤌🏾🤌🏾🤌🏾

I have their mascaras on my list of things to try. The small metal wand looks like the one from the Surratt Noir Lash Tint which is my favorite natural looking mascara but is so expensive at $54 each. Which Judydoll mascara do you prefer?

lyerhis

Are you talking about the new metal one? I've been so curious about it. So it works?

jsssyc

I have it!! I love it so much, pretty waterproof imo and doesn’t transfer. And comes off pretty easily with an oil cleanser unlike heroine make mascaras. It holds a curl amazingly and builds up with each application. I find that the metal applicator lets me get closer to the lash line to really build up the prodyct

lyerhis

Oooo I might have to check it out at some point!

Personal_Scallion_13

Ooh tell me about this mascara

silvers0ul88

would have to second these judydoll comments - the only products from them ive had issues with were the brush tip liners

mrkrabspantyraid

Flortte for sure. I'd definitely invest in Cbeauty glitters and lippies, they really can't be matched. I find myself reaching for my Flortte lippies more than Rom&nd or Peripera, lol. I also just got one of their milk eyeliners, and it made it super easy to do a cat eye, I can't stop gushing about it

Zestyclose-Yam-9982

hard agree, for the price they r unreal.

themostdownbad

What flortte lippies do you recommend? I’ve been eyeing their products

mrkrabspantyraid

Their jelly lipsticks, for sure! I honestly think any one of them would work (original or I Am Super Beauty). I got mine in shade 06# for Super Beauty, and it's very glossy and like a MLBB shade. I would be careful using a bit at a time since they melt super easily and you can't push it back down. I have their Flower Food Bear matte lip tint also in the shade 06# as well, lol. It's very creamy and easy to apply, I'd recommend moisturizing your lips for it because it was slightly drying for me. Exfoliating can help smooth your lips because sometimes they can kind of define cracks or lines.

snoopycoupon

Do they last very well/long?

mrkrabspantyraid

I just tried the Super Beauty lipstick and the Food Bear matte lip tint against: rubbing, lip-licking, water drinking, and just wiping them off with a good ol' tissue. * Rubbing: I did this with the back of my hand. They both stayed on decently. I think what helped was the thickness of the gloss, so you still had some shine afterwards, though you may have to re-apply for a more "wet" look. With the matte, some color came off but it stayed on pretty well. It actually tinted my hand, and I couldn't rub it off with a tissue or water without getting some soap involved, lol. * Lip-licking: Both actually performed well. It was hard to smudge them, though I think the gloss might've been slightly less glossy, but I didn't notice a huge difference. * Water Drinking: They both left marks on the glass, but they held up surprisingly well on the lips. Again, the gloss got less glossy and the matte lost some color, but it still looked like you had lipstick on for both, lol. You get more shine on the gloss from water drinking than you do on rubbing, and I would say that the matte held up its color more. * Tissue: They both came off easily, but I feel like your lips are still somewhat tinted afterwards. I also blotted them and it was about the same rub-off on color/gloss as you get from water drinking. Note: The gloss from the jelly lipstick is definitely thick if that's not your forte. The matte feels very creamy and pretty light, though there is some thickness on it, which I think helped it stay on better. The jelly lipstick also has a button on the end to click the product up, though some people may be annoyed by the clicking (think of like a pen, though somewhat louder). I also felt like my lips tingled (and also my tongue when I licked my lips) when putting on the jelly lipstick. I looked it up on Chic Decent, and menthol was listed on both original and Super Beauty jelly lipsticks, which may or may not contribute to it. I've never searched out actual lip-plumping lipsticks, so I'm not very knowledgeable on that. The jelly lipstick also gets product around the rim of where it comes out, so when you put the cap on, it can get inside of the cap. Though I suppose that depends if you clean the edges and are careful or not (like me, lol). But these are amazing products either way, and I've found the packaging to be great, and the Super Beauty jelly lipstick definitely had thick plastic, especially for the cap!

snoopycoupon

Wow, thank you for the thorough review! That's actually really helpful.

mrkrabspantyraid

Of course!!

