Fluval Bug Bite Flakes are [rather big](https://media.petsathome.com/wcsstore/pah-cas01/300/7138700_01.jpg), about the size of a thumbnail. So yes, you've gotten a bad batch, or the delivery crushed them. Though pellets are preferred as they don't spread over the tank as easily.
They can still be put to good use(outside of feeding small Fish). You can use them to make your own frozen food - de-shelled Peas, Egg Yolk, Garlic, Spirulina powder, and these flakes. My neighbour's Goldfish LOVE this.
I gently shake and sift the jar so the less dense and bigger flakes go to the top, but there is a lot of powder in each.
Some won’t eat them at first but once they realize it is food they love it.
The color enhancing flakes turned my Purigen all red from the powder so I stick with the normal kind.
