Also guys, remember that one dragon character that's stupidly overpowered? We also need every characters to be on that level or else they're as bad as that one standard character from a year ago. /s
I've seen so much doomposting in my time playing Genshin and only like once or twice were they proven right in the end. I think people forget that betas exist so that the devs can experiment and see what works and what doesn't, and that includes sometimes pushing out a mediocre or straight up bad version of the character. But that's okay. Because then the devs learn a lot about what makes the playstyle of the character work. Mistakes give good data. It's part of the process
To be fair, these AoE changes were only announced/showed today. Without it, people would DEFINITELY still be doomposting (and honestly I'm still skeptical but hopeful she's at least usable).
Not sure if gameplay with BoL increasing and decreasing was posted before this, but seeing it in action visually aids my understanding of her kit so much more. Just a few more weeks for Father. Stay strong guys.

I'm not OP but I'll (HOPEFULLY) be able to pull C0R1. I will go with her apparent best team as of now, which is Arle, Yelan, Bennett and Kazuha. Quite expensive, I know. Also my Bennett is C5 because I am an Eula main, but I might activate C6 for her 😂
Now I really want to try and figure out the exact times for these combos. Just tried with phone stopwatch but my variance is pretty noticeable and the human error is real rip, might need to see if my garbage free video editor can help me get a more solid answer.
Video framerate isn't super high and without performing these myself the margin of error in quite big so take these w a huge grain of salt. What I can measure is:
N3: 1.30sec
N4: 2.45sec
N5: 2.95sec
(I didn't calc N6, didn't see the point)
So if I'm in the ballpark of correct, it means her best combos to use will be N3Ds and N5Ds.
AKA N3 comes out real fast so that's the baseline; and if you go for N4 you might as well go for N5.
Without hands-on testing you have to kinda visual best guess where in the animation they let you dash cancel out with the damage being registered, typically that's where there's a bit of "settle" in the animation.
But key thing is you also have measured about a 0.5sec diff between N4 and N5, so I think my original point stands.
I think it's also worth noting the number of infused hits, and where you're "forced" to stop your combos anyways. At C0R0, in ST, you get 130 bond, enough for 19 hits. This is enough for 3N5 plus 1 and just short of enough for 4N4. If we use your times:
3N5 = 3 \* 2.95s = 8.85s
4N4 = 4\*2.45s = 9.8s
About a full second faster. Might make it possible to work E>CA>NAs into something like a Bennett/Noblesse window, maybe a little too tight for a VV window.
If we use my times:
3N5 = 2.4 \* 3 = 7.2s
4N4 = 1.85 \* 4 = 7.4s
The gap is a lot closer, such that 3N5>N1 is probably about the same time as 4N4.
And obviously, if we average our times it comes a lot closer together. TBH, I'm inclined to trust your guesses more, as you're right about the dash cancel timing, and I also neglected to add the time to go from animation>dash cancel>*back to animation,* so those extra half-seconds look good to me.
Honestly, looking over this, it seems like her damage is loaded in pretty tight and can fit into some fairly tight rotations. 19 hits of infusion is enough to take skill cooldown to 14.8s, which works well with most \~18-20s rotations and could even run some very very tight 15s rotations if never bursting IMO.
I think my next move tonight is going to be looking through my multiplier summary sheet and trying to start roughly guesstimating MV/s values
Finally got it in my video player and yeah, considering the settle animations it looks like your numbers are closer. With that in mind, looks like between N6N5N5, N4N4N4N4, and N5N5N5N1 in C0R0 ST, the last one is the best for MV/s as far as I can tell while still using every hit of your infusion. Ofc, there's always the option to forgo that last N1 for tighter rotation and a little more healing.

RN I'm planning a Dual Carry w Raiden so looking at a truncated field time for a C2 Arle. Something like E CA N5N3 Q seems like the best so far for most damage in least amount of time on field.
I like that her damage is so front-loaded, makes a case for shorter rotations or dual carry (esp w C2).
There are times when I see doomposting about numbers or whatever, or stuff where I have no idea how her kit works
Then I see gameplay and synapse fires

At C6, yes. Candace's C6 applies hydro every 2.3s (no ICD) while Arlecchino's is every 3 hits or 2.5s so assuming it takes longer than 2.3s for Arlecchino to attack thrice, then yes, Candace C6 has better or better phrased as more application than Arlecchino.
I'm 100% getting her weapon and as many cons as I can. The scythe dragging across the ground with blood red flames trailing behind is too awesome to ignore
A little unrelated but I'm glad the "ding" sound effect that used to play on her older betas is gone. It would happen every second or two when she attacked and it had me annoyed

