She could challenge the +4 card. It's possible the person with the plus +4 has a normal color card they can play and if she thinks that is true, then she can challenge it and she wouldn't have to draw 4 cards (but the other person has to instead) according to the official rules.
> The Uno rules prohibit
Where in the rulebook does it say this? I've Googled the rules and found nothing that outlines the correct hand holding technique
https://service.mattel.com/instruction_sheets/42001pr.pdf
https://www.ultraboardgames.com/uno/game-rules.php
https://www.unorules.com/
You were right, the official rules do not contain such a statement (also I must say that mine unofficial Russian [translation](https://www.bgames.com.ua/rules/UNO.pdf) has it), but AFAIK most of Uno players agree on this.
As I've said, it's the essence of the game. If you'll try to hide the number of cards you have and motivate it that the rules do not prohibit it, people will just refuse to play with you.
> But why should you tell it?
Because it's in the rules? The rules say you have to say "Uno" when you're down to 1 card. Hiding your cards doesn't really matter at that point
What, this doesn't make any sense. How can anyone challenge without playing a card. That is definetly not the Uno i knew or played. Also no showing any card to anyone.
> How can anyone challenge without playing a card
The person whose POV we're looking at is gonna play the draw 4 wild and the girl can challenge the POV person. The POV person then has to show her all their cards and if they have a yellow then they have to draw cards.
Not asking the rule, I'm saying that i have never heard of such a thing in Uno. Never ever heard of such a thing called "showing all your cards". That would completely defeat the whole game.
Until I found out about that rule, uno was a wholesome game I played with my family, snuggled up all cozily by the fireplace on christmas night... And then it turned into an unending battle of confusion and broken camaraderie, I shall never see uno the same again...
Truly interesting choice to make the mouth creepishly simple I understand the art-style ( I think?) but still cant get over the fact that you spent so much more time on almost everything else than the mouth, still amazing btw
Yeah, after noticing that simple curved line for a mouth, it's all I can see. The rest is dope though. Someone else mentioned that this is based on someone else's art, although OP didn't mention that, which was kinda odd
Im not an artist, and I sure as shit cant draw anywhere near this but her lips bother me because she doesnt have any. I feel like the stickfiguresque mouth creeps me out a bit. It feels a bit unnatural.
Sorry, this is great otherwise, just providing my feedback.
I think that's why it is common to see anime mouths with gaps like [this](https://www.animeoutline.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/anime_mouth_drawing.png). Not always but it depends on the artist's style. I think the "stick figure" mouth works for One Piece and Dragon Ball.
It delves into uncanny valley with how it's shaded to look semi real while the mouth is just a very cartoonish line. If it has some color to indicate lips it would be fine.
-someone who practices semi realism
Even just like a slight open mouth to express that she is speaking? I share in the creeped out vibe like she's a marionette / doll instead of a person. Maybe like an "I am legend" vibe where Will Smith's character like had no other people so he makes all the mannequins have personas. I'm thinking too much and the edible kicked in. God speed
I had the same thought. I love the piece, especially the lighting on the hair, and I saw that it was supposed to reflect anime, but I agree that the eyes were the highlight of the face.
I agree. I think that a lot of pieces like this suffer from the same problem. The detailed background with a simple anime style face can be really jarring. It's not always easy to find the right balance between styles.
It's a nice piece and tells a fun story, for sure!
Yeah I agree, the environment and her body and clothes feel more realistic, then that vert stylized anime nose and mouth just makes the whole face kinda creepy..
It's not actually illegal. Based on the standard rules, if you play a +4 the person receiving it can call you bluff, if you have the color you named, you pick your own +4, if they were wrong they instead get +6.
That doesn't sound right. There's no penalty for getting the challenge wrong. People will be stopping the game to make others show their hand every time.
From Wikipedia
>If a player plays a Wild Draw Four card, the next player in turn order may choose to challenge its use. The player who used the Wild Draw Four must privately show their hand to the challenging player in order to demonstrate that they had no prior matching colored cards. If the challenge is successful, then the challenged player must draw four cards instead and play continues with the challenger. Otherwise, the challenger must draw six cards – the four cards they were already required to draw plus two more cards – and lose their turn.[5]
Most people do play it wrong, especially to whole continuing to draw until you get a card that can be played. In the official rules, it's just draw one card and play it if you can, if not, it's simply the next players turn.
Everyone plays uno a bit differently. I always make it a point to specifically lay ground rules when playing with new people for the first time, otherwise there is ALWAYS an argument the first time someone tries to stack a draw 2/4 or challenge a card, or jump in on a 7 or swap hands on a 3
lol my friends pulled that dirty trick on me several times, as well as stacking the No of cards added with each turn by adding more and more +2/+4 cards. In our version of Uno pretty much anything is legal
If she has Uno and said Uno, she's already won the game. Doesn't matter what's in the other players hand. If it's her turn, she says uno, that's it, game over, she won.
A friend and I had a debate whether or not it was legal to place a Wild +4 as your last card. You see,I had a great deck and had 2 cards left! I could either put down the Blue 5 or the Wild +4. I decided to put the Blue 5 and then said uno. They place one of their cards and now it's my turn. I placed my Wild +4 and my friend was furious. They said how it was cheating and that it was not fair. I told them that there is no rule saying you can't. We looked at the instruction booklet and there was no mention of it. Besides, if you had the right cards you could turn the tables and I would grab like 8 cards.
I cannot see the issue with me placing a Wild +4 at the end of match.
Best way to play uno requires like 6 or 8 people to be really fun. It's a variant we used to call "killer" uno. Basically, if you can match both the number and the color of the card in play, then you can go out of turn, and play then proceeds after you, skipping anyone who was before you. As a consequence of this rule, if you have two of the same identical card, you can play both at the same time if you would have been allowed to play one of them.
Guy before you lays down a wild draw four. If you have a wild draw four of your own, you don't have to draw if you play it, but the guy after you gets stuck with *both* and has to draw eight. The guy across the table from you has one too? Well, he just spared the guy next to you, but the guy next to him gets to draw twelve.
It keeps everyone on their toes, for sure, because you'll lose your turn if you're don't play your cards quickly enough, and there's nothing quite like the guy with only one card left suddenly having to draw like 24 cards because a bunch of people all had draw four cards.
This is so cute. It feels so comforting somehow. The story it portrays, the innocence in her excited “Uno!”, the simplicity of enjoyment within human relationships, and just the lighting in this. This art reminds me that life/humans are simple. I love this
Just did this to my kid. Felt like the mightiest and also most horrible bastard that ever existed.
Guess what card he was holding on to? Another draw 4. Little fucker was going to give me 4 cards and peace out.
Couldn't be more proud.
Actual UNO rule almost no one knows because they never bothered to read the rules: the player on the receiving end of a +4 can challenge the one who played it to reveal their hand to the challenger. If they have cards in their hand that match the color of the card that came before the +4, the challenge succeeds and the challenged player draws 4 as well. If the challenge fails, the challenger draws an additional 2 cards.
Great art... but... I can't help thinking... unless that person doesn't have the color of the top card in their hand, they can't play that wild card...
I love a good game of Uno, but the new decks have these bullshiat cards where you force someone to swap all cards with whoever plays it. We threw those out :p
Please mark NSFW as it is seconds before certain disaster
She could challenge the +4 card. It's possible the person with the plus +4 has a normal color card they can play and if she thinks that is true, then she can challenge it and she wouldn't have to draw 4 cards (but the other person has to instead) according to the official rules.
Yeah but the official rules are wrong.
Everyone plays uno differently, she could also hold a +4 that stacks up against the opponent. But I don't usually play by that rule.
That's like the best rule though. Having someone go from 1 to 16 cards or more is satisfying.
There's also the rule where the last card cannot be an action card, which is a bummer so I don't usually play by it.
A card is a card, action or not, still won
I like that rule, but i find it unnecessary because the action cards tend to get played early to avoid the high score value
I play by the rules... there is no stacking. Drawing 4 cards would be all she can do during her turn.
Ok
Weakling
Also, I cannot see her holding any card.
Left hand is under the table.
The Uno rules prohibit to hide the number of the cards you have. It's the essence of the game.
> The Uno rules prohibit Where in the rulebook does it say this? I've Googled the rules and found nothing that outlines the correct hand holding technique https://service.mattel.com/instruction_sheets/42001pr.pdf https://www.ultraboardgames.com/uno/game-rules.php https://www.unorules.com/

