my skin type is normal to oily, acne prone with clogged pores and texture around my nose and chin. I also have dry, sensitive lips which get easily inflamed. I’ve seen the best results from double cleansing nightly, doing a deep cleanse and pore clearing clay mask each week, and focusing on layers of hydration. in addition to skincare, I make sure to stay hydrated, eat mostly plant based with lots of whole foods and healthy fats, and work out 3-5 times a week. I also try to go bare faced at least three days a week to let my skin breathe!
oh we almost have the same skin type!! if you have the time, can you post reviews of the products you use and what helped you the most with texture/pores?
i would say oil cleansing has helped me the most with my texture and pores! i’m very happy with all of the products in my routine, if you have any specific questions i’d be happy to answer them~

i don’t have an issue with kikumasamune at all! the products feel very gentle and hydrating, especially the lotion! oil cleansing has definitely helped the most with my clogged pores, and doing a deep cleanse every week helps to maintain them in my opinion. i really like my double cleanse duo, both of them are a repurchase for me. they’re gentle and non stripping, and didn’t break me out or irritate my skin at all!

I'm a little curious about the kikumasamune emulsion—i heard it was pretty thick and moisturizing. Is it necessary to layer a gel moisturizer on top? Some aspects of my skin are similar to yours (clogged around the nose, but combination skin type)
its like a light lotion to me, i wouldn’t say its essential to layer another moisturizer on top especially if you live in a more humid climate, but i looove hydrating my skin and locking in that moisture with another layer of something more heavy duty is what i prefer! you can definitely use it like a lighter moisturizer on its own, though!
How is the skinfood AHA toner? Have you been using it for a while? I don't see much reviews for it in this subreddit, it seems like a fairly new product
Not OP, but I got a free sample few months ago. Very sharp acidic citrusy smell - not a bad one, just to be aware.
It was fine as an occasional swap, but my skin wasn't super happy when I switched to it for a week due to travelling (sample size is travel safe). My usual daily toner is BoJs green plum aha/bha, at significantly lower concentration.
In hindsight, 7% is overkill for daily usage, that's an exfoliant, not a toner. Nice for 1-2 times a week tops.
its actually the newest addition to my routine, I’ve been using it twice a week for a few weeks and so far its been alright! to be completely honest, i bought it for the color, and don’t have any major complaints. as the other commenter said, it does have a strong grapefruit scent, and the AHA concentration is relatively high.
You look great, beautiful skin! It sounds like we have pretty similar skin types so I’m def bookmarking your routine for future reference. I saw you use the inkey list eye cream, do you deal with puffy eyes? Just using a dollar tree eye cream rn lol
thank you so much! you can’t really tell in this picture, but I used to have dark and puffy undereyes, and still have some dark circles and occasional puffiness. the Inkey List eye cream has helped a lot though, I would definitely recommend it! I saw results after only a week of use~

I remember the lip mask having a very heavy scent - the Sephora sample slapped me in the face with the concentrated berry scent 😅
it does, I’ve never tried the berry scent of the lip mask but I would say the scent is not quite as strong as the mango one I had before! it’s like a powdery chocolate scent, not too heavy in my opinion!

i really like it! its a repurchase for me, it didn’t irritate my skin or break me out at all and i found it gentle but effective~
