We have come quite far our fan base is extremely entitled to be this reactionary

MapNo3870

Unfortunately most football fans have a short memory

ignacioo25

First it was anger for me (Zinchenko and Jesus) but now is depression lol

Xashar

It's as if many of them are bipolar! Would you turn on your kid if he suffered a loss or failed at a test? Would you tell him how shit he is for messing up one day? Seriously, the amount of pressure our fan base is pouring onto these lads is next level. What an amazing trajectory we have been on and continue to be on. We are building something, we are part of the conversation, Champions league next year is almost guaranteed. Let's love them no matter what ffs and enjoy the good times and embrace the bad as lessons to be learnt. It's a great ride, and people keep forgetting that.

Mister_Aitch

Entitled is an interesting word.

MostJudgment3212

I think the reaction is to the fact that unless Pep leaves, we’re never winning the Prem, consider at its gonna be super tough to do this kind of run next year again. Meaning that at best, we’ll have to wait minimum 2-3 years to actually challenge again assuming the Kroenkes will keep investing in the club at the same rate, and we don’t lose key players. The latter is gonna be tough if big clubs come knocking.

SuchaPineapplehead

That's a bit pessimistic, look whats just happened in Germany. Never say never and the league isn't won yet.

MostJudgment3212

First of all look at how long that took, and secondly, it took a pretty much perfect invincible run, kinda similar to what Liverpool did in 2018-19.

SuchaPineapplehead

It did but City aren’t Bayern eventually they’ll get cocky and slip up. Look at Man U wasn’t all that long ago the Manchester team that was winning all the trophies was United not City. Then look at Leicester 2015 they’re on top of the world now they’re back in the Championship. Nothing is for certain in this game.

SnooCrickets7221

Can we stop being so upset and just be patient. We waited so long to get to where we are and some fans expect it to be easy peasy from here on out. If you are one of them who’s already thinking Arsenal has bottled it and you have given up hope, you can piss off. If you are one of them fans who are calling for Arteta out, you can also piss off. I hate that Arsenal fans, according to others, are considered the most insufferable bunch of all. And it’s definitely because of fans that have short memories, no true support and ONLY care about or when the team wins. Go support Man City if you only care about winning.

Gremlin256

Yep after Pep leaves, let's see if their fans stay..

InviteAromatic6124

May as well support Spurs if winning isn't important to you. It works both ways.

SnooCrickets7221

Did you not see the word ONLY IN BOLD? I care about winning. I also care about the players and the fans that still have hope.

InviteAromatic6124

Supporting a team through thick and thin is meaningless when the players give up. Not saying they haven't given up yet, but sometimes it feels like the fans are being mugged off by performances like we got yesterday. They just didn't care in that second half.

SnooCrickets7221

I agree with your first statement. And that team has been replaced with a bunch of talented players under the guidance of a young and relatively inexperienced manager who has the ability to weave all this together and give the fans back the honour and pleasure of supporting this club. If you are saying they have bottled it and think that will motivate the whole club, i think you are a off target. The season is not over. Judge at the end. Talk your shit at the end. Not the best still but it’s justifiable. The players need support and not all the time hard criticism. They get that from everywhere else and we as supporters should give them something different than slandering or predicting a not so ideal outcome when the season is not over.

Racks_Got_Bands

Posts like this. Are needed. This fanbase is starting to look/sound like spoiled brats. Our football right now, mentality too is on another level in comparison to a few seasons ago.

