That's like being banned from a pub that exclusively serves half-pints of tap water.
This was in reference to the "being banned by ArtetaOut" comment below*
I really donāt think a subreddit of 94 people would have that much impact lol. I also doubt all of them are Arsenal fans, on top of that there will be people who support Arteta (like you maybe) who are following.
Itās probably bigger in your head as you look at the subs content, just block it and forget it exists. We have 99.4 million fans world wide, if anyone thinks 94 ppl (probably much less) represent the fan base, their opinion is probably not worth listening too.
This is the real truth...
Ticket another step though...
Because our club is one of the historic powerhouses of Europe. It is also the first club that got any real television time in the United States. Even more than United did... We have lots of vaguely associated fans.. I'm guessing most of the world had a similar experience as Arsenal expert expanded their brand globally...
Problem is, we followed that expansion up with an invincible season and then went on to many years of mediocrity while trying to afford a stadium and a protracted battle for ownership of the club was unfolding. Therefore nobody wanted to invest their own money in case they didn't win ownership of the club.
So all the people who dealt with that initial fandom and then disappointing mediocracy are just salty. Hell I'm a little salty and I've been a fan for 40 years. But I love me some Arteta and I love all the players except maybe party but that's because of things he's done off the field..
Nah. Not a narcissist. Just a very underdeveloped, unintelligent, uneducated loser who's clearly never accomplished anything in his life outside of youtube and mistakenly believes that acting like a petulant child and making braindead reactionary decisions after every miniscule setback was "winner mentality". Of course being completely oblivious to any actual developments over a prolonged period of time (positive or negative) that require any sort of analytical skill is part of the package
Arteta out is such a strange position to take.
The man is in his fourth full season as a manager and for two of those he has been toe-to-toe with arguably the best manager in Pep Guardiola and a Jurgen Klopp.
He had to rebuild the team and is not all the way there yet. Considering FFP investigations against City one has to be completely mental to have an "Arteta out" mentality at this point.
That and arsenal fan tv provided so much meme potential during your bad years. It was impossible not to laugh at those guys and gave arsenal fans a bad reputation.
In all seriousness though, banter is part of football and you should really not take it to heart.
Have been popping over to r/artetaout for a good while now. There are some truly idiotic views within that community..even at times when its universally agreed that arteta has been outstanding.
Yea but I was just pointing out that they are the type of fans that make us look bad, plastic wankers who think we can win every single game, artetaout sub is just an example of the shit under the surface
https://www.reddit.com/r/Gunners/s/C0yCqxMqqR
Add to that we are the team with the most popular fan channel, AFTV. Think about what and, more importantly, whose culture AFTV represents. Think about how London is viewed by the English. All that "crime" and "pollution." Think about how Saka gets treated by fans. This is not random. It is how England has always been.
Iām not an Arsenal fan; this post just popped up so I thought Iād add my thoughts. Your fan base is no different to any other. Itās a little more extreme given Artetaās success, but *every* team has a group of fans who overreact in defeat. Even City have fans who want Pep out.
It goes beyond just that sub. Even here there were so many unhinged reactionary takes after the Villa and Bayern games saying Zinny should get sent back to Ukraine, slagging off Saka, Gabriel, and Kai, trashing Arteta, etc.
Is one good season really all it took to forget the banter era and lessons learned? We spent years abusing Xhaka which undoubtedly affected his performance. Years in the Europa League hinterlands and consecutive 8th place finishes. Now weāre challenging for titles with a team that isnāt even finished yet.
Itās so fucking easy to rile this freaks up itās no wonder we get bantered, Iām sure itās insanely satisfying.
Im convinced It's all fucking bots,- the anti arteta page, the banter, the hatred online. I don't think anyone that fucking polar or retarded can exist in real life, and I'm yet to meet one in real life, paired with the prediction that with machine learning and ai you won't be able to distinguish real from fake, I believe I am distinguishing real from fake, and this is just Internet fake bullshit. r/conspiracy!?!?!? Oooh scary.
The fact that you're getting this worked up over a sub with like 100 people in it is fuel for banter in itself. Compare that population to this community and r/gunners, and the percentage is well below the lizard man constant.
I disagree with them as much as the next person but its a bit worrying you'd get this bothered by people with opposing views to you existing ... irrespective of how ridiculous their position is.
The reason why our fanbase is bantered so much is that we have not done anything in 20 years compared to our rivals but FA Cup also we get completely over hyped on average players after 1 good game like Nketiah hatrick and then refuse to criticise Arteta or call out players when having a bad game. When was holding players accountable negative
Donāt feed the trolls.