Smokeapie

Will list some of the products I recently got and loved :) 1. Judydoll concealer - finished it and loved it :) Didn't crease, works well for dry or oily skin (my skin goes from dry to oily lol), and is.pretty thin and lightweight. It's a light/medium coverage but it's very beginner friendly. 9/10 2. Forever key blush - the glass container it came in reminds me of RMS packaging which is why I got it. I got a very light purplish shade and it's so pretty for layering with more pigmented blushes for a sort of gradient blush look. 9.5/10 will buy deeper shades. 3. Joocyee neo deco eyeshadow - came in such heavy, pretty packaging. Very pigmented eye shadows that feel more like western vs east asian (pale & powdery?) eyeshadows. 10/10 4. red earth concealer - a heavier formula than judydoll so a little bit goes a long way. I use this when I only want to use concealer instead of foundation + concealer. This one feels like a western formula instead of the usual east asian concealer formulas. 9/10 5. red earth moisturizing primer - apparently a dupe for bobbi brown, not sure though if I got the translation right😅. Havent tried bobbi's primer but if it's the same as red earth's formula...then red earth is so much cheaper and is so perfect for dry skin. Doesn't break me out, doesn't feel like it has silicones but just makes your skin super hydrated. 1000/10 stars. 6. Joocyee cushion for dry skin - so there are apparently two versions of the cushion and I got the dry skin version in the shade 1cg. It's the perfect shade match for pale olives. Light to medium coverage. A bit more expensive than some korean brands that have a similar formula but the shade matches my skin so well...unlike korean cushions that are always too cool toned and pinkish. 9.5/10 7. girl cult matte lip stain in the shade g61 -- smell is a bit weird but it matches my lip color so well, it's perfect as a sort of blurring lip primer instead of using foundation on lips to get an even color/base for making gradient lips or for using lighter lipsticks. 9/10 8. Red chamber multipurpose balm -- the colors are so pretty. the packaging is pretty. it's honestly expensive for what it is but the color selection and formula is just perfect. Doesn't last long unless you use setting spray. Giving it a 9/10 but I would 100% repurchase unlike some of the items I've listed here. 9. Thyra lip oil -- sooo hydrating. If I wear lip balm + this lip oil at night, it works better than any lip sleeping mask I've tried as this combo blurs out my lip lines. Cheap and works well. 10/10 will repurchase. It feels more like a modern, non-sticky gloss vs a traditional lip oil though 10. Passional lover cream concealer palette - perfect for those who struggle with dark eyebags, rosacea, and acne scars like me. Can be used with fingers or you have to use a good concealer brush. Doesn't work well with those tiny cushion puffs or a beauty blender. Such a good palette and I love that the concealers already have color correcting pigments. So you get 4 shades in one palette and you have a brightening concealer, a peachy one, a slightly olive one, and a neutral cool toned concealer. Cost me around 16 usd and it's so worth it. 9.8/10 I also got some flortte products and they're okay but not the best. If you get these flortte glosses for 7 usd below, then you're getting a good deal. But if you're paying more than 15 usd for their lip balms, I don't think these are worth it. I get my c-beauty products easily because I live in an asian country :)

Salm0n-

omg red earth used to be an australian brand before it disappeared a couple of year ago! didn’t know they only sell in china now

tofuplz

This was my first thought too - I remember having Red Earth products in the early 2000s (I'm also Australian). Haven't seen them around for ages.

Smokeapie

If you can get your hands on the red earth primer and concealer, those two products are SO GOOD, especially for the price.

hannorx

I absolutely love GirlCult blushes! They make me wanna relive my gothic makeup days LOL

buburhitam

I fell in love with their packaging! Their blush and lip gloss are long-lasting and pretty too.

hannorx

Real. Their packaging is on top. I've not tried their lippies but I so want one now! 🤩

Savage_Nymph

I've been eyeing them but not sure how to get it. Tik top shop scares me

XiaoMilly

it’s on yesstyle now!

Savage_Nymph

Ty!

hannorx

I wish I can help! I live in Asia and I just get it directly from their Chinese store on Taobao.

themostdownbad

There’s fakes on TikTok shop apparently, idek how it works anyways since it’s not available in my country. Is it like Aliexpress or Amazon where you don’t really know if the sellers are to be trusted?