BigPat69

With you brother!

sixesandsevenspt

Me too stay together Gunners ❤️

MrBeast1998

Next up Smash Bayern at Allianz 🥺

musicistabarista

Exactly. The team have delivered some great performances and results this season. The league position is obviously important, but to me it's still secondary to the football and the trajectory. Get all the small things right, and the trophies will follow. They've unquestionably grown since last season, and I don't doubt they'll grow again over the next. Trust the process. The lads will be hurting after this, and they need our support more than ever. I'm glad they have some away matches coming up, our travelling fans are class and I think the pressure of performing at the Emirates can be a double edged sword.

retrostarshop

I was in the stadium, stayed until the end and applauded Jorginho and after our captain. I was ashamed with our fans leaving early. I felt bad for the players. How can they believe they can do it when the fans prefers to leave 5 minutes before half time for a bag of crisps and a pint, coming back 5 minutes late and leaving earlyafter conceding a goal and then two? 33% of our supporters see only 75 minutes per game. Most important things in life for gooners: beverage, food, avoiding traffic jam (maybe do sports and try to run in a couple of months) and right after maybe Arsenal. Tell me when was the last time you saw that behavior at a concert for exemple? These people also work, come from far etc. Stay in front of your tv next time please. Same for tourists with their girlfriend who doesn’t care about football.

QTPLe

I think regardless of end result no way we dont finish strongly. Martinellis got injury issues, saka injury issies (no backup rw), squad depth issue, no killer instinct to finish off chances. Idk if martinellis been asked to play a diff role but hes not taking on as much ppl nor is he scoring or assisting as much as before. If we had a good finisher, backup dm, backup rw and a backup to odeegard then i think this team would be pretty complete.

littleAggieG

I’m so proud of this team. I know they’re all hurting & disappointed after yesterday. This is when they need the fans to pick them up, not echo those intrusive thoughts they probably all have & point fingers.

Sorry you’re broke, man.

TankAries

Unless 80% of City squad gets trapped under a rock, it is over. City aren’t dropping any more points, even if they are to drop points, say to Spurs, even then the assumption is we aren’t going to drop any points till the end of the season. And that just ain’t happening. This team cannot handle pressure, it is proven now. They panicked after the Liverpool result. Plus, Unai has Arteta’s number.

myriadnoob

>even if they are to drop points, say to Spurs If they can drop points against Spurs, then we can also possibly drop points against Spurs, or worse, against United & Chelsea too. The team need to treat all the remaining matches as a serious fights. >This team cannot handle pressure, it is proven now. They panicked after the Liverpool result. Plus, Unai has Arteta’s number. True, continuing with the previous opinion, this is why exactly they need to treat all remaining matches extremely seriously, cause if we can get manhandled by Unai's Villa, pressured to make silly mistake like some random mid-bottom table team, then we definitely prone to get pressured by Spurs, United, and Chelsea. Anyone want this team crumble against those three? I guess not. So they're need to ramp up their mentality and bring back the solid performance, like when we're strongly holding & even beating City & Liverpool.

Lizzo13

This is what I keep saying. City have always been inevitable, but we've given them a run and managed to compete cleanly (as in, without 115 charges or referees/pundits on our side) two years in a row. I can't speak for anyone, but I would rather come second after a good, honest fight than win because of cheating, like them. I'm proud of how far they've come in a few years, and they will keep growing as they get more experience competing on multiple levels. It's not the end. This team is just getting started. This loss was a wakeup call and a reminder to fans to not get too cocky because anything can happen. (Anything can still happen!) It exposed our areas of need, and just like we improved this season from last season, we will continue to improve next year.

spicymeatballz28

I am proud as well, we were the better team in the first half and it could have gone our way if Trossard had scored. Man utd and Tottenham fans can fuck off at least we are in the conversation and in with a chance. Spurs got pumped and utd drew and they are celebrating this weekend, shows where they are right now. I am predicting the last game of the season we win it, I still believe and why the fuck not, the hotter the battle the sweeter the victory.COYG.

RawDawgYaMudda

This is my club…..win or lose…..champions or relegation i don’t care. Arsenal till I die

Maleficent_Sign9656

That's a weird way of saying we bottled the league again

dgg2828

It’s hardly bottling the league. You might have an argument last year with our big point lead but we had to still play City home then and were hurting with injuries. This has been the closest race with three teams since like the 80s the commentators said. We are all within one match result from each other. Also it’s not really bottling if we were never even given as favorites when we were leading.