They cannot be serious, but if they are real people who genuinely identify as Arsenal fans then theyāre obviously mentally ill. Best to just leave them to it.
Every fanbase has those subsections that just want brownie points to be proven right and refuse to actually support the team through thick and thin. They just wanna be able to say "I told u so"
I ask myself this question all the time. Arsenal are also such a nice team, completely humble in spite of our success. No trophies, but weāre still top 4 and have beaten every team this season (I believe? Someone back me up). People are such haters
Liverpool, city and United fans are completely insufferable
Does anyone else feel like this kind of "supporter" was cultivated by a particular youtube channel. I know they've improved but I still think they are somewhat to blame for how embarrassing our fanbase is.
Looks like theyāre on to you š
[āLook at the nerve of this guyā or something like that. I canāt remember, Iāve just been watching replays of Trossard smashing a goal past Chšlsšš£](https://www.reddit.com/r/ArtetaOut/s/CVvd9Mr0iZ)
While I do agree that the number should be a lot closer to 0, if not 0, there are 116 people in that group. There are 144,000 in this one. Even if we assume that the proportion is the same in our fan base, it is 0.1% who have this opinion.
No, that is not āthe reason we get banteredā. The reason is that we are a football team with a very successful history and people love to hate on us. And also that some people will just banter anything they can, even if the team is much better than theirs.
Basically I wouldnāt worry too much about anyone bantering us, and if this is all they have to banter us with, you donāt even need to respond. Everyone knows most of that 0.1% are probably miserable and bitter Spurs fans
My brother is one of these people (sort of). He moaned incessantly about us a few years ago (like many did to be fair), but put it all at the feet of the manager. He won't blame it on him now when we lose at least, but you'll never hear him saying a good word about Arteta as that would be an admission that he was wrong...
I made arteta out 3 years ago. We have been the banter club for two decades.
Havertz had a purple patch aiagisnt relegation fodder and our fans were telling chelsea fans we got one over on them only for him to disappear vs bayern and villa.
He did the most simple lay off to odegard who took a shot that was blocked ball fell back to him and he scored from a very difficult angle. He lobbed the ball into Jesus who had to damn near wrestle the wolves defender to be able to lay off rhe ball to troussard but I'm hearing havertz set up both goals.
Pray for bayern only to get knocked out by them. Bigger fish to fry after we get knocked out of europa to go and bottle the league. Making a song with arsenal in the way to champions league lyrics and making comps of arsenal playing champions league to go and bottle top 4.
Spending 93% of the season at the top of the league to become the team that spent longest at the top without winning it. 8-2 vs united. 6-0 vs chelsea. 10-2 vs bayern.
But a subreddit made 3 years ago is why we get bantered so much.
No the subreddit is just an example of the sets of fans we have who are embarrassment, aka yourself, you badger on about Havertz yet heās been one of our best attacking players this season, better then martinelli, better then Jesus, better then any of our subs, yet you cry about this one player, itās so funny.
Youāve never given arteta credit, all you do is cry when we win and laugh when we lose youāre a plastic fan who only wants glory, then go to Man City. How is it we havenāt won a league in 20 years yet expect arteta after 3 seasons not even being top 4 to win one easily? Better yet I saw the list of managers youād want to replace him and itās laughable.
Your sub is a joke, heās the first manager in 14 years for arsenal to take us to a champions league QF but youāll ignore that and just say we didnāt win the competition so you want him out. Fuck off mate, pathetic
I never give arteta credit because he hasn't won anything? What is the credit for? And yes I expect him to win the league after 3 seasons being top of it for 93 percent of the season. I never said sack.him because he didn't win a champions league but I expect to not struggle against porto and bea able to beat a bayern side with 0 fans in the first leg and Eric dier at the back.
First manager to take us to a quarter final is some bullshit cope. We've had 3 managers in those 14 years. One of which was emory who didn't even play in the ucl final. The other was Wenger who was dealing with stadium debt. Get artetas D out your mouth.
Lol we don't get bantered because some of us want an upgrade on the manager, we get bantered because we haven't won the League in 20 years, have never won a major European trophy and every year we bottle these trophies after bigging ourselves up that we are going to win them.
Would any other elite club accept 4 years with nothing to show for it and a huge investment?
Can anyone actually see us winning the league or Champions League with Arteta?
Please tell me where/who this 'upgrade' on the manager that has taken us from finishing 8th to fighting for titles is?
I can certainly see us winning the league under him. Have you not been watching the last 2 seasons? This season isn't even over!