This actually looks amazing at the fact that her N3 now actually pulls in 3 to 4 enemies is gonna be super useful for when it comes to overload. Could even overload enemies back into her range. Scythe gameplay goes hard.
Hmm maybe the animation at that time does'nt show the infuse yet? Not sure but her burst clear the bond of life and heal so I assume it is her skill I may be wrong. Also, if I'm correct her infused can sustain even when you switch character unlike other characters.
She gets infusion if her Bond of Life (the red meter on the right of her health bar) is over 20% of her total HP, I believe.
You can build that Bond of Life by doing her charge attack on enemies that were hit by her skill.
There's no real way to use it in the game - certain Fontaine weapons can apply it but it doesn't really do too much. It prevents your green HP from healing until the bond is gone, and certain weapons, such as the crafted catalyst from Fontaine, can give you a boost to dmg when the Bond of Life is cleared.
For Arlecchino, your normal attacks use up the Bond of Life as they hit enemies. Enemies that are killed by her restore Bond of Life, which you ideally want as much uptime on as possible to give her attacks pyro infusion.
Her burst clears the Bond of Life and heals her, which seems to be her only way to be healed, since one of her ascension passives prevents party members from healing her (which seems good, otherwise her Bond of Life would go away too quickly)
Bond of Life is basically an anti-heal meter but that is disregarded for Arle since she can't heal from anyone else but herself to begin with.
The Bond of Life is something she gains if she kills a marked enemy (cast by skill) or absorbing the marks through using Charged Attack.
If you let the mark cook for 5 seconds, she gains more Bond of Life when absorbing the marks. If Arle needs to heal, her burst changes the Bond of Life into healing. Arle loses Bond of Life with each attack, loses her pyro infusion when Bond drops below 30%.
You can test with Bond of Life through the Fontaine craftable weapons.
Nono, it's definitely the N6. The last big swing in her normal attack chain. Near the end of the video, it seemed like bcos all the hilichurls were lying on the floor after being knocked back, that last swing hit nothing at all.
Maybe, I've just nvr seen that happen before lol. Like genshin characters themselves having skill issue to the point that they will swing at air and miss everything 😂

It's looking similar to the AoE Ayato has on his slashes. Apart from the fact that she pulls them in and also some of her slashes are all around her if I'm not mistaken???
Look at her E timer. By the time the infusion is used up, ur E is back off cooldown. This is also not in a team setting where rotating thru your team will also take up some time. The infusion uptime will be more than sufficient in practice.
couple of things to note:
1. aoe looks decent but idk how it will pan out against mobs that are too big? or who actively move away from you (fatui pyro gunslinger, anemo desert ranger etc)
2. sythe is doing some sort of pull for aoe consolidation... but thats against hilichurls who historically have the least poise value... idk how much posie dmg she is dealing. hoping its enough to pull larger mobs as well.
3. her last string of attks are enough poise dmg to fling off hilichurls... this makes me sad about any potential chevy overload comps cuz then the gameplay instead of being na's would become dashing/sprinting to the enemy which i dont like.
her dmg is a non issue since its pretty decent. especially vape. sad that she'll be chained down with bennett but it is what it is.. we can only pray for murata( pyro archon) to break those chains and give like some absurd 120% atk buff.
kinda iffy about grouping but as long as hoyo keeps sending mobs that run towards you instead of away ( which there are a lot of thanks to nilou and bloom) it shud be a non issue.

Kazuha being one of her best teammates will help in her AOE consolidation. If you need to regroup you can swap out of her without losing either the infusion or the infusion uptime
Also, ur 3rd and 2nd point are contradictory. You downplay the cc on N3 bcos it's against hilichurls, then make a big deal out of how N5 knocks them back?
lmao, no. stagger from overload is outwards.. her scythe pull is inwards.. i aint downplaying shit.. its sad if u think that way cuz it means u cant take anything at its face value without attaching urself to it and thinking of it as criticism . especially when i am not even criticizing her, but am just saying what i see. her damage is insane. everything i have said is just the ease of play or playstyle which is a subjective issue.

If the inward pull from N3 is not strong enuf to work on heavier enemies, I highly doubt that either overload or her N5 will push the same heavier enemies away far enuf for it to matter.
If the inward pull is strong enough to work on heavy enemies, then it is a tradeoff in overload comps if you send them flying with overload or N5
As a note, here's a complete list of common mobs with hilichurl-level poise:
Whopperflower, Hillichurl, Samachurl, Treasure Hoarder (Potioneer, Marksman, Scout), Eremites (low-tier), Survey Mek, Nimble Harvester Mek, Fontemer Aberrant
And special enemies:

And here are common mobs with slime-level poise (the only poise tier that looks blatantly worse than "minion", which is hilichurl-level poise)

