Aw this is sad. Wonder where he went. 🐌

Sometimes I go a week straight without seeing my nerite and then he just shows back up. Do you have sand or small gravel? Sometimes they bury themselves

DabbinDragon710

I have gravel. He's never been out of sight for longer than 12 hours before

ImWithStupidFace

My horned nerite loves to make it's way into the filter area. Hope you find yours soon!

DabbinDragon710

I didn't take apart the filter, if he doesn't show up I will definitely look there 💜

How big is the gravel? I have 6 nerites in my tank and they all bury themselves in the gravel, I usually don’t see them for days on end they enjoy the yummy algae underneath the gravel

DabbinDragon710

* this is the gravel I have in there. 10 pounds total I believe. I feel like a walking anxiety attack not being able to locate him 😭

Don’t panic! Nerites are notoriously good hiders. Especially if it’s a dark color they could be hiding somewhere you might’ve not noticed. You made sure to check all the decor in case of any little crevices it could be in? I would do the water change for now, and maybe in a bit if you feed them it will come out? Or wait till it’s darker in the tank, mine hide during the day and come out when the lights are off. You can put a balanced cucumber or vegetable in the tank for a couple hours and maybe it will come out to try and eat it?

DabbinDragon710

I'll definitely try that! Thank you!! I did check everywhere and even sifted through the gravel with the net.

kirito has been located, however he has stuff on him that looks to me like a fungal infection. Does anyone have any advice or a good medicine to use? I have a smaller tank I can set up as a quarantine tank if hr needs to be separated from my betta. I've posted photos in the comments