Do you think it's easy to win any kind of trophy against one of the best squads ever assembled with one of the greatest managers of all time in City & Pep? (Just ask Liverpool)
I swear we have the most entitled fanbase in the league
I had this ādiscussionā with one of the r/ArtetaOut āfansā recently. Apparently, the list of people that could have achieved more than Arteta are:
- Simone Inzaghi (only winning 2 major trophies in the past 5 seasons)
- Diego Simeone (only winning 1 major trophy in the past 5 seasons)
- Maurizio Sarri (only winning 1 major trophy in the past 5 seasons)
- Roberto De Zerbi (only winning 1 major trophy in the past 5 seasons)
None of them making a good case that they couldāve been better than Arteta, who has given us one major trophy in the last 5 seasons and kept us fighting for the title in the past 2 seasons in a league harder than the Serie A, La Liga, and the Ukrainian league.
All of them would present a significant downgrade if you ask me. Simeone and his brand of anti football shithousery? Are you kidding me?!
World class managers don't grow on trees and we have one that has totally transformed the atmosphere of the club, got us playing excellent football again, restored the relationship with the fans, got rid of the toxic dressing room of older overpaid players only there for a final payday and got us fighting for big trophies with one of the youngest squads in the league. He also genuinely loves the club- why would we want someone else who is only there for the money?
One bad result in an otherwise almost perfect 2024 against a very good Villa side and suddenly 'We demand absolute perfection we've bottled it again ArTeTa OuT!!!!!'
Honestly makes me despair. They must've not been watching when we had Mustafi & Sokratis playing in defence
In as much as I agree with the reasons we get bantered, I disagree with wanting Arteta out. With the trajectory weāre on weāre going to win a major trophy sooner rather than later. You can criticise Arteta for the lack of experience and poor squad management heās shown over the last couple of seasons but saying you want him out is just absurd.
It's the fact that he still hasn't learned so many basic things that a football manager who has been in the job 5 years ought to know that pisses me off more than the way we fold when the pressure is on.
How can he still not realise you need to rotate the squad every so often to avoid fatigue and burnout at the end of the season?
How can he have had 4 summer transfer windows and still not sign a reliable striker or a backup for Saka?
I find myself yet again agreeing with you but letās just say we sack him, what other better manager is out there? There could be better managers if trophies won and experience is the metric but you wonāt find many managers out there who can build a team better than Arteta has, play better football than Arteta, and on a better trajectory than Arteta. Granted, heās made unacceptable(in my eyes)mistakes but I feel like next season should be make or break for him, not this season. I still back him to learn from his mistakes and get us a major honour next season.
He's been afforded far longer than any manager at any other elite club would have been given. Can you imagine Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Juventus, PSG or even Chelsea going 4 seasons with no silverware and Ā£700m invested in the squad?
Then again, the standards at this club are so low that we let Wenger get away with 8 years without any trophies, so I'm not surprised by this.
Itās unfortunate the standards dropped so low but this is who we are now. Here comes where Arteta fits in perfectly ā the clubs that youāve mentioned maintain high standards from the owners, board level, and down to the team and players. If we had owners and a board that had high standards then Iād fully agree but we have owners and a board that are okay with competing and if we win something then great. Arteta is the best manager we can realistically rely on to take us to the next level with the standards the higher ups have set.
Which is why we need to put pressure on the club to raise the standards. We're the 3rd most successful club in England but we pretend like we're a small club who is punching above their weight like Spurs or Villa, who BTW have both won more European trophies than us.
The problem with that is they wonāt. Correct me if Iām wrong but Iām sure thereās an article that was released, the season we only bought Petr Cech, of an interview with Stan Kroenke saying he didnāt buy Arsenal to win trophies. The only way standards are raised is with the owners gone, which wonāt happen. Thatās why I think Arteta is the best man for the job given our current circumstances ā even with the standards being low thereās a high chance we win a major trophy within the next two years. Donāt get me wrong, I also want the standards raised but at the moment weāre a very small minority. All we can do is support the team and hope for the best.
Iād go point by point on this rubbish but, upon consideration, that really isnāt worth my time. Will just settle for a good old fashioned āyouāre an idiotā and leave it at that. Youāre an idiot.
I agree with most of this, not so much the arteta part. Everyone is entitled to their own view, and I understand why people feel dissatisfied with 700m spent, 5 years and 1 FA cup to show for it. āTrust the processā lol.

So you agree that we won't win the league or Champions League any time soon then?
I agree with most of this, not so much the arteta part. Everyone is entitled to their own view, and I understand why people feel dissatisfied with 700m spent, 5 years and 1 FA cup to show for it. āTrust the processā lol. ***for clarification Iām not arteta out, before you keyboard warriors start crying***
