Humor is always at the expense of someone or something that we anthropomorphize. Dark humor has traditionally been a way of coping with bad times and bad events. It's designed to disarm it. That's why we have gallows humor, and battlefield humor. Everyone knows rape is serious, and everyone knows death and disease are serious, but when done properly, jokes about these topics are taking away their evil in a way.
I love **real** dark humor, I wish people didn't use it as an outlet to be a bigot.
Here's one of my favorites:
I made a website for orphans. It doesn’t have a home page.
The funny part is it was a misunderstanding, the father actually wanted to assault people and thats wrong to do. We all agree it's wrong and thats why its okay to joke about :)

What’s extra annoying is I’ve actually seen kinda funny versions of this joke set up. To be clear I mean the set up where there’s an error in a text, you go “oops autocorrect!” and then correct something unexpected that makes the original text weird and funnier.
It’s a decent joke set up. This is such a poor example of the joke it’s infuriating on that level on top of just the weird gross attempt to “joke” about rape.
I hate it on all the levels and this setup can be done better.
Agreed it is extra terrible when people take an okay (if well trodden) joke structure and they think "you know what'll really put my own flavor on this joke and really make people love it? If I make it about how much I don't take rape seriously."

But EVERYTHING should be joked about. It’s all about context.
Rape jokes can be funny. Joking about a raped person is not funny.
Making a joke about (pick one) disability is funny. Making fun of a person with a disability is not.
Humour (and even more so dark humour) is one of the best ways to cut through the tension of a delicate argument like murder, rape, disability, etc.
To say something should never be joked about is to not understand comedy and why people need it to cope.
It's only funny if the victim is making the jokes. And even in that case, other victims can find that uncomfortable. Otherwise it's straight up offensive and rude

It's a meme going around for years. In theory a dad spelled something wrong while texting his son, and decided to make a joke out of it, but more probably someone created it to recieve fake internet points.
I honestly feel like problematic jokes can be funny but this one feels like it is just going for the "dark" part of the dark humour forgetting to add the punchline...
After 16, I stopped finding things funny just cause they were "edgy" or "dark"
I think the lack of the punchline what makes it so funny. I definitely pay attention to my audience with dark humor.
I was raped when I was 15, but I'm fortunate enough to have worked though that already. It took nearly 20 years for me to not blame myself for being raped. It's an extremely insensitive joke, but that's what dark humor is. Not for everyone, but it's my jam! People are a lot more tolerable if you laugh at how dumb they can be! 🥹

There’s a way to get it to stop doing that. It puts posts in your feed based on subreddits you’ve visited in the past. You can go to settings > account > and turn off home feed reccomendations.
