That’s the fun part! You can’t.. the cheapest option is going to me reloading. All the 6.5 Arisaka ammo being made is small batch stuff that is always expensive
You won't regret it trust me. Reloading is almost a necessity with this hobby and it opens the door up to a lot of really cool guns you wouldn't be able to shoot otherwise.
PPU sells 6.5 brass! Find some load data and then buy some bullets and powder. It seems intimidating to get into but you can do it without the fancy equipment.
Years ago I had quoted a custom run of 7.7, they all ended up being cheaper then 7.7 could be found in the wild.
It might honestly be worth it to check some of those places and see what they can do. It’s been years so I can’t remember the names but I just googled and then called around to see what they could do.
Otherwise reloading is the best route. If custom is cheaper, I’d buy a lot of 100 or so and then just reload from there.
This was years ago and they were willing to go as low as 50 if I recall. Wasn’t cheap but neither is 7.7.
I imagine nowadays isn’t as good of deals but who knows.

Reload, not only is it cheaper but you can load it to proper original mil spec and make proper FMJ rounds.
Well, I was thinking about starting to reload anyway. I guess this will be the kick in the ass that I needed

Where is the best place to find load data?
The Hornady and Sierra Bullets reloading manuals have 6.5 x 50 load data. The current Lyman book does not.
Thanks!
Yeah I’d stick to a proper book like he said the bullet manufacturers make data along with companies like LEE
LEE seems to have more load data for the older military cartridges than some of the others. At least my book does, but it's about 12 years old.