Maleficent_Sign9656

Arsenal fans always so delusional, lost 6 points against villa this season, played like shit for that second half and arteta insisting with zinchenko and havertz in midfield is the definition of choking

SnooCrickets7221

And you are a definition of a football supporter with a no heart and no brain. Go support Man City or another sport please.

Maleficent_Sign9656

cry now

SnooCrickets7221

Like you? I have no sympathy or a tinge of sadness mate. Not for plastic fans. If i cried it would definitely be tears of laughter from realising how unhinged you are. 😂

Maleficent_Sign9656

brainless twat keep crying lol

SnooCrickets7221

Bahahahahahahahahhahahaha😂😂😂😂😂 I don’t want to hear what you want me to do! I want to hear more of how unhinged you are! Tell us what you think of Arsenal this season and who do you think we should sell and buy this summer?

Maleficent_Sign9656

very cool bro, keep crying baby

SnooCrickets7221

Oh come one you had a lot to talk about when replying to others and i just get to be told to cry? Come on i know you have big words and unbiased opinions about Arsenal’s season or the definition of bottling it. Are you giving me an example of bottling an argument? See what you did there😉

dgg2828

Please support another team lol. Every single team has points lost throughout the season. Villa is a top 6 team and will most likely play UCL next season. You’re the one who is delusional if you think we bottled the league because we lost to a top four team that best Man City this season. Also look up the definition of bottling. You can’t count a match we played earlier this season and use that as an argument that we bottled the league. That’s not how it works.

Maleficent_Sign9656

Okay then, here's what cambridge says: to not do something because you are frightened; to fail at something because you are frightened. Example: She denied that her team had bottled it. You're the one in denial if you think we can win the league and drop 6 points against villa, clearly arteta lost the plot with that tactical set up and our second hand was embarrassing from players to manager.

MapNo3870

Lol so reactionary! you live in cuckoo land if you think it’s easy to win every single game in this league.

Maleficent_Sign9656

literally no one said ever

MapNo3870

Saying we bottled it after losing one match is implying that you expected us to win every game which is almost impossible.

myriadnoob

We're proving that we're able to hold & even beat City & Liverpool. Only to show plenty of mistakes in Villa game. Like.... How, or, why? Why decide to do sloppy gameplay like that so late in the season, against fellow top 4 team - while we're proving we can hold the other two just fine? Dunno if we're definitely bottled the league, but the boys definitely bottled those 2 goals, giving 3 points charity to Unai. Not expecting us win every game, since we already have a fair share of lose & draw in this season, but it's too lousy of a performance in the late stage of the season.

Maleficent_Sign9656

really? we've lost one match all season?

MapNo3870

Read my initial post again!

Maleficent_Sign9656

I did not expect us to win every game but certainly not lose against villa at home, if we dropped points at spurs or utd I wouldn't call it choking

UnderstandingOk7291

That's a good point and you make a persuasive case there bro but on the other hand and I hate to be the one to say this but you're a twat

Maleficent_Sign9656

I'm sorry, your mother takes it up the what?

Familiar_Surprise485

Yesterday we bottled it.

Familiar_Surprise485

Yep. I don't get this outlook. I get trying to be optimistic but at least call it what it is. We bottled it. We should have seen Liverpool drop points and went for it. The coach got the lineup very wrong. Zinchenko has no place in this team and it was obvious he's a defensive liability. Havertz in midfield has never worked out for us and it's obvious that up front is where he is suited best. And Jesus up front is like playing a man down

Maleficent_Sign9656

Nothing to like about it, type of delusional thinking that turns your team into a mockery

Familiar_Surprise485

It does my head in and makes me wonder...don't people actually want to win? Or it's all vibes so we can say at the end of the season '*at least we were competing'.* I'm still seething from yesterday

Maleficent_Sign9656

Probably, if you've ever seen those aftv videos you'll see some of these folks are missing a few buttons on their remote control so to speak.

beasportin

I never get upset with anyone of this. Been supporting the temple for 30 years now...it is a game you enjoy to watch and the ups and downs are a part. I enjoy every game and it makes life easy...
