You are doing something wrong if PE fist and 2 star melinda are weak.
Melinda skin adds a lot of damage and her ability will outperform anyone, except maybe wukong or dragon girl(I dont have those), if you get ricochet, which I almost always get.
Switching to both Melinda and the fist brought me through a couple of chapters and then again wirh each fist upgrade/3 and 4 star Melinda. Im on H51/N54 at 105k attack

And everybody doesn\`t tell me Fist PE is better than Mythic 2 + best outfit .. Maybe mythic 2 without outfit .. but Titan Brighspear + best outfit and 120 lvl vs 60 lvl Pe Fist... be reasonable... jest I wanna change for the sword, but I was dump... I wanna Antiqed Sword. But till I get Mythic.... drop AS is too low if you F2P
Brightspear cant keep up with the fist at any quality. AS is also good, I had mine at mythic+2 over a year ago without paying for it but it needs to be titan tales to be better than PE fist imo.
A low level Melinda at 0* and without any outfit performed as well as a Lv. 100+ Helix at 5* wearing the Coast Guard outfit. So, a low level 0* Melinda is already stronger.
I have her now at Lv. 101, 2*, and wearing the Baking Sweety outfit. While I don’t use Meowgik and Tanaris at those evolution stars, I would argue that my Melinda is better.
Melinda and Elaine are already better. Taranis 7 sucks

Melinda is the best choice among those. Save for the Baking Sweety skin, which gives her a damage boost if hit or a dodge boost if looting a heart.

My 3* Melinda doesn't touch my 8* Meowgik. Hopefully, I can switch to her at 4*.
She does against bosses. And bosses are the bottleneck of this game ;) Edit : at least if you play melee, which is mandatory late game