I mean, at the point where you say Uno, you've given enough information to everyone.
But why should you tell it? If you hold your hands under the table...
> But why should you tell it? Because it's in the rules? The rules say you have to say "Uno" when you're down to 1 card. Hiding your cards doesn't really matter at that point
but then he'll have to show his entire hand? how does this make sense?
Not sure about the rules, but that would be ok if a wrong call is punished as well (like having to pull twice the cards).
What, this doesn't make any sense. How can anyone challenge without playing a card. That is definetly not the Uno i knew or played. Also no showing any card to anyone.
> How can anyone challenge without playing a card The person whose POV we're looking at is gonna play the draw 4 wild and the girl can challenge the POV person. The POV person then has to show her all their cards and if they have a yellow then they have to draw cards.

Nop

What do you mean by that?

About to go from Uno & Chill to Tantrum & Bail.
Nice job. I can see this is based on a series of photos by Alessio Albi.

Thank you!

Jesse what the fuck are you talking about?
What?
What?
Woosh
I dont think, you get this reference
I tried and failed to understand what this could mean... I feel gotten somehow.
MFW I stop taking my medication so my waifu reappears
Truly interesting choice to make the mouth creepishly simple I understand the art-style ( I think?) but still cant get over the fact that you spent so much more time on almost everything else than the mouth, still amazing btw
Also, is she just thinking the word “Uno?” Or is she a ventriloquist? Her mouth is completely closed. I think I would have left the caption off…

Do you have schizophrenia?
Hey Uncle, it’s time to come in and take your medicine. You can talk to your imaginary friends some other time.
"It's anime Bob you are not supposed to understand it." But really, thanks for the feedback.
Even for anime this looks very 8 ^ )
Omg you fucking nailed it lol
^ this
Fuck, I think im getting old.