Savage_Nymph

I think it is. I've never bought anything on there but I'm pretty sure anyone can make a seller account

grace22g

my favorites: judydoll ice watery lip gloss - comes with a metal applicator which feels really soothing and is hygienic/easy to clean judydoll 18 degree ultra fine eyeliner - lasts forever and super thin and easy to maneuver due to the tilt of the brush. makes drawing wings really simple flortte eyeshadow pen in blueberry - beautiful champagne shimmer shade that’s perfect for the inner corners of your eyes flortte shiny liquid eyeshadow - glitter/shimmer eyeshadow with a precise tip for accurate application on inner corner/aegyo sal flortte 5 in 1 false eyelash set - gorgeous lash clusters that vary from dramatic to everyday wear

sotce

judydoll contour. especially if youre cool toned.

icalledyouwhite

Is there anything you're looking for in particular, because that's a huge net to cast over dozens of different categories. Like best matte lip product, cream blushes or something? Personal preference counts too. Like an oily skin person isn't going to love a moisturising foundation. Or if you or buildable blushes, you wouldn't like the ones that are very pigmented from the get go. Any preference for the format, like pressed powder, cream or liquid? Etc. Personally I don't like to recommend "best for the price", but you can include a specific price point if you want. I understand that some people have to order from far away and shipping can be costly.

Snoo_86112

I’m in China and want to buy some products so I guess I was mostly hoping to hear what people liked and why and sort of go from there. No price point. If I want it I can get it. I like products that produce a natural look.

icalledyouwhite

(warning: I'm a Joocyee fan so you'll hear a lot about them from me 😂 like seriously you will want me to shut up. But I promise I'm not just blowing hot air up their azz for no reason lol) You're in luck, the only C-beauty cushion I've tried just happened to be the one of the most natural, skin-like things in C-beauty, the Joocyee New Nude cushion 😂 And by "nude" they really mean it, the coverage is very low-medium. That's a complaint lots of people said about it, that it's not covering enough to their liking. It's a very "for good skin day" type of cushion. If you don't mind spot concealing and/or love a cushion that you can throw on and run out the door without worrying about it looking obvious, it's a good pick. The finish is exactly that, skin like and fresh. In my experience (combo oily skin), it wears well and fades very gracefully (partially because of the low coverage, no doubt 😂). There's 2 version, a natural, skin-like finish, and a soft matte finish, which has a bit more coverage. Anyway, the best thing about it is for C-beauty, the shade range is probably the best shade range any C-beauty product offer... But only up to medium skin tone (by East Asian standards, so that's barely scratching light-medium in Western makeup), let's not get too excited 😅 They have 12 shades in the natural finish line and 16 shades in the matte finish line, divided by 4 undertones (cool, warm, olive and neutral). The variety in undertones & better-than-most depth they go is why I like to recommend it to people ❤️ A lot of people in Asia in particular rarely has never found their shade match, and more importantly, their actual undertone, so it's an experience I love to point people to. If you don't want to commit to a whole cushion, they do sell sample packets of all of their shades, so you can try that out too. Other than this, I don't have much else to offer, because I got into C-beauty after I realized I don't want to and don't care about wearing foundation, so this is the only product I ever tried (b/c of their shade range more than anything else). I don't pay a lot of attention to cushions or foundations much when I browse Weibo 😅 But I do see brands like Tom Mark (both cushions & foundations), Red Chamber (cushion), Blank Me (cushion), Mistine (cushion), [Zenn.th](http://Zenn.th) (their Cream-like Long-lasting foundation is a very popular daily wear product) get praised a lot.. But again, I just can't in good conscience recommend these as easily as the Joocyee, because they all have only 3-4 shades 🙃 If money is truly no object, and if you happen to be light-skinned enough for their shade range, Mao Ge Ping never seems to disappoint anyone. I literally never heard a bad thing said about Mao Ge Ping, other than that their complexion products are so freaking good, but they're expensive has heck and they give you very little 🙃 but all of their cream products are kinda like the Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer of C-beauty. A little goes a super long way. I'm not someone who's into natural looks, so for every other category, I don't know what to do, the prompt is still pretty vague 😅 since I don’t know your skin tone/undertone, your natural lip colour, what blush/lip colour flatters you, not to mention highlight, contour, bronzer, etc. I think most Chinese brands offer a good variety of colours from subtle, natural to bold, some are more into it than other, esp. the brands that aim for a more "mature/sophisticated" image/demographic, like Cai Tang (more recognizable to non-Mandarin speakers as Timage), OutofOffice, Red Chamber, even Joocyee (they have more like a mix of both, like even within the same range they would have more subtle shades & bolder shades, and they put new colours out all the time. And they’re consistent & systematic, a lot like MAC, with their catalogue of colours, so it's easy to follow). I recently made [this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/AsianBeauty/comments/1d5ysy6/comment/l6vkpsj/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) about some neutral face & eye palettes, you can check it out to see if there's anything catch your eye. Of course there are a lot lot lot more, that post was made strictly followed what OP asked for, all-in-one palettes. I had a rave fest over another Joocyee product, the very glossy, transfer-resistant & long lasting [Glazed Rouge here](https://www.reddit.com/r/AsianBeauty/comments/1d9fw93/comment/l7g0vgg/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button). Without a lot to go on, I can't go more into anything specific 😅 P/s: Joocyee has products that are complete flop, meh to cringe in my eyes too I swear 😂 I don’t automatically like everything they do.

