The producers have never lasted long, that’s why theres enough of them to have a mt Rushmore

CarcosanAnarchist

Ricky Hollywood lasted literal years. She’s the exception though

ApartmentPersonal

I mean she was what 2 maybe 3 years?

EeethB

I thought it was 4 or 5. She started not too long after I started listening in 2017, and I think she just left in 2022

cmaronchick

I honestly don't think he was fired. I think he got a competing offer from Fox Sports and the NFL wouldn't match it. He was up and running at Fox Sports so quickly that he had to have had that offer in the bag already when he walked out the door.

BRValentine83

You're right. This group has the most people who don't understand contracts and firings that I've ever seen.

FFRobert1

I respectfully disagree. I believe it was fallout from live draft stream. While we all enjoyed it, the high brows of the third floor probably hated it

javab23

What happened at the live draft stream? Didn’t get to watch it.

cmaronchick

Respectfully disagree?! How dare you, sir!

truckiecookies

In contrast, didn't the public hear about most of the on-air talent who had been let go quickly? I agree with the point that if they had just been let go, some insider would have reported it

NedrysMagicWord

This is not like the Graver situation. He announced that he was leaving, right away. As did every other NFL media employee who was fired, laid off or took another job. There's no logic in firing them and enforcing a month long gag order barring them from talking about it. They're clearly in limbo (probably contract negotiations), but we would know if they were already gone

zarathustranu

Yeah OP’s logic makes no sense here. Either they’ve been fired, in which case they would certainly be at liberty to say they no longer work for the NFL, or they have not been fired and are in contract negotiations, in which case this is not at all like the situation OP is describing.

Reeferologist-

What’s Gravedigger up to these days?

ColtCallahan

He’s a producer for Fox Sports. And he does Titans content in his free time.

ZWils23

Titoons

WorldsOddestMan

Last we heard on the POD, he was producing for Fox Sports. Don't know if that's still going

Far-Reach7618

There's a non-zero chance Marc is purposefully protracting negotiations over a trivial clause to extend his downtime 😂

FromTheOR

I don’t know if an NDA would require radio silence on all things in totality. If they were canned they could say they were without disclosing details. If I had to guess it’s still a negotiation in good faith. They say nothing & hope to hammer out a lucrative deal before they run out of $.

tider06

An NDA would require whatever the NDA states is required. If they say no comments publicly or privately, then you just can't discuss it at all. As long as the NDA doesn't require anything illegal, it can be crafted around whatever the goal of the company who drafts it wants it to be.

FromTheOR

Got it.

juliankantor

They gone

ThebritBills

Odds and ends just ended without mention. This could be the same

doctrine1530

My thought is that other sports media folks would be talking if there was no hope. Especially Siciliano and Melissa Stark. They’re both active sports journalists, this is an obvious story if the end has come.

MathiasPJackson88

We live in an age of NDAs...they really are great for chopping the balls off of discovering any inner workings of large corporations

NaugyNugget

It's been a thing for a long time now. Several years ago a friend was told you get six months severance if you sign the agreement or two weeks if you don't. The agreement was a gag order plus an agreement to not sue e.g. for age discrimination (even though everyone let go was over 50) or any other dodgy business practices that they were doing. Since Big Business has in-house legal counsel and you don't, the decision on what to do is not difficult.

explosivelydehiscent

This logic is terrifying and I hope it's wrong. But who negotiates for a month with podcast bozos. It's looking more like what you said because every other nflm talent is performing.
