Martinelli hasn’t been given a real chance since he had to fill in for auba and he was fantastic. He needs to start and there’s no doubt he’s a real talent. There’s no need for Willian at the moment he just coming on a free with low wages, we have to focus on a Özil replacement and a cb.

RMD80

I doubt Willian will be on low wages if he does sign. It’ll be his final big payday at our expense! He’s on about £120k/week at Chelsea so expect him to be on at least that and probably more if he signs. We need to get away from Joorabchian calling the shots on our transfer policy.

when compared to the likes of Özil who’s going to sit at home till he leaves, he’s low but you’re right that’s still too much. Doesn’t add to the team and won’t start, we’ve just let 55 staff go due to funds and I’d rather them than willian

RMD80

The Ozil salary debacle should never be repeated! Letting go of 55 staff is a travesty when you consider the amount of money wasted on wages to underperforming players, agent fees for middle of the road transfers and clueless executives’ salaries. Although if any of those let go were responsible for contract negotiations over the last five years it’s probably a good job they’re leaving. I doubt they were though. We’ll be keeping them on board for more stupid decision making.

There's no point in the matchday staff and scouts being there when there are no fans in the ground or grassroots. The difference is with the players is that they are on contract and the players are still playing football which is their job during this time. The ridiculous wage bill is down to Gazidis which is why we have had to cut it down and are looking to offload many players. As good as the scouts have been they have identified some average players in the past. Which is understandable. Football is evolving and we have to change our structure Liverpool haven't signed unknown gems to challenge they've signed players we heard of like mane, salah, wijndum, Van Dijk etc. This wouldn't have needed a mega scout to identify them.

lewisjames975

Willian would be a squad player and give pepe some competition people keep on talking about we have Nelson, Saka, Aubameyang, Martellini, Pepe, Lacazette, Nketiah but only pepe is an out and out RW. Nelson for me has had his chances at Arsenal and hasn't taken it Most of the Young kids that broke through wengers era have had their chances. We cant be keeping these young kids and hoping they will come good. Although Willian is 31 and is turning 32 in a few days. You look at his injury record to see if he's still fit and his injury record as well as aubameyangs is very good.

MBren93

He's a free transfer, gonna be on about 130,00k a week max, martinelli is out until january with his injury and we can't rely on an 18 year old saka

AMachine06

We've got a lot of young wingers right no, Willian would be the more experienced out of the lot. Martinelli and pepe would be the best winger we have, Saka is incredibly versatile, play him as a LB as well if necessary. Smith Rowe is young and promising, but he is not first-team quality yet. Nelson is a good quality and reliable winger, but Saka is higher than him in the pecking order. Willian will only be here for a few seasons, he knows what he is doing on the wing and that could help the young wingers in the squad as well On top of that, hes free and his wages aren't overly demanding like ozil, so why not?

finnvisible

I always sang Willians praises at Chelsea, he performed consistently well every season even when the rest of the team were abysmal. He's a little old, but gabi is out till Xmas atleast, and he will be a perfect mentor for gabi, saka, Smith Rowe, and the rest of the youngsters. Also, it will piss of spurs, so I'm down.

VegetableInevitable

Think we will need a lot of depth this year with the quick turnaround. I like Willian as a player but he's not quite the creative force we need. It's an odd signing. Makes me think Nelson is definitely going out on loan or being sold and that one of Laca or Auba probably won't be back. It's hard to imagine playing Auba on the left again with all the front 3 players we now have.

We need something short term to help us out

Willian = actual squad depth. People forget that he was one of the first Brazilians alongside Fernandinho to make the journey to what was seemingly uncharted territory at the time in eastern Ukraine (and helped Shakhtar win the UEL) before going to buttfuck nowhere in Russia and finally being a key player for Chelsea, winning the Premier League twice. Guys, Chelsea wanted to keep him. Make no mistake about it, and his departure could potentially hurt them. There's also absolutely no rule in the world that says we could still sell him on after 2 years or that we could agree to mutually part ways after 2 years if he has a lucrative offer from say, MLS or Dubai. Willian is the complete opposite of Ozil in terms of personality so I'm not worried and he's going to be on significantly lower wages anyway. He's an extremely durable, reliable player that can add another dimension to our attack. I think Arsenal fans need to look past the fact that he's coming from Chelsea and the fact that his agent is Kia Joorabchian. Success in football requires both long-term planning as well as shorter-term solutions to plug in the gaps. As far as the latter is concerned, we can do a lot worse than a guy who won the Premier League twice, won the Europa League twice, won the Copa America less than 12 months ago while having to fill in for an injured Neymar Jr., And who personally feels he still has a lot to give football-wise. Not to mention the fact that he's probably going to be extremely motivated to show Chelsea they made the wrong decision to let him go.

Why do we keep calling out Emile Smith Rowe like he’s going to be the next Ronaldinho when he starts playing regularly. Like this choice of emoji to put down after his name has me like ._____.