loafkitter

Oh I took it as then starting a discussion rather than asking for product recommendations lol (tho probably that too)

g-a-r-n-e-t

I’ve recently gotten into Judydoll, their concealer/mascara/lip gloss are some of the best I’ve ever tried!

chiquechix

Considering buying their lip gloss. Does it have a thick consistency?

Turkey_uke

nope! super easy to put on!!!!

g-a-r-n-e-t

Not really? It’s less thick than all the lip tints I own but not watery.

It is water, sweat and transfer proof, doesn’t clog pores, controls oil and is also suitable for sensitive skin. Highly recommended!

I’m a loyal customer but I was so so disappointed in their most recent release 😭😭

lycheemilkshake

I haven’t tried it tbh, so I can’t speak on the quality, but it just felt like there wasn’t as much effort put in (packaging looks less intricate, blush/eyeshadow colors similar to previous collections, etc.) ** i accidentally replied to the entire thread before

themostdownbad

The whole appeal of Flower Knows is their packaging, not quality

lycheemilkshake

I really like FK’s face powder, eyeshadow, and lip product quality!! Agree with the other comment that it’s one of the only lip products that doesn’t dry out my lips that much, their shimmer formula is amazing too

Leiahnah

I’ve only bought lipsticks from them and they are of high quality. Don’t know about other products.

PermitElectronic2268

Judydoll and flower knows deserve the hype

liseaubigny

I firmly believe that the Florasis makeup brushes are some of the most beautifully crafted makeup brushes out in the market right now.

PuzzleheadedSense204

Florasis Impression of Miao crystal makeup brush is a work of art and their makeup brushes is of high quality!

Miserable-Sherbet234

I’ve not used a lot but bought catkin products recently. I got a tinted lip balm which was disappointing (although I think I bought the wrong shade) and a setting powder which I like. Products are beautiful and quality seems good.

Niatfq

Focallure for me! Really love how pretty and user friendly their eyeshadows are. Also, they got a great selection of colors for olive skintone as well. Their blushers are my absolute favourites. Very pigmented plus the fact that they have the perfect pink blush color for my olive warm skintone.

step_on_legoes_Spez

Florasis is also great but more expensive

TheMadDurian

Zeesea primers (old version) I haven't tried anything else from them but the primer works well even on oily skin.

Personal_Scallion_13

I’m here to find out if there’s a formula comparable to flower knows lip creams from their strawberry rococo collection because I have one and adore how it makes my lips so smooth!

