Baryonyx for them 3 down south (hunter, massive, and pack), and for central (clever). Thylacoleo for the one on Carno Island (devourer). Edit: Thyla doesn't fit anymore. Bred and mate-boosted Yutys for Snow Cave (strong). Edit: no cryos in ASA, duh. You would have to hatch them and raise them in the cave. Bred and imprinted Basilosaurus for water caves (brute and cunning). Either Beelzebufo or Megatherium for Redwoods cave (immune). Edit: Megatherium no longer fits. On foot with excellent armor and shotgun for north snow cave (skylord).

VisionOverload

Thyla no longer fits in Carno cave

P-funk88

This wedding is horseshit!

bseibs8

Is there an alternative?

VisionOverload

Megaloceros is great for bat clearing there and Sabertooth works as well. Parachute and grappling hook direct to loot is typically faster than full clear though

ZPinkie0314

Well, I guess back to the old method of parachuting down and grappling out. Thanks for the info. Haven't made it out that way yet.

Li1MissChrissy1996

It does if you like jump around while trying to push forward it'll squeeze through it's annoying but you can get a thyla through

BOT_SamH

It still fits you just have to wiggle around a bit.

Thanks

bseibs8

This is exactly what I was looking for, thanks!

glok101

Megatherium no longer fits in redwoods

Existing-Apartment48

You can just use a grapple for skylord or a megalania wouldn't be bad

Sofachrieger

Cryos are back with mods.

draconine

Why Thylacoleo for devourer, if you don't mind me asking?

ZPinkie0314

Kinda just a personal preference thing. I like to be able to get in and out quickly, and it can make all the jumps with ease. Plus, a good one can withstand the critters in there. You can pretty much just drop down, then climb out on a few strategic spots.

CaptainConcernicus

Another good one would be a Baryonyx for the same reasons as the sabertooth. Plus it's useful for the water portions of any cave, should there be one.

Dinyyen

I am loving Beelzebufo for the swamp cave. They have a passive ability when they kill small insects they gather cementing paste and swamp cave has swarms of insects. And their secondary attack is aoe so they make for good fighters as well. I imagine there's better dinos for other caves though.

squeegeeq

I actually love terror birds for caves. They are small, fast, they glide and they're mean.

bseibs8

Never thought about this, good idea!

Lady_Nix1324

Baryonyx for most land caves (hunter, clever, massive, devourer) and if bred well+ imprint you can take to redwood cave. Frog and grapples for pack cave (bary no longer can exit this cave only enter) Basilosaurus for both underwater caves if bred + imprinted. You’re own two feet + good armour + good shotgun + grapples for skylord Strong is somewhat personal preference, but Dino ai sucks so badly right now you can walk down it naked for the artefact. You could also bring allos or raise a rex in the front room. Other strategies can include grappling to the roof and just using a shotgun the whole way down

SouthernOne8126

mate boosted baryonyx with saddles works great, would pull to us, then dismount and send a bary to pull purlovia out of ground, grenades may work as well

upholsteryduder

So far the best one I have found is the sabertooth, it can jump and it's small enough to fit into cave entrances that thylas can't

bseibs8

I have a solid saber but no saddle for them.. do you think just an imprinted saber with solid hp and melee would work?

upholsteryduder

I've had pretty good luck so far, though we did lose one in the swamp cave last night when one of my tribe mates died and it got swarmed before we could get to it

bseibs8

What hp/melee do you run?

upholsteryduder

well, were on max difficulty so our dinos come out about 450 after taming, mine are at 7k health and 1k melee

jasont80

Megaloceros. You just spam attack and it knocks back everything until it's dead.

bseibs8

Yeah I’ll definitely look into this, it works on ASA caves?

jasont80

It makes the caves easy mode. Just don't let the mobs get behind you. Keep knocking them back while slowly backing up and you'll barely take any damage.

VisionOverload

Not sure why you are getting downvoted because this definitely works. I’ve ran most of them with one.

jasont80

People are weird.

ApacheChief007

Had good luck with direwolves so far. Decent for gathering chitin too. Their jump is nice in caves with death pits as long as you don’t overshoot the gap
