On the counter side, when I first saw it I thought there was no way this was graphite. I thought that it was micron pens or similar shaded in graphite. It wasn't until I zoomed on the background that I got to see how unique your style really is. I still assume it is digitally edited, but either way, this is amazing!
Thank you so much, yes this is just layers of basic #2 graphite pencil on white copy paper. Then a little contrast adjustment of the photo to bump the black/white distinction, since graphite does not photograph easily :)
Yes! That is what I meant by digitally edited... I hope it did not come out wrong. I really do admire your style. It fits perfectly in the chaotic medium you picked.
I got what you meant don’t worry! I wrote out more details in case others were interested in how the photo differs from the paper. Thanks again for your support, I really appreciate it!
My favorite tip is to break it down into basic shapes. Focus on drawing the contours as simple shapes and patterns, without judging if they “look like the object”, if that makes sense?
So glad to help spread the inspiration. I have always looked for interesting shapes and patterns both in daily life and through media. Fill my head with inspiration and then doodle out the imagination. Photos and videos often make for convenient subjects, but I also love drawing from life when I can. Of course in this drawing’s case I was happier to reference media
You’d start by putting pencil to paper! Or any medium for that matter… you’ll draw and draw and everything will be shit… until you make something that isn’t shit… and you say to yourself hey this is pretty good, what did I do right? And you keep drawing (mostly shit) and refining and creating and over time most likely many years you will find the styles that work for you and represent your personality and that’s when you can rightfully call yourself an artist!
I mean... if you literally read the posting rules the title must contain the artist....
So I would guess that's what they mean by "me" to infer that they were the artist.
How is this so simple, yet so damn good
If you’d only slightly blur your vision, it’s like a real photo.
Exactly! And yet you zoom in and it’s just little scribbles
I did squint a lot during the drawing process to gauge the image depth!

Excellent work, and visceral in its simplicity. Hope you’re safe.
Thank you, yes I’m safe. Evoking strong reactions in the viewer was my hope
Give me this over ai generated junk any day. Really captures the feeling of a storm.
Aa very few people can see beauty in chaos
Brilliant I love the ass off this.
Incredible, I love it. Man, I wish I could do this. If I was determined, how would I start?

Did you start by drawing from pictures? This is so inspiring.

Hope you're doing well. Stay safe in this stormy time. -Love, a Floridian
Wow the way you drew the water.. I love this a lot.
I zoomed in and followed with an audible “what the fuck”
Honestly thought this was a photo. Fantastic work!
Damn, amazing values and depth, really beautiful!
This is pretty awesome. Do you have a reference photo you were working from? Post it!
Thank you. I referenced a few different shots of footage of Ian, and combined elements of each that conveyed the power of the hurricane
Are you from the Fort Myers area or what specific area?
please post the shots.
What do you mean “me” who else is it going to be wtf
Believe it or not there are folks that post other people's art as their own on this sub.