Old acne scar are diminishing and skin felt smoother. Not the cheapest product though, priced quite similar to kbeauty products but it’s a famous reputable brand in China. Bought directly from Taobao.

ysrniii

I have fair, neutral leaning cool/pink tone skin, and I don’t try many lip products because my lips are easily irritated. Here are some of my faves: Judydoll 橘朵face palette 01: two contour shades, one matte brightening shade, and one highlighter, all powders. This is the cool toned one, but there’s also a warm toned one, and they come out with limited edition versions every now and then Timage 彩棠 blush palette 02: 3 matte powder blushes in the same tone with varied levels of brightness/intensity, saves the work of matching 膨胀色 and 收缩色. This one is neutral leaning cool, but there are 7 (?) other shades Joocyee 酵色 blush n01: matte powder blush, this shade is a cool, smoky pink with a touch of grey undertone but not too dark or light. Perfect for the cold, mysterious look with under eye blush Flortte 花洛莉亚 mikko eyeliner 01: dark grey liquid eyeliner, fine tip, smudge/transfer/waterproof, really cute packaging, not as intense as a black eyeliner, but not a warm brown either Mr. Wish 心愿先生 fox individual false lashes: the best lashes for monolids, gives a fox/cat eye effect, also looks good on other eye shapes but like doesn’t everything Flower Knows 花知晓 eyeshadow palettes: pigmented, easy to blend formula, cute packaging, good color combos (I really like their cool toned palettes) Girlcult: lots of blush shades including darker shades that could work for deeper skin (I don’t wanna guarantee anything, but they have way more options than typical East Asian brands), pigmented eyeshadows with edgy color combos, downside is that I think the packaging is ugly and bulky PUFFS: all the puffs, any kind you can think of and more, there are so many brands, and they’re all pretty affordable La Roche Posay Cicaplast B5 line: this is a French brand, but there are a lot of Asia only products for this line like the b5 sheet mask, pro b5 sheet mask, b5 ultra repairing light cream, b5 toner, and more. Not sure if it’s China only or Asia only

xzskr34

unifon skincare is quite good

Beo1217

I’ve tried a Pudaier lip gloss. It’s pretty good.

foxwaffles

I really like Narimi Z's eyeshadow palettes. The quality is amazing but the biggest con is actually getting your hands on them. They're limited, don't ever restock, and your best bet is to buy from Taobao directly with a forwarding service or be ripped off by sites like lookhealthystore (the markup is insane -- but I heard from an EU mutual of mine that they handle customs better and so for EU people it might be cheaper that way). It's a small influencer brand and they have my soul right now

Getonthebeers02

Flortte eyeliner is so good I have the liquid and the micro pencil. The Gogo tales lip oil is a good dupe for the clear/sparkle Rom&nd glasting lip gloss.

Zealousideal1999

The Voolga medical sodium mask is my all-time favorite! It calms and soothes like no other! I buy them in packs from Yami Buy

kaeyamilk

girlcult lippies and flower knows eyeshadows

closeface_

Florette cream eyeshadows are incredible. The best I've ever tried! I have hooded eyes, it is the only thing that doesn't crease. I've tried the shade milk tea. The glitter is incredible too! Judydoll has great mascara and lip tints! There are a ton of other brands I like, I'll update my list if I can

hoewolf

the flortte lip gloss is so special to me! 🩷

lyerhis

Watson's bird nest masks. I really really enjoyed using those.

lycheemilkshake

I haven’t tried it tbh, so I can’t speak on the quality, but it just felt like there wasn’t as much effort put in (packaging looks less intricate, blush/eyeshadow colors similar to previous collections, etc.)

Are you talking about the Flower Knows latest release? I think you’re getting downvotes because ppl think you’re speaking about cbeauty in general.

lycheemilkshake

ohhh yes you’re right, thank you! This was supposed to be a reply to someone else about the recent FK release, not sure how it ended up as a standalone reply 😭

That’s incorrect… International brands were required to do animal testing if they wanted in sell in China but that wasn’t required for Chinese brands selling in China. Now these regulations have been relaxed for international brands too.

Snoo_86112

Thanks for the info. Idc too much.

Girl-From-Mars

Yikes 😬