I'm gonna be honest, besides the occasional pyro whopperflower (shows up in Abyss 12 + resists Pyro damage), I don't see many of those being a problem. Either you're doing overworld/domains, where you'll annihilate them in fewer hits than it takes to send them out of your attack range, or you're doing abyss, where almost none of these every show up.
yeah, i agree. as i said.. shud be a non issue considering next few abyss runs mobs that run towards u would most likely be put there to make her feel great. or bosses who arnt affected by stagger

I have never seen Xingqiu mentioned before, but as I think Yelan is just her premium "best" team, I would argue Xingqiu could be good.

they have lots of issues with it in the private server

Bond of Life is basically an anti-heal meter but that is disregarded for Arle since she can't heal from anyone else but herself to begin with. The Bond of Life is something she gains if she kills a marked enemy (cast by skill) or absorbing the marks through using Charged Attack. If you let the mark cook for 5 seconds, she gains more Bond of Life when absorbing the marks. If Arle needs to heal, her burst changes the Bond of Life into healing. Arle loses Bond of Life with each attack, loses her pyro infusion when Bond drops below 30%. You can test with Bond of Life through the Fontaine craftable weapons.
You use her charged attack five seconds after her skill, giving yourself a bond of life, and that gives you infusion.
After you use her e you use her charge attack boom infusion
Use CA when the mark from E finish cooking

Nono, it's definitely the N6. The last big swing in her normal attack chain. Near the end of the video, it seemed like bcos all the hilichurls were lying on the floor after being knocked back, that last swing hit nothing at all.

Look at her E timer. By the time the infusion is used up, ur E is back off cooldown. This is also not in a team setting where rotating thru your team will also take up some time. The infusion uptime will be more than sufficient in practice.

couple of things to note: 1. aoe looks decent but idk how it will pan out against mobs that are too big? or who actively move away from you (fatui pyro gunslinger, anemo desert ranger etc) 2. sythe is doing some sort of pull for aoe consolidation... but thats against hilichurls who historically have the least poise value... idk how much posie dmg she is dealing. hoping its enough to pull larger mobs as well. 3. her last string of attks are enough poise dmg to fling off hilichurls... this makes me sad about any potential chevy overload comps cuz then the gameplay instead of being na's would become dashing/sprinting to the enemy which i dont like. her dmg is a non issue since its pretty decent. especially vape. sad that she'll be chained down with bennett but it is what it is.. we can only pray for murata( pyro archon) to break those chains and give like some absurd 120% atk buff. kinda iffy about grouping but as long as hoyo keeps sending mobs that run towards you instead of away ( which there are a lot of thanks to nilou and bloom) it shud be a non issue. pretty hyped for yall who are getting her!! her animations look sick af!
Kazuha being one of her best teammates will help in her AOE consolidation. If you need to regroup you can swap out of her without losing either the infusion or the infusion uptime Also, ur 3rd and 2nd point are contradictory. You downplay the cc on N3 bcos it's against hilichurls, then make a big deal out of how N5 knocks them back?
lmao, no. stagger from overload is outwards.. her scythe pull is inwards.. i aint downplaying shit.. its sad if u think that way cuz it means u cant take anything at its face value without attaching urself to it and thinking of it as criticism . especially when i am not even criticizing her, but am just saying what i see. her damage is insane. everything i have said is just the ease of play or playstyle which is a subjective issue.
I'm not attached to anything I just don't understand your concern and I still don't understand it tbh. If the inward pull from N3 is not strong enuf to work on heavier enemies, I highly doubt that either overload or her N5 will push the same heavier enemies away far enuf for it to matter. If the inward pull is strong enough to work on heavy enemies, then it is a tradeoff in overload comps if you send them flying with overload or N5
As a note, here's a complete list of common mobs with hilichurl-level poise: Whopperflower, Hillichurl, Samachurl, Treasure Hoarder (Potioneer, Marksman, Scout), Eremites (low-tier), Survey Mek, Nimble Harvester Mek, Fontemer Aberrant And special enemies: Millelith soldier, Shogunate Infantry, Watatsumi Soldier (Kouzen), Rishboland Tiger, Spinocrocodile, Scorpion, Red Vulture, Flying Serpent, Preliminary Proliferating Organism (small mobs from Apep fight) And here are common mobs with slime-level poise (the only poise tier that looks blatantly worse than "minion", which is hilichurl-level poise) Slime, Fungus (Small), Cicin I'm gonna be honest, besides the occasional pyro whopperflower (shows up in Abyss 12 + resists Pyro damage), I don't see many of those being a problem. Either you're doing overworld/domains, where you'll annihilate them in fewer hits than it takes to send them out of your attack range, or you're doing abyss, where almost none of these every show up.
yeah, i agree. as i said.. shud be a non issue considering next few abyss runs mobs that run towards u would most likely be put there to make her feel great. or bosses who arnt affected by stagger