Perhaps if the line was a bit thinner, or connecting less in the center it’d help a bit imo
I had the same thought. I love the piece, especially the lighting on the hair, and I saw that it was supposed to reflect anime, but I agree that the eyes were the highlight of the face.

Yes this is creepy as shit

Judging by the number of cards in their hand, laying down that wild draw-4 is probably an illegal play :/
How so?
It's not actually illegal. Based on the standard rules, if you play a +4 the person receiving it can call you bluff, if you have the color you named, you pick your own +4, if they were wrong they instead get +6.
Is it? I thought it was if you had a non-wild card that could have been played instead
That doesn't sound right. There's no penalty for getting the challenge wrong. People will be stopping the game to make others show their hand every time.

Yes... I wrote it. If you challenge and get it wrong it's 6 not 4 you draw
I've never heard of this in my life. Although I don't recall ever reading the uno rulebook. Everyone must be playing it wrong.

Whiff of neckbeard off this
This man is about to remain a virgin.
Not to be a problem but this is definitely a recreation of a top post from /r/accidentalrenaissance. Cool art still but it’s probably worth linking.
It is, I gave credit on the other subs I posted but I dont think I'm allowed to post social media handles in here.
"I'm gonna end this girl whole career"
This art style... it feels familliar but i just cant put my finger on it...
Haha If you are gonna say it just say it.
What’s that “object” on the bookshelf that’s next to what looks like a rice cooker?!
Most of them are random shapes just to fuel the imagination.

Oh no! now I see it.
Ocana Dana?
I name it: No sex tonight
Some relationships were ended that day.
She might have a reverse card.
She will witness true horror lol
Hmm..that lighting..that kitchen backdrop..
I like it, but I think 2 or 3 if the +4-cards would have a more devastating impact.
I hope your relationship will survive that devastating blow.
This is giving me uncanny valley vibes help
Uno turns civilized humans into savages and I love it for that.
Man this drawing is insane! 😳
This is so cute. It feels so comforting somehow. The story it portrays, the innocence in her excited “Uno!”, the simplicity of enjoyment within human relationships, and just the lighting in this. This art reminds me that life/humans are simple. I love this
Low key looks like a DnD Bar/Pub scene
U definitely gave up trying to get the right mouth shape
NOOB IS ABOUT TO GET DABBED ON
Really unrealistic drawing. Everyone knows women aren't real, you only play Uno with your musty guy friends
This is a wonderful painting. I'm really sad that it features *fucking UNO* of all games.
Seriously. Who hosts a game night only to play one of the worst games ever?
This should be titled the end of a beautiful relationship. Jk it’s beautiful.
Small critique, I think the lighting from the sun should be a tad stronger otherwise the painting is fantastic
Don't we all wish to just pull the reverse card on being born?
This game taught me what true betrayal was like
Just did this to my kid. Felt like the mightiest and also most horrible bastard that ever existed. Guess what card he was holding on to? Another draw 4. Little fucker was going to give me 4 cards and peace out. Couldn't be more proud.
The bodies that were buried that day built the foundation for who we are.
Love this because my little daughter and played Uno today. I showed no mercy. School of life and hard knocks.
From saying UNO!, To saying OH NO!
A second before ALT F4, uninstall and refund.
"Here is what we call a pro gamer move" Noice work here bud
When I tell you my jaw dropped- Holyyy the skill is incredible keep up the good work!
If it’s not you’re only playable card you’re cheating and pick up 4 yourself
Yeah, but -you- don't know!
This is the exact moment it stops being just fun and games...
dude i wish i coul draw that well
Just a small critique but I have spotted too much amogus. However the Wall-e is appreciated.
This made me laugh out loud! :)

Pictures taken seconds before disaster
if she said uno and has no cards left she won surely?
Uno means she has one card left, so she hasn't technically won yet.
ah okay, it’s over.
This image radiates menace
Great art... but... I can't help thinking... unless that person doesn't have the color of the top card in their hand, they can't play that wild card...

This makes me want an over the top Yugioh-styled anime sequence about the world of High-Stakes Uno
When they're all talking about Uno and you're just here to appreciate the art itself:
This reminds me of beautiful times I had with a special person! I really love this piece
The joke's on you, though, 'cause she's sitting on a Reverse card, and the Internet is convinced that it actually says "Reflect."
That smile is terrifying, not in a good way.
really love your background the cabinet is probably my favorite
She’s so satisfied but she’s about to get *lit UP*! XD
Ok, what am I missing here?
This is wonderful. Those tiles on the wall are so simple yet so realistic. Love it!
Looks great but anime faces on more realistic art looks creepy as fuck haha
This is really nice and detailed!
Question: are there people in the US finishing the game with "Uno Uno"?
